Bible Reading - Acts 23:1~12

23:1 Paul looked straight at the Sanhedrin and said, 

바울은 산헤드린 공회원들을 똑바로 바라보며 말했다.

"My brothers, I have fulfilled my duty to God in all good conscience to this day."

"내 형제들이여, 나는 이 날까지 모든 선한 양심으로 내 책무를 성취했다.

23:2 At this the high priest Ananias ordered those standing near Paul to strike him on the mouth.

이에, 대제사장 아나니아가 바울 근처에 서있던 자들에게 그의 입을 때리라고 명령했다.

23:3 Then Paul said to him, 그때 바울이 그에게 말했다.

"God will strike you, you whitewashed wall! "하나님께서 너를 치실 것이다. 너 회칠한 벽이여!"

You sit there to judge me according to the law, 너는 거기에 앉아서 율법에 따라 나를 재판하려고 앉아있다.

yet you yourself violate the law by commanding that I be struck!"

그러나 너 자신은 나를 때리도록 명령함으로 율법을 어긴다.

23:4 Those who were standing near Paul said, "You dare to insult God's high priest?"

바울 근처에 서있었던 자들이 "너는 감히 하나님의 대제사장을 모욕하려고 하는가?"하고 말했다.

23:5 Paul replied, 바울이 대답했다.

"Brothers, I did not realize that he was the high priest;

형제들아, 나는 그가 대제사장이라는 것을 알지 못했다.

for it is written: 'Do not speak evil about the ruler of your people.'"

기록되기를 "너의 백성의 통치자들에 대해 악한 말을 하지 말라."

23:6 Then Paul, knowing that some of them were Sadducees and the others Pharisees, called out in the Sanhedrin,

그때 바울은 그들 중에 사두개인과 바리새인이 있음을 알고 산헤드린 공회에서 소리쳐 말했다.

"My brothers, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee.

내 형제들아, 나는 바리새인이며 바리새인의 아들이다.

I stand on trial because of my hope in the resurrection of the dead."

나는 죽은 자들의 부활에 대한 나의 소망 때문에 재판받으려고 서있다.

23:7 When he said this, 그가 이것을 말하자

a dispute broke out between the Pharisees and the Sadducees, 

논쟁이 바리새인들과 사두개인들 사이에서 발발했고

and the assembly was divided. 그 공회는 나누어졌다.

23:8 (The Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, and that there are neither angels nor spirits, but the Pharisees acknowledge them all.)

사두개인들은 부활이 없고 천사들이나 영들이 없다고 말하지만 바리새인들은 그들 전부를 인정한다.

23:9 There was a great uproar, 큰 소동이 일어났고

and some of the teachers of the law who were Pharisees stood up and argued vigorously.

바리새인이었던 율법 교사들 중에 몇몇은 일어나서 격렬하게 논쟁했다.

"We find nothing wrong with this man," they said.그들은 "

우리는 이 사람에게서 아무 것도 잘못된 것이 없음을 발견했다."고 말했다.

"What if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him?"

만일 영이나 천사가 그에게 말했다면 어쩔 것인가?

23:10 The dispute became so violent that the commander was afraid Paul would be torn to pieces by them. 논쟁이 아주 격렬하여 천부장은 바울이 그들에 의해 조각 날 것을 두려워하였다.

He ordered the troops to go down and take him away from them by force and bring him into the barracks.

그는 병사들에게 내려가 그를 그들로부터 강제로 떼어내어 막사로 데려오라고 명령했다.

23:11 The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said, 

다음 날 밤 주님께서 바울 곁에 서서 말씀하셨다.

"Take courage! 용기를 내어라.

As you have testified about me in Jerusalem, 네가 예루살렘에서 나에 대해 증거했던 것처럼,

so you must also testify in Rome." 너는 또한 로마에서도 증거해야만 한다.

23:12 The next morning the Jews formed a conspiracy and bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul.

다음날 아침에 유대인들은 음모를 꾸며 그들이 바울을 죽이기까지 먹지도 마시지도 않겠다는 맹세를 했다.
