Year 3 Entry Point - Active Planet 액티브 플래닛

To kickstart our Active Planet IPC unit, Year 3 travelled back in time to AD 79 to experience the dramatic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in Pompeii! The children learnt about the different parts of a volcano and explored why this famous eruption happened. Working in teams, they used modelling clay to build Mount Vesuvius and Lego to create the city of Pompeii, showing fantastic cooperation and respect. As they listened to the story, they created tremors, ash clouds and an erupting volcano using baking soda, vinegar and food colouring, before burying Pompeii in ash. They also reflected thoughtfully on how the residents might have felt at the time. The children were incredibly engaged and had an amazing start to the unit!

액티브 플래닛 IPC 유닛을 시작하기 위해 3학년은 서기 79년으로 거슬러 올라가 폼페이의 베수비오 산의 극적인 분화를 경험했습니다! 아이들은 화산의 다양한 부분에 대해 배우고 이 유명한 분화가 일어난 이유를 탐구했습니다. 팀을 이루어 점토 모델링을 사용하여 베수비오 산을 만들고 레고를 만들어 폼페이 도시를 만드는 등 환상적인 협력과 존중을 보여주었습니다. 이야기를 들으면서 베이킹 소다, 식초, 식용 색소를 사용하여 진동, 화산재 구름, 분출 화산을 만든 후 폼페이를 재에 묻었습니다. 또한 당시 주민들이 느꼈을 감정에 대해서도 깊이 생각해 보았습니다. 아이들은 놀라운 몰입도로 유닛의 시작을 알렸습니다!
