오늘 전례

교회는 주님 부활 대축일로부터 50일째 되는 날, 곧 부활 시기가 끝나는 날에 성령 강림 대축일을 지낸다. 성령 강림으로 인류 구원의 사명이 완성되었고, 이 구원의 신비는 성령께서 활동하시는 교회와 함께 계속된다는 뜻이다. 그리스도인들은 사도들에게 성령께서 강림하시어 그리스도께서 하시던 일이 완성되었음을 경축한다. 예수님의 제자들이 성령으로 충만한 가운데 용감하게 복음을 선포하면서 여러 민족들에게 복음이 전파되기 시작하였다. 그래서 이날을 새로운 하느님의 백성인 교회가 탄생한 날로 본다.

이 미사는 토요일 저녁, 성령 강림 대축일 제1 저녁 기도 앞이나 뒤에 드린다.

오늘은 성령 강림 대축일입니다. 우리는 한 성령 안에서 세례를 받아 한 몸이 되었습니다. 하느님께서는 각 사람에게 공동선을 위하여 성령을 드러내 보여 주셨습니다. 저마다 받은 성령의 은사에 힘입어 세상에 기쁜 소식을 전하기로 다짐합시다.

제1독서

<주님께서 거기에서 온 땅의 말을 뒤섞어 놓으셨기 때문에 그곳을 바벨이라 하였다.>
▥ 창세기의 말씀입니다.11,1-9
1 온 세상이 같은 말을 하고 같은 낱말들을 쓰고 있었다.
2 사람들이 동쪽에서 이주해 오다가
신아르 지방에서 한 벌판을 만나 거기에 자리 잡고 살았다.
3 그들은 서로 말하였다.
“자, 벽돌을 빚어 단단히 구워 내자.”
그리하여 그들은 돌 대신 벽돌을 쓰고,
진흙 대신 역청을 쓰게 되었다.
4 그들은 또 말하였다.
“자, 성읍을 세우고 꼭대기가 하늘까지 닿는 탑을 세워 이름을 날리자.
그렇게 해서 우리가 온 땅으로 흩어지지 않게 하자.”
5 그러자 주님께서 내려오시어
사람들이 세운 성읍과 탑을 보시고 6 말씀하셨다.
“보라, 저들은 한 겨레이고 모두 같은 말을 쓰고 있다.
이것은 그들이 하려는 일의 시작일 뿐,
이제 그들이 하고자 하는 것은 무엇이든 못할 일이 없을 것이다.
7 자, 우리가 내려가서 그들의 말을 뒤섞어 놓아,
서로 남의 말을 알아듣지 못하게 만들어 버리자.”
8 주님께서는 그들을 거기에서 온 땅으로 흩어 버리셨다.
그래서 그들은 그 성읍을 세우는 일을 그만두었다.
9 그리하여 그곳의 이름을 바벨이라 하였다.
주님께서 거기에서 온 땅의 말을 뒤섞어 놓으시고,
사람들을 온 땅으로 흩어 버리셨기 때문이다.
주님의 말씀입니다.

