2. 의식적 삶은 목적이 부여된 것

땅 위를 기는 동물도, 날개로 나는 새들도 너희와 마찬가지로 공동체의 일부이니라.

내가 말한다. “비유하여 마치 어떤 감각기관을 구유하지 못한 채 태어난 사람(즉 생래적인 소경, 귀머거리, 벙어리, 앉은뱅이, 등과 같은 불구자들)의 의식은 겉으로 드러나 보이지 않지만, 그들이 칼에 찔리거나 폭행을 당할 때 아무런 고통이나 아픔을 느끼지 않는 것이 아니다. 이와 마찬가지로 흙으로 이루어진 존재들(즉 광물질이나 원자), 물로 이루어진 존재들,... 불로 이루어진 존재들,... 식물,... 동물,... 공기로 이루어진 존재들도 그들의 의식이나 고통을 느끼는 것이 다만 겉으로 드러나 보이지 않을 뿐이며, 그렇다고 하여 아픔을 느끼지 않는 것은 아니다.”

꽃도 수술이 키스해 줄 때 암술은 ‘아 좋다!’ 한다는 것입니다. 그런 감각이 있어야 할 것 아닙니까? 그런 느낌이 있겠습니까, 없겠습니까? 수컷 암컷의 감각은 최고의 감각인데, 그 감각을 구성하고 있는 것은 오관적 감각의 연결체로 말미암아 되어졌다는 것입니다. 이것은 이론적입니다.

오관적 감각으로 사랑을 한다는 것은 남자 여자가 대등한 자리로 만들어졌다는 것입니다. 급은 낮지만 공통분모로 평준화되어 그 세계에 있어서 통일적 내용을 갖춘 것입니다. 그렇기 때문에 남자와 여자 또는 수컷과 암컷으로 된 것은 하나님의 모든 공통분모를 공개적으로 분배받은 것이 틀림없다 하는 것을 부정할 수 없습니다.

물질로 형성된 인간의 생리적 기능이 마음의 정. 지. 의에 완전히 공명되는 것은 물질도 역시 정. 지. 의에 공명될 수 있는 요소를 가지고 있다는 사실을 입증하는 것이다. 이러한 요소들이 물질의 성상을 이루고 있기 때문에 삼라만상은 각각 그 정도의 차는 있으나 모두 정. 지. 의의 감응체인 것이다. 우리가 자연계의 아름다움에 도취하여 그와 혼연일체의 신비경을 체험하게 되는 것은, 인간은 피조물의 이러한 성상의 중심도 되는 것이기 때문이다.

하나님께서도 자신을 자랑하고 싶으신 것입니다. 멀리 역사 전 시대로 돌아가서, 창조의 세계를 흠모하시던 창조주께서 6일간 창조하신 창조물을 바라보고 기뻐하시던 그 시대를 회상해 보게 될 때, 하나님께서도 지어진 모든 만물을 통하여서 자신을 자랑하고 싶으신 마음이 있었기 때문에 만물을 창조하신 것이 틀림없습니다. 지음 받은 어떠한 존재를 두고 보더라도 그러한 사연이 엉키어 있다는 것입니다.

여러분이 바라보는 이 피조세계, 혹은 이 자연에는 각양각색의 피조물들이 존재하고 있습니다. 존재하는 만상이 어떠한 과정을 거쳐 창조되었느냐? 그것은 창조주의 정성어린 심정의 과정을 통하여 지어졌던 것입니다. 아무리 미미한 존재라도 하나님의 사랑의 심정을 통하여, 하나님이 소원하시는 자랑의 마음을 지닌, 그런 자리에서 지음 받은 것임에 틀림없습니다. 이런 점에서 보면 작게는 지극히 미미한 존재로부터 크게는 우리가 헤아릴 수 없는 광대한 우주에까지, 존재하는 모든 만물들은 하나님께서 자랑하고 싶으셨던 자랑의 존재로 지어졌음을 여러분들은 알아야 되겠습니다.

