구더기 마고의 대모험

옛날 옛날, 숲속 작은 마을에 리나가 살고 있었어요. 리나는 요리를 참 잘했어요. 특히 호박을 좋아해 호박을 잘라 요리해 먹곤 했죠.

어느 날, 바깥에서 리나는 커다란 늙은 호박을 칼로 자르기 시작했어요. 그 순간, 호박 속에서 갑자기 징그러운 구더기가 휙 튀어나왔어요! 리나는 깜짝 놀랐어요.

구더기도 깜짝 놀라 숲속으로 도망갔답니다. 숲속에 들어선 구더기 마고는 너무 무서워서 떨기 시작했어요. 숲에는 자기를 잡아먹으려는 많은 위험한 생물들이 있었기 때문이에요.

첫 번째로 만난 것은 개구리였어요. 개구리는 마고를 보자마자 "아하, 오늘 저녁엔 너를 먹을 거야!" 하고 달려들었어요. 마고는 얼른 죽은 시늉을 했죠. 개구리는 마고가 죽은 줄 알고, 그냥 지나쳐갔어요.

마고는 또 다른 위험이 다가오는 걸 느꼈어요. 이번엔 독거미가 다가왔어요. 거미는 긴 다리를 쭉 뻗으며 마고를 향해 다가왔어요. "이리 와, 오늘 저녁은 너야!" 거미는 마고를 잡으려고 했죠. 그때 마고는 또다시 죽은 척하며 몸을 굳게 했어요. 거미는 마고가 죽었다고 생각하고, 지나쳐갔어요. 그렇게 마고는 숲속에서 여러 번 죽은 시늉을 하며 겨우 살아남았어요.

하지만 이제 더 이상 죽은 척만 할 수는 없었어요. 정말 위험한 순간이 다가오고 있었죠. 그때 마고는 자기를 잡아먹으려는 큰 부엉이가 날아오는 소리를 들었어요. 부엉이는 날개를 퍼덕이며 마고를 잡으려고 날아왔어요.

마고는 깜짝 놀랐어요. "이대로 잡히면 끝장이야! 더 이상 죽은 시늉만 할 수는 없어!" 그 순간, 마고에게 생각지도 못한 놀라운 일이 일어났어요. 마고는 몸을 움츠렸다가 공중으로 튀어 올랐어요! "어! 내가 점프를?" 마고는 깜짝 놀라며 한 번 더 점프를 했어요. 부엉이도 깜짝 놀라마고를 놓쳤고, 마고는 숲속에서 점프하며 위험을 피해갔어요.

그렇게 마고는 숲속에서 점프를 하며 살아남을 수 있었어요. 언제나 위험할 때면 점프를 해서 자신을 지킬 수 있었죠. 도마뱀이 다가오거나, 사나운 올빼미가 쫓아오면 마고는 재빠르게 점프를 하여 무사히 피할 수 있었어요.

그리하여 마고는 숲속에서 점프의 달인이 되었고, 위험을 피하며 숲을 빠져나올 수 있었답니다. "와! 나한테 점프하는 재주가 있었구나!" 마고는 너무 기뻤어요. 이제 마고는 항상 이렇게 말했어요. "어떤 어려움이 닥쳐도, 내가 할 수 있는 일이 분명히 있어! 나에겐 점프가 있잖아!".

그 후 마고는 친구들에게 자신이 숲속에서 겪은 무용담을 들려주며 자랑했어요. 그리고 친구들에게 점프하는 방법을 가르쳐 주었어요. “이렇게 몸을 움츠렸다가 점프를 해봐”.

“처음에는 잘 안 되지만 계속 해봐” “그러면 할 수 있어”

마고 덕분에 이제 친구들도 점프를 조금씩 하게 되었답니다. 이제 마고는 숲속에서 가장 용감한 구더기로 유명해졌답니다.