그 무렵 3 모세가 하느님께 올라가자, 주님께서 산에서 그를 불러 말씀하셨다.
“너는 야곱 집안에게 이렇게 말하여라. 이스라엘 자손들에게 알려 주어라.
4 ‘너희는 내가 이집트인들에게 무엇을 하고
어떻게 너희를 독수리 날개에 태워 나에게 데려왔는지 보았다.
5 이제 너희가 내 말을 듣고 내 계약을 지키면,
너희는 모든 민족들 가운데에서 나의 소유가 될 것이다. 온 세상이 나의 것이다.
6 그리고 너희는 나에게 사제들의 나라가 되고 거룩한 민족이 될 것이다.’
이것이 네가 이스라엘인들에게 알려 줄 말이다.”
7 모세가 돌아와 백성의 원로들을 불러,
주님께서 분부하신 이 모든 말씀을 전하였다.
8 그러자 백성이 다 함께,
“주님께서 이르신 모든 것을 우리가 실천하겠습니다.” 하고 대답하였다.
16 셋째 날 아침, 우렛소리와 함께 번개가 치고
짙은 구름이 산을 덮은 가운데 뿔 나팔 소리가 크게 울려 퍼지자,
진영에 있던 백성이 모두 떨었다.
17 하느님을 만날 수 있도록 모세가 백성을 진영에서 데리고 나오자
그들은 산기슭에 섰다.
18 그때 시나이 산은 온통 연기가 자욱하였다.
주님께서 불 속에서 그 위로 내려오셨기 때문이다.
마치 가마에서 나오는 것처럼 연기가 솟아오르며 산 전체가 심하게 뒤흔들렸다.
19 뿔 나팔 소리가 점점 크게 울려 퍼지는 가운데 모세가 말씀을 아뢰자,
하느님께서 우렛소리로 대답하셨다.
20 주님께서는 시나이 산 위로, 그 산봉우리로 내려오셨다.
그런 다음 주님께서 모세를 그 산봉우리로 부르셨다.
주님의 말씀입니다.

제2독서

<성령께서 말로 다 할 수 없이 탄식하시며 우리를 대신하여 간구해 주십니다.>
▥ 사도 바오로의 로마서 말씀입니다.8,22-27
형제 여러분,
22 우리는 모든 피조물이 지금까지 다 함께 탄식하며
진통을 겪고 있음을 알고 있습니다.
23 그러나 피조물만이 아니라 성령을 첫 선물로 받은 우리 자신도
하느님의 자녀가 되기를, 우리의 몸이 속량되기를 기다리며
속으로 탄식하고 있습니다.
24 사실 우리는 희망으로 구원을 받았습니다.
보이는 것을 희망하는 것은 희망이 아닙니다.
보이는 것을 누가 희망합니까?
25 우리는 보이지 않는 것을 희망하기에 인내심을 가지고 기다립니다.
26 이와 같이, 성령께서도 나약한 우리를 도와주십니다.
우리는 올바른 방식으로 기도할 줄 모르지만,
성령께서 몸소 말로 다 할 수 없이 탄식하시며
우리를 대신하여 간구해 주십니다.
27 마음속까지 살펴보시는 분께서는
이러한 성령의 생각이 무엇인지 아십니다.
성령께서 하느님의 뜻에 따라
성도들을 위하여 간구하시기 때문입니다.

<생수의 강들이 흘러나올 것이다.>
✠ 요한이 전한 거룩한 복음입니다.7,37-39
37 축제의 가장 중요한 날인 마지막 날에
예수님께서는 일어서시어 큰 소리로 말씀하셨다.
“목마른 사람은 다 나에게 와서 마셔라.
38 나를 믿는 사람은 성경 말씀대로
‘그 속에서부터 생수의 강들이 흘러나올 것이다.’”
39 이는 당신을 믿는 이들이 받게 될 성령을 가리켜 하신 말씀이었다.
예수님께서 영광스럽게 되지 않으셨기 때문에,
성령께서 아직 와 계시지 않았던 것이다.
주님의 말씀입니다.

보편 지향 기도

<각 공동체 스스로 준비한 기도를 바치는 것이 바람직하다.>
1. 교회를 위하여 기도합시다.

보호자이신 주님, 주님의 교회에 성령을 보내 주시어, 성령의 은총으로 세상 모든 이가 참사랑을 실천하며 성덕으로 나아가도록 이끌게 하소서.

2. 경제인들을 위하여 기도합시다.

의로우신 주님, 이 땅의 경제인들을 주님의 정의로 이끌어 주시어, 노동자의 안전과 목소리에 관심을 기울이고 공동선을 실현하며 참된 경제 발전을 이루게 하소서.

3. 고통받는 이들을 위하여 기도합시다.

보호자이신 주님, 사회 안에서 갖가지 이유로 고통받는 이들을 보살펴 주시어, 저마다 자기 존엄을 지키고, 주님께서 주시는 희망 속에서 평화를 누릴 수 있도록 도와주소서.

