3. The Spiritual Nature of Sickness
1. The spiritual nature of the disease
1) Since the root of the spiritual nature of illness is sin, to solve it spiritually, you must first solve the problem of sin.
2) Also, diseases are caused by the activities of Satan, a spiritual being.
Therefore, it is necessary to defeat Satan, the culprit of sin.
3) Therefore, disease, sinfulness, and Satan's role are related to each other. Therefore, there is a need for healing the sick and expelling evil spirits to go hand in hand.
(1) You need to understand why Jesus gave these two powers before sending out his disciples.
(Mat 10:1) -Jesus called the twelve and gave them power to cast out unclean spirits and to heal every disease and every disease (Mark 16:15-20)
(2) It was also proved by the work of Jesus Himself.
(Matthew 8:16-17)
When evening came, people brought many demon-possessed people to Jesus, and Jesus cast out demons with a word and healed all who were sick. He was carrying the
2. Train Your Children Through Illness
1) God sometimes allows sickness to train His children.
2) God allows His children to go the right way, in a spiritual sense, for a spiritual purpose.
3) If such a purpose is spiritual, it cannot be resolved only through physical treatment methods, and treatment must also be resolved spiritually.
4) In this case, the pain can be alleviated by the doctor's treatment, but a complete cure cannot be expected, and the spiritual problem must be resolved and the healing treatment must be received.
5) In the Bible, examples of forgiveness of sins and healing of diseases can be found in many places.
(Psalm 103:3) - He forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.
(Isa 33:24) -No resident will say, "I am sick," and the people who live there will be forgiven.
-1-
(Jas 5:15) -The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up, and if they have committed sins, they will be forgiven.
6) It is proved by the fact that whenever a spiritual revival takes place, it is accompanied by the work of healing in which physical diseases are healed.
7) When spiritual revival takes place, a movement of spiritual repentance takes place before physical diseases are healed, and people experience the work of God's power by being healed of physical diseases.
IV. Healng and The will of God
1. The biggest hindrance to enjoying the blessing of healing is ignorance of not clearly knowing God's will.
1) Believers do not know the will of God who comes before God and heals all diseases, and is half-confident.
(James 1:6-8)
But ask in faith, and do not doubt at all. He who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. Do not think that you will receive anything from the Lord.
2) All Christians must have the faith to believe that God is the Almighty who can do anything by faith.
3) Believers in God believe in the truth of salvation through faith. It is also believed that God always works miracles if he so desires. The power of healing is obtained through faith
4) It is necessary to know that God's will is good for His children. However, there are many people who are unfamiliar with the will of God.
(1) God's will is not poverty, sickness, loss, bereavement, infirmity, or emptiness.
(2) God's will is to live a life of wealth, health, hope, strength, and fullness of joy.
(3) God's will is not for your children to groan from illness, but for them to be healthy and live happily.
-2-
(1 Timothy 2:4) -God wants all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth (to be saved from all diseases and to know the truth of healing)
(4) God's will is for everyone to be healthy and live happily.
(1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
5) God's will for the sick is clearly stated in the Bible.
(Luke 5:12-13)
When Jesus was in a town, there was a man with leprosy all over his body. He said, "I will; be cleansed." And immediately the leprosy left.
2. The theology of the leper, who does not know God's will, is rampant.
1) if you want, if you can
(1) If you wish, speaking is an attitude of shifting the responsibility of the disease onto God.
(2) This is not a biblical attitude. If God doesn't want it, then my illness will remain, so it means that God is letting me get sick.
(3) What the Lord said about the words, if you can
(Mark 9:22-23)
The demon often threw me into fire and into water to kill me. But if you can do anything, have pity on us and help us. Jesus said, "What do you mean, if you can?" You say there is nothing impossible
(4) Can we pray to God like this?
Can you pray, if you will, save me? It does not agree with the Bible.
(5) God's will is for His children to live healthy lives without getting sick. And it is God's will that He wants to heal the sick.
-3-
(3 John 2) - Beloved, I want you to be in good health and doing well in all things, just as your soul is prospering.
(1Thess5:23) -May the God of peace Himself sanctify you wholly, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
(6) It is certain that it is God's will that He heal His children, whom He bought with blood, from diseases brought by the devil.
(7) For more than a thousand years, they have lived a life of faith according to human tradition rather than God's Word, so they have lived a foolish life without knowing God's will accurately and not enjoying the blessings of healing.
(Isa 55:8-9)
My thoughts are different from your thoughts, says the Lord, and my ways are different from your ways. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.
V. The Scripturalness of Divin Healing
1. Divine Healing in Old Testament
1) It takes a lot of time to discuss all the studies on healing mentioned in the Old Testament.
But you can have root promises, elements, and references.
2) The first record of healing in the Old Testament is mentioned in Abraham's prayer. It is a prayer asking God to heal Abimelech, his wife, and the maidservant so that they may produce.
(Genesis 20:17-18)
Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech, his son, and his maidservant, and made them bear children. For the Lord had now closed all wombs in Abimelech's house because of Abraham's wife Sarah
3) The covenant of healing in the Old Testament is frequently mentioned by the Israelites who miraculously crossed the Red Sea after exodus.
It is recorded in the events of the early days when they reached the Promised Land after a long journey in the wilderness by God's miracles.
-4-
(Ex 15:25-26)
Moses cried out to the Lord, and the Lord pointed him to a tree, and he threw it into the enclosure, and the water became sweet. If you obey and do what is right in my sight, if you listen to my commandments and keep all my statutes, I will not bring you any disease from the Egyptians, for I am the LORD who heals you.
(1) This promise is not a temporary one, but a precious covenant made permanently to each and every one of the people of Israel.
(2) Here the name of God's redemptive name Jehovah Rapha (God who heals) is used.
(3) Moses went to Pharaoh and gave up my people. Pharaoh, who rejected the word of God, faced the last disaster of destroying the firstborn, and the Israelites experienced the history of the passing of the disaster.
(Ex 3:13-14)
Moses said to God, "If I go to the children of Israel and say, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' they will ask me, 'What is his name?' What shall I say to them?" And he said to them, "Thus say to the Israelites, 'He who is, has given me to you.‘
(4) Jesus spoke his great name before the Jews: I was before Abram.
(John 8:58) -Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.“
(5) The writer of Hebrews wrote similar words like this.
(6) God's will to heal the sick is unchanging in any age.
(Exodus 15:26) -I am the Lord who heals you.
-5-
(Ps 105:37) -He led them to come out with silver and gold, and there was not a weakling among the tribes.
(7) This covenant is a promise of living universal health as long as the Israelites keep the covenant.
According to this promise, Miriam, who resisted Moses, was healed of leprosy.
(Numbers 12:1-14) -Miriam got leprosy while resisting Moses, and God healed her through repentance.
(Numbers16:41-50) -Seeing that the Israelites complained against their leader Moses and caused the plague to spread and kill many people, and God's wrath was withdrawn through repentance.
(Numbers 21:5) -When the Israelites obeyed God, it was smooth, but when they complained against Moses again, a fiery serpent was released and bitten, and the history of being healed again by attaching a bronze serpent through Moses' intercession is recorded.
(John 3:14) -As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up.
(8) Several other promises of God's healing in the Old Testament
(Exodus 23:25) -Serve the Lord your God, and the Lord will bless your food and water, and remove sickness from among you.
(Deut 7:15) -The Lord will also keep all disease away from you, so that the evil of Egypt, as you know it, will not come on you, but on all those who hate you.
(Deut 30:20) -Love the LORD your God, obey his commands, and submit to him. He is your life and your longevity. will do
(Psalm 34:19) -The righteous have many troubles, but the LORD delivers them from them all.
-6-
(Psalm91:9-10) -You said, "The Lord is my refuge," and you have made the Most High your dwelling place; so that misfortune shall not come upon you, and calamity shall not come near your tent.
(Psalm 103:2-3) -Praise the Lord, O my soul, and do not forget all his benefits. He forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.
(Psalm 107:20) -He sends his word and heals them and delivers them from peril.
(Proverbs 4:20-22) -My son, pay heed to my words, and give ear to what I say; do not let them depart from your eyes, but keep them in your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.

