The title of this book is "How October Became the Tenth Month."

When two thousands years to ancient Rome. In the ancient Rome.
Two thousand years ago, in ancient Rome, the calendar there only consists of consisted of only ten months.

So October was the eighth month.
September, November, and December were named from Latin numbers,
like septem (seven), novem (nine), and decem (ten).

July and August were originally based on numbers,
and January and February were added to the calendar later on.

I think this book is interesting, and I want to know about more about the calendar.