그러던 어느날 친구들에게 점프하는 방법을 가르쳐주고, 마고는 몹시 피곤하여 숲속에서 깜빡 잠이 들어버렸어요. 그때 꿈에 리나가 나타나 마고에게 “나를 위해 노래 하나 만들어 줄 수 있니”라고 말했어요. 마고는 깜짝 놀라 잠에서 깨어났어요. 그리곤 비몽사몽간에 기적과 같이 노래를 만들었어요.

하도 신기하여 친구들에게 꿈 얘기를 하며, 자신이 만든 노래를 들려주었어요. “그대를 만난 건 나에겐 행운이요. 그대를 알게 된 건 나에겐 기쁨이요. 그대를 사랑한 건 하늘의 축복이라. 지금의 이 행복 영원히 간직하리”. 그 노래를 듣고 친구들이 노래가 너무 좋다고 가르쳐달라고 졸랐어요.

그래서 자기가 만든 ‘그대를 사랑한 건’ 노래를 가르쳐 주었어요. 모든 친구들이 “마고가 최고야” 말하며 마고를 무척 좋아했어요. 이제 마고는 자신이 점프하는 재주만 있는 게 아니라, 노래하는 재주도 있다는 걸 알게 되었답니다. 이런 기적과 같은 일이 도무지 믿기지 않았어요.

그러던 어느날 리나가 숲속을 지나다가 노랫소리를 들었어요. 가까이 가보니 구더기들이 합창을 하고 있었어요. 하도 신기하여 구경을 하고 있는데 마고가 리나에게 다가갔어요. “리나! 나는 리나가 늙은 호박을 자를 때 리나를 깜짝 놀라게 한 구더기 마고야” “그땐 정말 미안했어”

“나는 숲속으로 도망가 죽을 고비를 넘기고 간신히 살아 남았어” 라며 마고는 리나 앞에서 점프를 하였어요. 리나는 깜짝 놀라며 마고를 경이로운 눈빛으로 바라보았어요.

이어서 마고는 리나에게 꿈 얘기를 했어요. 리나가 꿈에 나타나 기적과 같이 리나를 위한 노래를 만들었고. 아까 부르던 노래가 바로 그 노래라고. 그리곤 우리 구더기들이 리나를 위해 음악회를 열어주고 싶다고 제안했어요. 리나는 그 제안에 무척 놀라며 기뻤어요.

이윽고 숲속 마을에 리나를 위한 음악회가 열렸어요. 멋진 무대복과 백구두를 신고 마고가 선창을 하면 다른 친구들이 떼창을 하였어요.

“리나를 만난 건 나에겐 행운이요. 리나를 알게 된 건 나에겐 기쁨이요. 리나를 사랑한 건 하늘의 축복이라. 지금의 이 행복 영원히 간직하리. 때론 비가 와도 때론 눈이 와도 우리의 사랑은 언제나 변치 않으리라. 우리의 약속은 저 하늘 별처럼 녹슬지 않으리라”. 리나는 그 노래를 들으며 너무 너무 행복해 감동의 눈물을 흘렸어요.

리나는 마고에게 “이렇게 성대하게 나를 위해 음악회를 열어주어 정말 고마워” “예전에는 너희가 징그러워 도망갔는데, 이제는 오히려 자랑스러워”. “왜냐하면 썩은 것을 먹어 치워 지구를 깨끗이 청소 해주는 고마운 존재라는 것을 알았기 때문이야”라고 말했어요.

Maggot Margo's Big Adventure

Once upon a time, Lina lived in a small village in the woods. Lina was a good cook. She especially liked pumpkins, so she used to cut pumpkins and cook them.

One day, outside, Lina began to cut a big old pumpkin with a knife, and at that moment, a disgusting maggot suddenly popped out of the pumpkin! Lina was surprised.

The maggot were startled and fled into the woods. The maggot, Margo who entered the woods, was so scared that she began to tremble, for there were many dangerous creatures in the woods trying to eat Margo.