4. 생명의 가치를 지키려는 젊은이들을 위하여 기도합시다.

참생명이신 주님, 젊은이들이 생명의 고귀함을 깊이 깨닫고, 그 소중함을 세상에 용기 있게 증언하며, 삶의 모든 순간에 생명을 존중하고 지키게 하소서.

<성령 강림 감사송 : 성령 강림의 신비>
거룩하신 아버지, 전능하시고 영원하신 주 하느님,
언제나 어디서나 아버지께 감사함이
참으로 마땅하고 옳은 일이며 저희 도리요 구원의 길이옵니다.
아버지께서는 파스카의 신비를 완성하시려고
저희를 외아드님과 결합시키시어 주님의 자녀가 되게 하시고
오늘 성령을 가득히 내려 주셨으며
성령께서는 새로 세워진 교회와 모든 민족들에게
천상 지혜를 넣어 주시어
서로 다른 언어로 같은 신앙을 고백하게 하셨나이다.

Reading I

Genesis 11:1-9

The whole world spoke the same language, using the same words.
While the people were migrating in the east,
they came upon a valley in the land of Shinar and settled there.
They said to one another,
“Come, let us mold bricks and harden them with fire.”
They used bricks for stone, and bitumen for mortar.
Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city
and a tower with its top in the sky,
and so make a name for ourselves;
otherwise we shall be scattered all over the earth.”

The LORD came down to see the city and the tower
that the people had built.
Then the LORD said: “If now, while they are one people,
all speaking the same language,
they have started to do this,
nothing will later stop them from doing whatever they presume to do.
Let us then go down there and confuse their language,
so that one will not understand what another says.”
Thus the LORD scattered them from there all over the earth,
and they stopped building the city.
That is why it was called Babel,
because there the LORD confused the speech of all the world.
It was from that place that he scattered them all over the earth.

Mount Sinai was all wrapped in smoke,
for the LORD came down upon it in fire.
The smoke rose from it as though from a furnace,
and the whole mountain trembled violently.
The trumpet blast grew louder and louder, while Moses was speaking,
and God answering him with thunder.

When the LORD came down to the top of Mount Sinai,
he summoned Moses to the top of the mountain.

and he led me out in the spirit of the LORD
and set me in the center of the plain,
which was now filled with bones.
He made me walk among the bones in every direction
so that I saw how many they were on the surface of the plain.
How dry they were!

Son of man, can these bones come to life?
I answered, “Lord GOD, you alone know that.”
Then he said to me:
Prophesy over these bones, and say to them:
Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD!
Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones:
See!  I will bring spirit into you, that you may come to life.
I will put sinews upon you, make flesh grow over you,
cover you with skin, and put spirit in you

I prophesied as he told me, and the spirit came into them;

Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel.

“Our bones are dried up,
our hope is lost, and we are cut off.”

O my people, I will open your graves
and have you rise from them,
and bring you back to the land of Israel.

Romans 8:22-27

Brothers and sisters:
We know that all creation is groaning in labor pains even until now;
and not only that, but we ourselves,
who have the firstfruits of the Spirit,
we also groan within ourselves
as we wait for adoption, the redemption of our bodies.
For in hope we were saved.
Now hope that sees is not hope.
For who hopes for what one sees?
But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait with endurance.

In the same way, the Spirit too comes to the aid of our weakness;
for we do not know how to pray as we ought,
but the Spirit himself intercedes with inexpressible groanings.
And the one who searches hearts
knows what is the intention of the Spirit,
because he intercedes for the holy ones
according to God’s will.

Gospel

John 7:37-39

On the last and greatest day of the feast,
Jesus stood up and exclaimed,
“Let anyone who thirsts come to me and drink.
As Scripture says:
    Rivers of living water will flow from within him who believes in me.”

He said this in reference to the Spirit
that those who came to believe in him were to receive.
There was, of course, no Spirit yet,
because Jesus had not yet been glorified.
