Section 8: Emerging from the Dharma
"Subhuti, what do you think? If someone were to fill the 3,000 grand thousand worlds(만삼천대천세계(滿三千大千世界) with the seven precious treasures and gave them all to others as an act of generosity, would this person's happiness and virtue brought from this virtuous act be great or not?" Subhuti replied, "Very great, World Honoured One. Why? Because, this virtue and happiness is not the natures of virtue and happiness. Therefore, the Tathagata says the virtue and happiness is great."
The Buddha said, "Subhuti, on the other hand, if there is someone who accepts and understands these teachings and puts them into practice, even if only a stanza of four lines of this Sutra and explains them to someone else, the happiness brought about by this virtuous act exceeds the former.
Why? Subhuti. Because, all the Buddhas and the dharmas of Annutara Samyak Sambothi of all the Buddhas arise from the teachings of this Sutra.
Subhuti, what is called Buddhadharma is just not Buddhadharma."
Chapter 8.
"Let me ask you Subhuti? If a person filled over ten thousand galaxies with the seven treasures for the purpose of compassion, charity, and giving alms, would this person not gain great merit and spread much happiness?" "Yes, Most Honored One. This person would gain great merit and spread much happiness, even though, in truth, this person does not have a separate existence to which merit could accrue. Why? Because this persons merit is characterized with the quality of not being merit." The Buddha continued, "Then suppose another person understood only four lines of this Sutra, but nevertheless took it upon themselves to explain these lines to someone else. This person's merit would be even greater than the other person's. Why? Because all Buddhas and all the teachings and values of the highest, most fulfilled, most awakened minds arise from the teachings in this Sutra. And yet, even as I speak, Subhuti, I must take back my words as soon as they are uttered, for there are no Buddhas and there are no teachings."

Section Ⅷ. The Fruits of Meritorious Action
Subhuti, what do you think? If anyone filled three thousand galaxies of worlds with the seven treasures and gave all away in gifts of alms, would he gain great merit? Subhuti said: Great indeed, World-honoured One! Wherefore? Because merit partakes of the character of no-merit, the Tathagata characterized the merit as great. Then Buddha said: On the other hand, if anyone received and retained even only four lines of this Discourse and taught and explained them to others, his merit would be the greater. Wherefore? Because, Subhuti, from this Discourse issue forth all the Buddhas and the Consummation of Incomparable Enlightenment teachings of all the Buddhas. Subhuti, what is called "the Religion given by Buddha" is not, in fact, Buddha-Religion.
Section 8: Emerging from the Dharma
“Subhūti, what do you think? If someone filled the three thousand great thousand-worlds with the Seven Precious Jewels in the practice of giving, would such a person obtain many merits?” Subhūti replied, “Very many, Bhagavān! Why? Such merits do not have the nature of merits, and for this reason the Tathāgata speaks of many merits.” “If a person accepts and maintains even as little as a four-line gāthā from within this sūtra, speaking it to others, then his or her merits will be even greater. Why? Subhūti, this is because all buddhas, as well as the dharmas of the Anuttarā Samyaksaṃbodhi of the buddhas, emerge from this sūtra. Subhūti, what is called the Buddha Dharma is not a buddha dharma.
