Welcome to Jeju Stone Park!
We will explore the Jeju Stone Park and take a peek into jeju’s deep history. You can touch rocks from a time when there were volcanoes in Jeju.
Also on display at the Stone Park are rocks and minerals from abroad and meteorites. The mineral, rock and fossil collections have the power to educate and inspire visitors of all ages.
This place was a landfill until 15 years ago. Why was the landfill chosen as the site for the museum? The cause of landfill recycling was good. There was no protest from landowners against the forced selling of land!
During construction, the original low hill was preserved without filling or cutting, leaving the building exposed at a low level. The goal was to minimize destruction of nature and pursue harmony with the surrounding landscape.
Now we are passing through an old forest in Jeju, a natural forest. However, the roadbed is not as natural. When it rains, it becomes muddy, so they had no choice but to spread volcanic ash on the road.
