쾰른 대성당

[해뜰]

Last Monday, I flew to 뒤셀도르프 on a business trip.
After a busy week of work, I decided to treat myself this morning with a short trip to 쾰른.
I hopped on an early express train and arrived at 쾰른 central station.
The weather was windy and quite chilly, II was so freezing since I only wore a short-sleeved shirt.
But as soon as I stepped out of the station, the magnificent 쾰른 대성당 came into view, and I was completely overwhelmed by its glory.
 
Since it was Sunday,  Mass was being held, and I joined in.
I even received a blessing from the Catholic priest and felt deeply moved.
Attending mass in such an iconic cathedral turned out to be an unforgettable experience.
I came back to 뒤셀도르프 and now I’m on a layover at 코펜하겐 airport, waiting for my flight to Incheon.
It’s been a tiring week with long flight and time zone changes, but this little adventure in 쾰른 made the whole trip worthwhile...

글 읽으며 문득 십여 년 전
제 기억 하나를 떠올리게 됩니다.
It reminds me of my experience of
getting lost and feeling down
in front of Trier Cathedral in Germany.

오래전
교과서를 실물로 만났던 경이로움에
외관만 보고 감탄하며 지나쳤던.. 기억 있어요.