地上の生きとし生けるものも、双翼で飛ぶ鳥も、一つとしてなんじらと同じ衆生でないものはないのだ。経典の中には一事でも、われがおろそかにしたものはない、すぐにかれらの主に召集されるのである。

私が言う。「例えれば、ちょうどある感覚器官を具備していないまま生まれた人(つまり生まれつきの盲人、耳が聞こえない人、口のきけない人、足がなえた人などのような体の不自由な人たち)の意識は、外からは見えないが、彼らが刃物で傷つけられたり暴行されたりするとき、何の苦痛も痛みも感じないのではない。

これと同じように、土でできた存在(つまり鉱物や原子)、水でできた存在、……火でできた存在、……植物、……動物、……空気でできた存在も、それらの意識が苦痛を感じるのが、外から見えないだけであって、だからといって痛みを感じないのではない」。

花も、雄しべがキスしてくれるとき、雌しべは「ああ、うれしい！」と思うのです。そのような感覚がなければならないのではないですか。そのような感覚があるでしょうか、ないでしょうか。雄と雌の感覚は最高の感覚なのですが、その感覚を構成しているのは、五官的感覚の連結体によってできたというのです。これは理論的です。

五官的感覚で愛するというのは、男性と女性が対等な位置に造られたということです。レベルは低いのですが、共通分母で平準化され、その世界において統一的内容を備えているのです。ですから、男性と女性、まだは雄と雌になっているというのは、神様のすべての共通分母を公開的に分配されたことは間違いありません。これを否定することはできないのです。

物質から形成された人間の生理的機能が、心の知情意に完全に共鳴するのは、物質もやはり、知情意に共鳴できる要素をもっているという事実を立証するものにほかならない。このような要素が、物質の性相を形成しているために、森羅万象は、各々その程度の差こそあれ、すべてが知情意の感応体となっている。我々が自然界の美に陶酔して、それらと渾然一体の神秘境を体験できるのは、人間が被造物のこのような性相の中心ともなるからである。
原理講論、創造原理2.3.4

神様も御自身を誇りたいと思われたのです。遠い歴史前の時代に戻って、創造の世界を欽慕されていた創造主は、六日間で創造された創造物を見つめて喜ばれた、その時代を回想してみるとき、神様もつくられたすべての万物を通して、御自身を誇りたいと思われた心があったがゆえに万物を創造されたのは間違いありません。つくられたいかなる存在を見ても、そのような事情が絡まっているというのです。皆さんが見つめるこの被造世界、あるいはこの自然には、様々な被造物が存在しています。存在する万象は、いかなる過程を経て創造されたのでしょうか。

それは、創造主の精誠を込めた心情の過程を通してつくられたのです。いくら微々たる存在でも、神様の愛の心情を通して、神様が誇りたいと願われる心をもった、そのような場でつくられたことは間違いありません。このような点から見れば、小さくはごく微々たる存在から、大きくは私達が推し量れない広大な宇宙にまで、存在するすべての万物は、神様が誇りたいと思われた、自慢の存在としてつくられたことを、皆さんは知らなければなりません。

The sensation of male and female for each other is the best sensation, composed of all five senses linked together. Insects may be invisibly small, yet they have eyes, ears, noses, mouths and hands, don’t they? Look carefully at the lawn; so many insects are there! With their ears they hear; with their mouths they taste; with their reproductive organs they copulate and produce offspring—in this they are like humans, only the class is different. When insects reproduce and produce offspring so tiny you cannot see them, will the parents kill them, or protect and love them? [They protect them.] When they make love, do they do it with great pleasure? Or do they say, “I dislike it”? Which? In this they are just like humans! There is no denying that God gave all creatures the sensibility to love through their five senses. With respect to love, God created male and female to have equal value. Love is the common denominator, equalizing the low-level world of insects with the high-level human world. Whether men and women, or male and female creatures, all share this God-given common denominator.

The human body, though consisting of matter, fully responds physiologically to the emotion, intellect and will of the human mind. This demonstrates that matter has within itself elements that resonate with emotion, intellect and will—elements which constitute the internal nature of matter. God created every species of animal and insect to be preserved, that none becomes extinct. The food chain is balanced. While larger creatures eat smaller creatures, the larger ones do not reproduce as often. Many beasts of prey bear offspring only once every two years. For lions and tigers it is two years and eight months, almost three years. In contrast, rabbits bring forth their young every three months. By having many offspring, they provide food for the larger beasts as well as continue their own species. Adam and Eve create on behalf of God, and all things were created for the growth and perfection of Adam and Eve. They may sacrifice their lives, but they are assisting in the perfection of Adam and Eve’s bodies. For this reason, people are permitted to eat anything, whether plant or animal. Greek philosophy looks at the world as a constant struggle, every creature an enemy to one another. On the contrary, they are not enemies. Such ideas arose only as a result of the Human Fall. The Marxist dialectic as described in Das Kapital states that development comes about through struggle, but that is not true. Even the vilest germs disappear when faced with their natural enemies. Do you understand what I mean by natural enemy? A tiger is the natural enemy of a dog. When a dog sees a tiger, it freezes and trembles and crawls back into its dwelling to hide. Natural enemies balance each other; thus nature takes care of every circumstance that comes along. (May 10, 2003)