The first thing Margo saw was a frog, and as soon as he saw Margo, he said, "Aha, I'm going to eat you this evening!" Margo pretended to be dead, and the frog thought Margo was dead, so he walked by.

Margo felt another danger approaching, and this time the tarantula came, and the spider came toward Margo with its long legs outstretched, and it said, "Come on, it's you tonight!" And the spider tried to catch Margo. Then Margo stiffened, pretending to be dead again, and the spider thought Margo was dead, and passed on, and Margo managed to survive by pretending to be dead several times in the woods.

But Margo couldn't play dead any longer, and a really dangerous moment was coming, and then Margo heard a big owl coming to eat her, and the owl flapped its wings and flew in to catch Margo.

Margo was astonished. "If I get caught, I'm done! I can't pretend to be dead anymore!" And at that moment, an amazing thing happened to Margo that he didn't expect. Margo shrank and jumped up in the air! "Oh, I'm jumping?", Margo jumped one more time in astonishment. The owl astonished too and missed Margo, and Margo jumped in the woods and got away from the danger.

So Margo was able to survive by jumping in the woods, and Margo was always able to defend himself by jumping when he was in danger, and if a lizard came or a fierce owl came after him, he could jump quickly and avoid it safely.

So Margo became a master jumper in the woods, and he was able to get out of the woods without danger. "Wow! I had a talent for jumping!" Margo was so happy. Now Margo always said, "No matter what hardships come, there's definitely something I can do! I've got a jump!".

After that, Margo told his friends about his saga in the woods and showed them how to jump. “Why don't you shrink down like this and then jump?”

“It doesn't work at first, but keep trying” “Then you can do it”

Thanks to Margo, now his friends can do a little jumping. Now Margo is famous for being the bravest maggot in the forest.

Then one day, after teaching his friends how to jump, Margo was so tired that she fell asleep in the woods, and in a dream, Lina appeared and asked Margo “Can you write a song for me?”. Margo woke up with a start, and he wrote a song like a miracle in his sleep.

It was so amazing that Margo told his friends about his dreams and told them a song he made. “I'm lucky to have met you. It's a pleasure for me to know you. It's a blessing of heaven to love you. I'll cherish this happiness forever.” When they heard that song, his friends begged him to teach the song that was so good.

So he taught them a song that he made ‘I loved you’. All his friends liked Margo, saying “Margo was the best”. Now Margo knows that he's not only good at jumping, he's also good at singing. He couldn't believe this miracle.

Then one day, Lina was walking through the woods, and she heard a song, and when she got closer, she saw a chorus of maggots, and she's looking at it with such wonder, and then Margo came up to her, and he said, “Lina!, I'm the maggot that scared Lina when she cut the old pumpkin” “I'm really sorry about that, okay?”

Margo said to Lina "I escaped into the woods and passed the goblins and barely survived.", and Margo jumped in front of Lina. Lina looked at Margo with a marvelous eye.

Then Margo told Lina about his dream, and Lina appeared in his dream and miraculously wrote a song for Lina, and that's the song he was singing, and then our maggots suggested that they wanted to hold a concert for her. Lina was very surprised and pleased with the proposal.

Soon there was a concert for Lina in the village of the forest. "Margo was sing first in a wonderful stage suit and white shoes, and other friends shouted.

“I'm lucky to have met Lina. It's a pleasure for me to know Lina. It's a blessing of heaven to love Lina. I'll cherish this happiness forever. Sometimes it's raining, sometimes it's snowing, but our love will never change. Our promise will not rust like the stars in the sky.” Lina was so happy to hear the song that she was tearful of emotion.

Lina said to Margo, “Thank you so much for opening a concert for me so magnificently.” “In the past, I ran away and ran away that you guys are disgusting, but now I am rather proud.” “Because I knew that I was a thankful being to clean up the earth by eating rotten things.”
