'The 33' is a movie about the miraculous true story of 33 Chilean miners who were 

buried 700 meters underground after a mine collapse and were all rescued after 69 days. 

Instead of following the typical formula of Hollywood disaster movies, 

it relies completely on the power of the true story. 

The miners’ strong will to live and their determination to hold on to hope, 

even in the worst situation with only three days' worth of food and water left, was very impressive. 

Watching the Chilean people supporting the rescue with one heart and the government prioritizing 

moral duty over political calculations reminded me of the Sinking of MV Sewol. 

The unbelievable true story of all the miners surviving without a single death makes 

the similar situations where most people could not be saved feel more bittersweet.  

The leadership shown by the 33 miners, their families, and the government in extreme circumstances, 

their communication in searching for solutions with a common goal, and their firm determination 

to use every possible means to ensure the rescue, makes this miracle achieved 

by ordinary people even more touching.

'33'은 광산 붕괴 사고로 지하 700m에 매몰된 칠레 광부 33인이  69일 만에 전원 구조되기까지의 기적 같은 실화를 그린 영화다. 
할리우드 재난 영화의 일반적인 공식을 따르는 대신 실화의 힘에  온전히 기댄다.

식량과 마실 물이라고는 단 사흘 치 밖에 남지 않은 최악의 상황 속에서 광부들이 보여준 삶에 대한 강한 의지와 끝까지

희망을 잃지 않는 모습이 인상깊었다. 또한 33인의 구조를 한마음으로 응원하는 칠레 국민들, 정치적 계산이 아닌 도의를 

우선시하는 정부를 보면서 자연스럽게 세월호 참사가 겹쳐 보이기도 했다. 단 한명의 사망자 없이 전원이 생존한

믿을 수 없는 실화는 유사한 상황에서 대부분을 구해내지 못한 사건을 우리에게는 일어나지 않은 그 기적이 감동의 뒷맛을

씁슬하게 한다. 광부 33인과 그들의 가족, 정부가 보여준 극한 상황에서의 리더십, 공통의 목표를 가지고 방법을 모색했던

소통, 또한 모든 가능성을 동원해 반드시 구하겠다는 굳은 의지는 평범한 사람들이 이룬 기적이기에 

그 감동이 더욱 깊숙이 파고드는 것 같다.