Looking at the above example, along with all the other covenants of the Old Testament, we can clearly see the evidence of Jehovah God as Israel's Healer.
(Exo 15:26) -I am the God of healing.
(11) The Lord God of Israel is the same God of healing in the past, now and forever (Hebrews 13:8).

2. Divine Healing in New Testament
1) Healing in the Ministry of Jesus
(1) God's will and the healing ministry of Jesus Christ
Jesus came to this world to fulfill the will of God the Father.
(John 6:38-39)
I have come down from heaven not to do my own will, but to do the will of him who sent me. This is the will of him who sent me, that I should not lose any of those he has given me, but will raise them up on the last day.
(2) Three aspects of the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ in the Gospels
① Teaching,
② Ministry of healing the sick (Healing),
③ The ministry of spreading the gospel (Preaching)
(3) Jesus said that the Father lives in me and does his work.(John 14:10)
① In the Bible, Jesus personally healed 27sick people with detailed records. There are also recorded cases of healing large numbers of people.
② Cases of casting out demons, cases of healing diseases, cases of healing accidents, cases of raising the dead, etc. He healed faithful people of faith honestly and freely.
③ Jesus' ministry of healing the sick was through word, touch, and anointing in various ways. He healed the sick even on the Sabbath, healed the sick who were within reach and the sick who were far away,
④ Seven times the ministry of casting out demons, eleven times when friends brought the sick, six times the patient healed by request, three times he healed the sick from a distance, and eight people touched them with their hands.
He was healed, and in seven cases, he was healed only with the word, and he was healed by spitting, and there are records of the ministry of healing in a variety of impressive ways.
-10-
(4) He said to his disciples that you will do greater things than me.
(John 14:12)
(5) The healing ministry of the four Gospels of Jesus

