 The 1st Principle : Sincerity(誠,성)... Devotion(True Heart)... The 1st Affair

 The 46th Application : prompt Obedience(迅命,신명)...
               Swiftlly Obeying Commands... the 53th Affair.

迅(신)은 빠른 것이며, 命(명)은 부모님의 명령이다.
 [ Sin(迅,신) means being swift,
   and Myeong(命,명) means the command of one′s parents.]

부모님의 명령이 있으면  자식은 받들어 움직여야 한다.
 [When there is acommand from the parents,
   the child must accept it and act upon it,]

그러나 부모님의 명령은 항상 자애로운 명령이므로
엄하게 엄격하게 시키시고 독촉을 하심이 자애로움이 아닌것 같다 하여
만약에 앞뒤를 서로 어긋나게 하고 느리고 급함이 적절하지 못하다면
비록 말로 표현하시지는 않는다 하여도 생각이 전 같지 않아지게 된다.
 [However, because parents′ commands always stem from parental love,
  if a child misunderstands their strict orders or constant urging as a lack
  of love ― thereby disrupting the proper order of things or failing
  to adjust their pace appropriately ― the parents′ mindset toward
  the child will change, even if they do not express it in words.]

큰 효도란 부모의 명령에 따르되 남김이 없게 한다.
 [Great filial piety means following the parents′ commands completely,
  leaving nothing undone.]

迅은 速也요 命은 父母之命也라 (신은 속야요 명은 부모지명야라)
 [ Sin(迅,신) is speed(速,속), and Myeong(命,명)
   is the command of the parents(父母之命, 무모지명).]   

父母有命이어시든 子必奉行이라 (부모유명이어시든 자필봉행이라)
 [ When parents issue a command, the child must reverently execute it.]

然이나 父母之命은 是慈愛之命故로 (연이나 부모지명은 시자애지명고로)
 [Howeve, since the commands of parents originate from parental love(慈愛,자애).]

嚴托督囑이 未有於慈愛之間이니 (엄탁독촉이 미유어자애지간이니)
 [Their strict entrustment and constant urging do not stray from the bounds of the love.]

若先後相左하여 緩急失當이면 (약선후상좌하여 완급실당이면)
 [If one confuses what comes first and last,
  or fails to balance speed and urgency properly.]  

口雖不言이나 意思則新이라 (구수불언이나 의사즉신이라)
 [Though the parents may not say it aloud,
  their inner thoughts regarding the child will become altered.]

是以로 大孝는 隨命無遺니라. (시이로 대효는 수명무유니라.)
 [Therefore, great filial piety(大孝,대효) lies in following their commands
   without leaving anything unfulfilled.]
