■ Wavelength Practice and the O-Ring Test
— Establishing the Zero State for KiMu and Healing Practice

The practices shown in these photos are collectively known as Wavelength Practice.
Among them, the O-Ring Test is a foundational exercise in healing practice. Through finger contact and the subtle changes experienced between partners, practitioners begin to notice and recognize wavelength energy that ordinarily goes unnoticed.
The purpose is not simply to test finger strength. It is to calm the body and mind, observe both the partner’s condition and one’s own internal responses, and develop sensitivity to the flow of energy. This initial experience provides an important foundation for progressing into KiMu and healing practice.
Before beginning the O-Ring Test, it is essential to establish the body’s reference point—a neutral, or zero, state in which the body and mind are calm and free from unnecessary tension.
To prepare for this, practitioners may take three slow, deep breaths or perform three gentle forward bows, bending until they feel a comfortable stretch in the hamstrings. These preparatory movements help release excessive tension, stabilize breathing and posture, and deepen awareness of one’s present physical condition.
Slow, deep breathing can support vagal activity and parasympathetic regulation, helping the body and mind settle into a calm and receptive state. Bowing connects breathing, movement, and focused attention, serving as a physical and mental reset before the practice begins.
Only after returning to this zero state can practitioners more clearly recognize and distinguish their own subtle internal responses from the wavelength energy they perceive from outside themselves.
In Vipassana-Acupuncture Practice, one cannot begin the actual training without first establishing a clear reference point for the body and mind. In other words, it is difficult to proceed to the next stage without experiencing wavelength movement—a spontaneous movement of the body in response to the wavelength, rather than movement created by conscious thought or deliberate muscular force.
KiMu Practice helps practitioners release unnecessary physical and mental tension while developing a refined awareness of their internal responses and the flow of energy. Therefore, KiMu serves as an essential preparatory process, helping practitioners establish the zero state and experience natural wavelength movement before beginning Vipassana-Acupuncture Practice.

Sykesville, Maryland, Estados Unidos
