Good morning everyone. Our Old Testament readingfor Sunday worship service is Psalm 18:1-4 and our New Testament reading will be John 3:1-8. The text for my sermon is 2 Peter 1:1-15 and the title of my sermon is “By Way of Reminder.”

시편 18편1~4

Psalm 18:1-4 

1. 나의 힘이신 여호와여 내가 주를 사랑하나이다

I love you, LORD, my strength.

2. 여호와는 나의 반석이시요 나의 요새시요 나를 건지시는 이시요 나의 하나님이시요 

내가 그 안에 피할 나의 바위시요 나의 방패시요 나의 구원의 뿔이시요 나의 산성이시로다

The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;

my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,

my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

3. 내가 찬송 받으실 여호와께 아뢰리니 내 원수들에게서 구원을 얻으리로다

I called to the LORD, who is worthy of praise,

and I have been saved from my enemies.

4. 사망의 줄이 나를 얽고 불의의 창수가 나를 두렵게 하였으며

The cords of death entangled me;

the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.

요한복음 3장1~8

John 3:1-8

1. 그런데 바리새인 중에 니고데모라 하는 사람이 있으니 유대인의 지도자라

Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council.

2. 그가 밤에 예수께 와서 이르되 랍비여 우리가 당신은 하나님께로부터 오신 선생인 줄 아나이다 하나님이 함께 하시지 아니하시면 당신이 행하시는 이 표적을 아무도 할 수 없음이니이다

He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.”

3. 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 진실로 진실로 네게 이르노니 사람이 거듭나지 아니하면 하나님의 나라를 볼 수 없느니라

Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”

4. 니고데모가 이르되 사람이 늙으면 어떻게 날 수 있사옵나이까 두 번째 모태에 들어갔다가 날 수 있사옵나이까

“How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their motherʼs womb to be born!”

5. 예수께서 대답하시되 진실로 진실로 네게 이르노니 사람이 물과 성령으로 나지 아니하면 하나님의 나라에 들어갈 수 없느니라

Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.

6. 육으로 난 것은 육이요 영으로 난 것은 영이니

Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.

7. 내가 네게 거듭나야 하겠다 하는 말을 놀랍게 여기지 말라

You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’

8. 바람이 임의로 불매 네가 그 소리는 들어도 어디서 와서 어디로 가는지 알지 못하나니 성령으로 난 사람도 다 그러하니라

The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

베드로후서 1장1~15

2 Peter 1:1-15

1. 예수 그리스도의 종이며 사도인 시몬 베드로는 우리 하나님과 구주 예수 그리스도의 의를 힘입어 동일하게 보배로운 믿음을 우리와 함께 받은 자들에게 편지하노니

Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours:

2. 하나님과 우리 주 예수를 앎으로 은혜와 평강이 너희에게 더욱 많을지어다

Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

3. 그의 신기한 능력으로 생명과 경건에 속한 모든 것을 우리에게 주셨으니 이는 자기의 영광과 덕으로써 우리를 부르신 이를 앎으로 말미암음이라

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

4. 이로써 그 보배롭고 지극히 큰 약속을 우리에게 주사 이 약속으로 말미암아 너희가 정욕 때문에 세상에서 썩어질 것을 피하여 신성한 성품에 참여하는 자가 되게 하려 하셨느니라

Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

5. 그러므로 너희가 더욱 힘써 너희 믿음에 덕을, 덕에 지식을,

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge;

6. 지식에 절제를, 절제에 인내를, 인내에 경건을,

and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness;

7. 경건에 형제 우애를, 형제 우애에 사랑을 더하라

and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.

8. 이런 것이 너희에게 있어 흡족한즉 너희로 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 알기에 게으르지 않고 열매 없는 자가 되지 않게 하려니와

For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9. 이런 것이 없는 자는 맹인이라 멀리 보지 못하고 그의 옛 죄가 깨끗하게 된 것을 잊었느니라

But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.

10. 그러므로 형제들아 더욱 힘써 너희 부르심과 택하심을 굳게 하라 너희가 이것을 행한즉 언제든지 실족하지 아니하리라

Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm‎ your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble,

11. 이같이 하면 우리 주 곧 구주 예수 그리스도의 영원한 나라에 들어감을 넉넉히 너희에게 주시리라

and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

12. ○그러므로 너희가 이것을 알고 이미 있는 진리에 서 있으나 내가 항상 너희에게 생각나게 하려 하노라

So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have.

13. 내가 이 장막에 있을 동안에 너희를 일깨워 생각나게 함이 옳은 줄로 여기노니

I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body,

14. 이는 우리 주 예수 그리스도께서 내게 지시하신 것 같이 나도 나의 장막을 벗어날 것이 임박한 줄을 앎이라

because I know that I will soon put it aside, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me.

15. 내가 힘써 너희로 하여금 내가 떠난 후에라도 어느 때나 이런 것을 생각나게 하려 하노라

And I will make every effort to see that after my departure you will always be able to remember these things.
