Year 1 Entry Point - The Earth Our Home

Dressing up as insects was so much fun! All of Year 1 arrived at school transformed into a wonderful variety of bugs. As we admired each other’s costumes, the children began discussing where insects live. This led to an exciting idea that we should build our own habitats!

Armed with boxes, green and brown paint, leaves, and plenty of tape, we worked together to create safe and cosy insect homes. But why do insects need habitats? Through our discussions, we realised that insects need safe places to hide and live, especially when predators are nearby.

And just as we finished building, a giant monitor lizard appeared, and he was hungry! Thankfully, we quickly hid inside our carefully constructed habitats and stayed safe when he came looking for his lunch.

곤충 분장을 하는 것은 정말 재미있었어요! 1학년이 모두 멋진 벌레로 변신한 채 학교에 도착했습니다. 서로의 의상에 감탄하면서 아이들은 곤충이 어디에 사는지에 대해 이야기하기 시작했습니다. 이로 인해 우리만의 서식지를 만들어야 한다는 흥미로운 생각이 들었습니다!
상자, 녹색과 갈색 페인트, 나뭇잎, 넉넉한 테이프로 무장한 우리는 안전하고 아늑한 곤충 서식지를 만들기 위해 함께 노력했습니다. 하지만 곤충에게 서식지가 필요한 이유는 무엇일까요? 토론을 통해 곤충이 특히 포식자가 가까이 있을 때 안전하게 숨고 살 수 있는 장소가 필요하다는 것을 깨달았습니다.
그리고 공사를 마치자마자 거대한 모니터 도마뱀이 나타나 배가 고팠습니다! 다행히도 우리는 정성스럽게 조성된 서식지 안으로 빠르게 숨어서 그가 점심을 찾으러 왔을 때 안전하게 지낼 수 있었습니다.
