SF9 Urgent Matter That Must Be Addressed Immediately

Hello, Hwiyoung/Chani.

For KCONTACT4U, you and Hwiyoung/Chani had to film videos about Mexico. It was meant to appreciate the culture, but Hwiyoung and Chani’s skit became a problem. The hat, mustache, and guitar that was worn was seen as an insult, and the words “taco” and “coco” offended fans, as it sounded like Mexican fans were being seen as a joke. Mexican Mariachis are real people who work hard to make a living and share their culture, yet don’t get the respect they deserve, often placed in negative stereotypes.

Hwiyoung/Chani, SF9 has a lot of international fans, and there is a Mexican community in this fandom, so your actions can hurt them. 

We are saying this because we believe that Hwiyoung/Chani is a person who wants to learn. This is to educate and remind SF9 and its staff to be open to the global situation. If so, I would appreciate your respect and feedback (or apologies) on that part.
