Well done, Aiden!

We’re so proud of our Year 10 learner, Aiden, who spent part of his summer break representing Malaysia Select at the Bangkok Queen’s Cup International Ice Hockey Tournament in Thailand!

As goalie for the Under-16 team, Aiden went up against some of the region’s strongest young players, facing approximately 124 shots across five games and making an incredible 104 saves, the highest number of shots faced and saves made among the 13 goalies at the tournament.

It’s been quite a journey for Aiden, who first stepped onto the ice at just five years old with the Stavanger Oilers in Norway. Since then, he has gone on to represent Malaysia and play locally with the Storm Warriors in Kuala Lumpur and compete in international tournaments across the region.

Earlier this year, Aiden and the Storm Warriors also brought home silver from Bangkok, with Aiden earning MVP honours during the finals.

As Aiden continues to grow both as an athlete and as a young person, we’re proud to be part of his journey and to see him pursue his passion beyond the classroom.

His journey is a wonderful reflection of what it means to grow, achieve and find your own path as a Nexus learner. Well done, Aiden!

10학년 학생인 에이든이 태국에서 열린 방콕 퀸스 컵 국제 아이스하키 토너먼트에서 말레이시아 셀렉트를 대표해 여름 방학 일부를 보낸 것을 정말 자랑스럽게 생각합니다!

16세 이하 팀의 골키퍼로서 에이든은 지역에서 가장 강력한 젊은 선수들과 맞붙어 다섯 경기 동안 약 124개의 슈팅을 맞았고, 무려 104개의 선방을 기록하며 대회에 참가한 13명의 골키퍼 중 가장 많은 슈팅과 선방을 기록했습니다.

에이든에게는 꽤 긴 여정이었어요. 그는 노르웨이의 스타방에르 오일러스와 함께 다섯 살 때 처음 빙판 위에 섰거든요. 그 이후로 그는 말레이시아를 대표해 쿠알라룸푸르의 스톰 워리어스와 함께 국내 경기에 출전했으며, 지역 전역의 국제 대회에도 참가했습니다.

올해 초, 에이든과 스톰 워리어스는 방콕에서 은메달을 획득했으며, 에이든은 결승전에서 MVP를 차지했습니다.

에이든이 선수로서 그리고 한 사람으로서 성장해 나가는 모습을 보며, 그의 여정에 함께할 수 있어 자랑스럽고, 교실 밖에서도 열정을 이어가는 모습을 지켜보겠습니다.

그의 여정은 넥서스 학습자로서 성장하고 성취하며 자신만의 길을 찾는다는 것이 무엇인지 멋지게 보여줍니다. 잘했어, 에이든!
