Former Vice President Mike Pence unveiled an energy plan aimed at restoring American energy independence and surpassing China as the world’s top energy producer by 2040.
마이크 펜스 전 부통령은 2040년까지 미국의 에너지 독립성을 회복하고 중국을 제치고 세계 최고의 에너지 생산국으로 도약하기 위한 에너지 계획을 발표했다.
 
Pence’s plan includes opening up federal lands for new drilling, pursuing an “all of the above” energy strategy, increasing refining capacity, removing restrictions on natural gas production, and eliminating regulations that drive up electricity costs.
펜스 부통령의 계획에는 새로운 연방 토지 개방, 모든 것을 포함하는 에너지 전략 추구, 정제 능력 증대, 천연가스 생산 제한 철폐, 전기 요금 상승을 유발하는 규제 철폐 등이 포함되어 있다.
 
He also intends to roll back Biden-era energy regulations and shut down the Department of Justice’s Office of Environmental Justice. Pence supports permitting reform to expedite the approval process for energy projects.

While acknowledging the importance of renewables, Pence believes that a carbon-free power sector by 2035 is unrealistic. He emphasizes the inclusion of wind, solar, hydro, and ethanol in his energy plan.

Furthermore, one of the key goals in Pence’s plan is to support year-round access to gasoline blended with 15% ethanol (E15). This policy aligns with the desires of Iowa Republican leaders, who have been advocating for E15 to be available throughout the year. Pence highlights the success of ethanol in the Midwest and its positive impact on the agriculture economy.

The energy plan is Pence’s second policy proposal as he prepares to run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024. He plans to release additional proposals on national defense, public assistance programs, fiscal responsibility, and economic growth.