(Matthew 4:23-24)
Jesus went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.
News of him spread throughout Syria, and people saw all those who were sick with various diseases and afflictions, and those who had epilepsy. brought them, and he healed us.

(John 20:30-31)
Jesus performed many other signs before his disciples, which are not recorded in this book, but these are recorded so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that, having believed, you may have a birth in his name. Inira
(John 21:25)
There are many other things that Jesus did. If ten thousand were to be written down, I know that even the world would not contain the books that would be written.
Jesus Christ's ministry of healing was a truly amazing event, in which he healed all the sick and never refused a single person. He said that this Lord's healing ministry was the will of Heavenly Father.
2) Healing in the Ministry of the Disciples
(1) When Jesus was on earth, he did many works of healing, which was the will of God, and he gave his disciples authority and power to continue the work.
(2) That ministry is the ministry of healing the sick, raising the dead, and casting out demons, and it is the same ministry as all the works that Jesus did while he was in the flesh.
-13-
(Mat 10:1) -Jesus called the Twelve and gave them power to cast out unclean spirits and to heal every disease and disease.

The results are recorded in detail. (Luke 10:17-20)
(Mat 10:8) -Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons; freely ye received, freely give.
③ That power was given to be used permanently at the time of the descent of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost.
(John 14:16-17, Luke 24:49, Acts 1:8)
3. Healing in the Early Church
1) If you open the book of Acts, Luke, who wrote the Gospel of Luke, wrote the book of Acts. Luke recorded in the Gospel of Jesus what Jesus taught and did. So he commanded all believers to continue his works. (Mark 16:15-20)
2) Healing ministry through the apostles
(1) Healing ministry through the apostle Peter (Acts 3:6-16)
(Acts 3:6) -Peter said to him, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I have I give you; walk in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.“
(Acts 5:15-16)
They even carried the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and mattresses, hoping that as Peter passed by, who might at least cover his shadow, so many people from the towns and villages of Jerusalem gathered together, bringing the sick and those afflicted by unclean spirits, and they were all healed. Nira
(2) The ministry of healing through Deacon Stephen

(3) Healing ministry revealed through Deacon Philip
(Acts8:5-8)
Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to the people, and the crowds heard what Philip said and saw the signs he did, and with one accord they stopped what he was saying. And there was great joy in the city, because many paralytics and cripples were healed.
(4) Apostle Peter's ministry of healing
(Acts 9:32-35)
Then Peter went to and fro, and went down to the saints who lived in Lydda, where he met a man named Aeneas, who had been paralyzed in bed for eight years. Peter said to him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you; get up and take your bed. Immediately he got up, and when all the people of Lydda and Sharon saw him, they returned to the Lord.
(5) The ministry of saving Tabitha through the apostle Peter (Acts 9:36-42)

(Acts 14:8-10)

(7) Paul casts out the divination demon
(Acts 16:16-18)
As we were going to the place of prayer, we met a slave girl possessed by a spirit of divination, who increased her master's fortune by fortune-telling. They came after Paul and us, shouting, "These men are servants of the Most High God, and teach you the way of salvation. He said that he was a messenger and continued like this for many days. Then Paul was very distressed and turned around and said to the demon, "I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of him." And immediately the demon came out.
(8) Paul healed the sick in a strange way
(Ac 19:11-12)
God caused strange miracles to be performed by the hands of Paul, and people even took handkerchiefs or aprons from Paul's body and put them on the sick, and the disease left them, and the demons went out.
-15-
(9) Paul raised Eutychus from the dead (Acts 20:7-12)
(10) Paul's ministry of healing on the island of Miletus
(Acts 28: 8-9)
Bobulio's father was bedridden with fever and dysentery, and Paul went in and prayed and laid his hands on him and healed him. So other sick people from the island came and were healed, treated us generously, and when we left, they put our belongings on board the boat. more
Even now, the work of healing that God has prepared for mankind has not changed in the slightest since the days of the apostles.
After Christ died on the cross, was resurrected, and poured out the Holy Spirit, the Great Commission of Christ must still be carried out without change.
In order to fulfill the director's role, Jehovah Rapha's God's ministry of healing is a ministry that must be carried out even now. (Ex 15:26)
