■ A Wonderful Day in Washington, D.C. with Keith’s Family

Today, I enjoyed a memorable day of sightseeing in Washington, D.C. with Keith and his family.

We left shortly after 8:00 in the morning and parked at the 1001 Pennsylvania Avenue Building. Just across the street stood the FBI headquarters, so our sightseeing began before we had even walked very far. ㅎㅎ

From there, we explored the heart of Washington, D.C., visiting the National Mall, the U.S. Capitol, the Washington Monument, the beautiful Smithsonian Gardens, and the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art. It was especially meaningful to see the Korean ceramics exhibition, along with many treasures representing the history, culture, and artistic spirit of Asia.

Walking through the nation’s capital, I could experience many different sides of America—its political history, national symbols, museums, gardens, and cultural heritage—all within a single day.

Just as we finished sightseeing and began our drive back, the rain started to fall. Traffic became a little heavy, but even the rain seemed to arrive at just the right moment, patiently waiting until our tour was over. ㅎㅎ

We arrived home at around 4:00 in the afternoon, tired but very happy. More than the famous places themselves, what made this day truly special was sharing the entire journey with Keith and his family.

Thank you for giving me such a warm and memorable day in Washington, D.C.

■ Un día maravilloso en Washington D. C. con la familia de Keith

Hoy disfruté de un día muy especial recorriendo Washington D. C. junto con Keith y su familia.

Salimos poco después de las ocho de la mañana y estacionamos en el edificio ubicado en 1001 Pennsylvania Avenue. Justo al otro lado de la calle se encontraba la sede del FBI, por lo que sentimos que nuestro recorrido había comenzado en cuanto bajamos del automóvil. ㅎㅎ

Desde allí caminamos por el corazón de Washington D. C. y visitamos el National Mall, el Capitolio de los Estados Unidos, el Monumento a Washington, los hermosos Jardines del Smithsonian y el Museo Nacional de Arte Asiático.

Fue especialmente significativo contemplar la exposición de cerámica coreana, junto con numerosas obras que reflejan la historia, la cultura y el espíritu artístico de diferentes países de Asia.

Al caminar por la capital de los Estados Unidos, pudimos experimentar en un solo día muchos aspectos del país: su historia política, sus monumentos nacionales, sus museos, sus jardines y su patrimonio cultural.

Justo cuando terminamos nuestro recorrido y comenzamos el viaje de regreso, empezó a llover. El tráfico se volvió un poco lento, pero parecía que hasta la lluvia había esperado pacientemente a que termináramos nuestra visita. ㅎㅎ

Llegamos a casa alrededor de las cuatro de la tarde, un poco cansados, pero muy felices. Además de conocer lugares famosos, lo que hizo que este día fuera verdaderamente especial fue poder compartir todo el recorrido con Keith y su familia.

Agradezco sinceramente a Keith y a su familia por haberme regalado un día tan cálido e inolvidable en Washington D. C.

■ Keith 가족과 함께한 워싱턴 D.C.의 멋진 하루

오늘은 Keith와 그의 가족들과 함께 워싱턴 D.C.를 관광하며 뜻깊고 즐거운 하루를 보냈다.

아침 8시를 조금 넘겨 출발하여 펜실베이니아 애비뉴 1001번지 빌딩에 주차했다. 길 건너편에는 FBI 본부 건물이 자리하고 있어 차에서 내리자마자 관광이 시작된 기분이었다. ㅎㅎ

그곳에서부터 워싱턴 D.C.의 중심부를 걸으며 내셔널 몰, 미국 국회의사당, 워싱턴 기념탑, 아름다운 스미스소니언 정원과 국립아시아미술관 등을 둘러보았다. 특히 한국 도자기 전시를 비롯하여 아시아 각국의 역사와 문화, 예술혼을 담은 여러 작품을 직접 볼 수 있어 더욱 의미가 깊었다.

미국의 수도를 걸으며 정치적 역사와 국가를 상징하는 건축물, 박물관, 정원과 다양한 문화유산을 하루 동안 함께 경험할 수 있었다.

마침 관광을 모두 마치고 돌아오는 길에 비가 내리기 시작했다. 차가 조금 막히기는 했지만, 비도 우리가 관광을 모두 마칠 때까지 기다렸다가 내린 것 같았다. ㅎㅎ

오후 4시쯤 집에 도착했다. 조금 피곤하기는 했지만 마음은 무척 즐거웠다. 유명한 장소를 둘러본 것도 좋았지만, Keith 가족과 하루의 모든 여정을 함께할 수 있었다는 것이 더욱 특별하고 소중했다.

워싱턴 D.C.에서 따뜻하고 기억에 남을 하루를 만들어준 Keith와 그의 가족들에게 감사드린다.
