1 Chronicles 16:23-24 

역대상 16장 

23. 온 땅이여 여호와께 노래하며 그의 구원을 날마다 선포할지어다

Sing to the LORD, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day.

24. 그의 영광을 모든 민족 중에, 그의 기이한 행적을 만민 중에 선포할지어다

Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.

Romans 10:13-14. 

로마서 10장

13. 누구든지 주의 이름을 부르는 자는 구원을 받으리라

for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

14. 그런즉 그들이 믿지 아니하는 이를 어찌 부르리요 듣지도 못한 이를 어찌 믿으리요 전파하는 자가 없이 어찌 들으리요

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

Jonah 1:17

요나 1장

17. ○여호와께서 이미 큰 물고기를 예비하사 요나를 삼키게 하셨으므로 요나가 밤낮 삼 일을 물고기 뱃속에 있으니라

Now the LORD provided a huge fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

Jonah 2:1~10

요나 2장

1. 요나가 물고기 뱃속에서 그의 하나님 여호와께 기도하여

From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the LORD his God.

2. 이르되 내가 받는 고난으로 말미암아 여호와께 불러 아뢰었더니 주께서 내게 대답하셨고 내가 스올의 뱃속에서 부르짖었더니 주께서 내 음성을 들으셨나이다

He said: “In my distress I called to the LORD, and he answered me. From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help, and you listened to my cry.

3. 주께서 나를 깊음 속 바다 가운데에 던지셨으므로 큰 물이 나를 둘렀고 주의 파도와 큰 물결이 다 내 위에 넘쳤나이다

You hurled me into the depths, into the very heart of the seas, and the currents swirled about me; all your waves and breakers swept over me.

4. 내가 말하기를 내가 주의 목전에서 쫓겨났을지라도 다시 주의 성전을 바라보겠다 하였나이다

I said, ‘I have been banished from your sight; yet I will look again toward your holy temple.’

5. 물이 나를 영혼까지 둘렀사오며 깊음이 나를 에워싸고 바다 풀이 내 머리를 감쌌나이다

The engulfing waters threatened me, the deep surrounded me; seaweed was wrapped around my head.

6. 내가 산의 뿌리까지 내려갔사오며 땅이 그 빗장으로 나를 오래도록 막았사오나 나의 하나님 여호와여 주께서 내 생명을 구덩이에서 건지셨나이다

To the roots of the mountains I sank down; the earth beneath barred me in forever. But you, LORD my God, brought my life up from the pit.

7. 내 영혼이 내 속에서 피곤할 때에 내가 여호와를 생각하였더니 내 기도가 주께 이르렀사오며 주의 성전에 미쳤나이다

“When my life was ebbing away, I remembered you, LORD, and my prayer rose to you, to your holy temple.

8. 거짓되고 헛된 것을 숭상하는 모든 자는 자기에게 베푸신 은혜를 버렸사오나

“Those who cling to worthless idols turn away from Godʼs love for them.

9. 나는 감사하는 목소리로 주께 제사를 드리며 나의 서원을 주께 갚겠나이다 구원은 여호와께 속하였나이다 하니라

But I, with shouts of grateful praise, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. I will say, ‘Salvation comes from the LORD.’ ”

10. ○여호와께서 그 물고기에게 말씀하시매 요나를 육지에 토하니라

And the LORD commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.

Jonah 3:1~10

요나 3장

1. 여호와의 말씀이 두 번째로 요나에게 임하니라 이르시되

Then the word of the LORD came to Jonah a second time:

2. 일어나 저 큰 성읍 니느웨로 가서 내가 네게 명한 바를 그들에게 선포하라 하신지라

“Go to the great city of Nineveh and proclaim to it the message I give you.”

3. 요나가 여호와의 말씀대로 일어나서 니느웨로 가니라 니느웨는 사흘 동안 걸을 만큼 하나님 앞에 큰 성읍이더라

Jonah obeyed the word of the LORD and went to Nineveh. Now Nineveh was a very large city; it took three days to go through it.

4. 요나가 그 성읍에 들어가서 하루 동안 다니며 외쳐 이르되 사십 일이 지나면 니느웨가 무너지리라 하였더니

Jonah began by going a dayʼs journey into the city, proclaiming, “Forty more days and Nineveh will be overthrown.”

5. 니느웨 사람들이 하나님을 믿고 금식을 선포하고 높고 낮은 자를 막론하고 굵은 베 옷을 입은지라

The Ninevites believed God. A fast was proclaimed, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth.

6. 그 일이 니느웨 왕에게 들리매 왕이 보좌에서 일어나 왕복을 벗고 굵은 베 옷을 입고 재 위에 앉으니라

When Jonahʼs warning reached the king of Nineveh, he rose from his throne, took off his royal robes, covered himself with sackcloth and sat down in the dust.

7. 왕과 그의 대신들이 조서를 내려 니느웨에 선포하여 이르되 사람이나 짐승이나 소 떼나 양 떼나 아무것도 입에 대지 말지니 곧 먹지도 말 것이요 물도 마시지 말 것이며

This is the proclamation he issued in Nineveh: “By the decree of the king and his nobles: Do not let people or animals, herds or flocks, taste anything; do not let them eat or drink.

8. 사람이든지 짐승이든지 다 굵은 베 옷을 입을 것이요 힘써 하나님께 부르짖을 것이며 각기 악한 길과 손으로 행한 강포에서 떠날 것이라

But let people and animals be covered with sackcloth. Let everyone call urgently on God. Let them give up their evil ways and their violence.

9. 하나님이 뜻을 돌이키시고 그 진노를 그치사 우리가 멸망하지 않게 하시리라 그렇지 않을 줄을 누가 알겠느냐 한지라

Who knows? God may yet relent and with compassion turn from his fierce anger so that we will not perish.”

10. 하나님이 그들이 행한 것 곧 그 악한 길에서 돌이켜 떠난 것을 보시고 하나님이 뜻을 돌이키사 그들에게 내리리라고 말씀하신 재앙을 내리지 아니하시니라

When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, he relented and did not bring on them the destruction he had threatened.
