Cultural Exchange with Taiwan Tainan University of Technology: A Vibrant Learning Experience (Part II)
On Friday, 5 July, a distinguished group of five professors from the Taiwan Tainan University of Technology, led by Professor Liu Yu-Chuan, were warmly welcomed by our school's Senior Leadership Team. The purpose of their visit was to conduct a cultural exchange session with our Year 6 to Year 9 students who are currently studying Chinese or Mandarin.
The professors introduced our students to the rich traditions of the Hakka culture, spotlighting unique elements such as the Hakka Blue Shirt and Radish Cake. The session began with an engaging theoretical introduction to these cultural practices, providing students with valuable context and background.
Following the introduction, the students were divided into pairs and groups to participate in interactive, hands-on activities. They immersed themselves in making Hakka Blue Shirt Pendants and frying Radish Cakes, experiencing the culture in a tangible and memorable way.
The exchange proved to be highly engaging, with students enthusiastically engrossed in the activities. The session not only enriched their understanding of Hakka traditions but also fostered a deeper appreciation for cultural diversity.
This cultural exchange with the Taiwan Tainan University of Technology was a vibrant and enriching experience, leaving a lasting impact on our students and strengthening the bonds of international friendship and understanding.
