◈ 낚시 바늘에 미끼 끼우기

    Cut the bait into small pieces, and Put one piece on each hook.

      (미끼를 조그맣게 잘라서 하나씩 바늘에 끼워.)

    We've run out of bait. Take one fish out of the basket and cut it into small pieces.

      (미끼가 다 떨어졌어. 바켓에서 고기 한 마리 끄집어 내서 조그맣게 잘라.)

◈ 낚싯대를 던질 때

    Click the bar forward and release the line.

       ( 바를 앞으로 탁 제끼고 낚싯줄을 풀어.)

    Cast the line out as far as you can, and wind your line in a bit.

       (줄을 가능한 멀리 던지고 나서 약간 감아둬.)

    When you are casting make sure there is nobody behind you, so you don't

    hook anybody up.

       (낚시줄을 던질 때 뒤에 아무도 없는지 꼭 확인을 해. 바늘에 사람을 안 끼도록

        해야 되니까.)

◈ 입질해서 낚싯대 당기기

     Your line's pulling.   혹은 You've got a bite (on your line).

       (입질해요.)                     

     Give it a jerk, and then wind it up fast to hook the fish onto your line.

       (탁! 당기고 나서 빨리 감아!  고기가 바늘에 걸리게.)

     Give it a jerk, wind it up fast.

       (바늘이 걸리게) 탁 당기고 나서 빨리 감아.)

     Give it a jerk hook the fish onto the line.

       (탁 당겨서 고기를 줄(바늘)에 걸어.

    ※ jerk의 뜻은 sudden push 갑자기 탁 밀치거나 sudden pull 갑자기 탁 당기거나

        sudden twist 갑자기 확 비트는 것.

◈ 잡은 물고기 바늘 빼내기

       The fish's flipping around a lot.

       (이 놈의 고기가 엄청 파닥거리네.)

       You hold the fish. I'll take the hook out of its mouth.

        (고기를 잡고 있어! 내가 주둥이에서 바늘을 빼낼께.)

       Watch out!  The spines (on the fins) can stick into your hand.

       (조심해! 등 지느러미 가시에 잘못하면 손 찔려.)

       Push the hook back out the way it came in. 

       (바늘을 밀면서 빼내. 반대로 하는 거야.)

       Take the fish off the hook and put it into the bucket.

       (바늘을 빼 내고 고기를 바케츠에 집어넣어.)

◈ 줄이 걸렸을 때

       The line is snagged on something.

         (줄이 무엇에 걸렸어.)

       Give it a couple of pulls.

         (몇 번 당겨 봐.)

       , and if it doesn't come free, just cut it off.

         (그래도 안 나오면 짤라 버려.)

       There are some more spare hooks and sinkers in the (fishing) tackle.

         (낚시도구 통에 바늘이랑 추가 여분으로 있어.)

       I want to take this sinker off as it is too small.

         ( 추를 떼어내야겠어. 너무 작아서...)

            →이 때 as는 because보다 약한 이유를 나타냄.

       I might have a couple of them in my (fishing) tackle.

         (내 낚시도구 통에 두어 개 있을거야.)
