It's a wrap for the STEAM Week at Tenby International Primary School!
Students from EY to Year 6 solved problems, designed inventions and worked together like true innovators in various activities such as understanding how water travels using various sensory methods, building flood barriers to save houses in flood prone areas, building dams to overcome water shortage caused by drought, and creating water filtration systems for areas with no access to clean water.
Students even got an opportunity to learn about global and local issues affecting water management from Dr Hong Chern Wern from @info.waterwatchpenang and were able to create their own water filter for use in an emergency.
When asked about his experience during STEAM Week, Yiu-Khye from Year 5 described it as eye opening as, even in this modern age, there are some parts of the world that lack access to clean water. "Being the leaders of the future, it becomes our duty to find a solution to such pressing issues using a STEAM approach."
We are proud of our students for their enthusiasm and hard work during the STEAM Week. Keep it up, future innovators! Find out more at our Open Day, STEAM Fest - this Saturday, 13 May.
