OPERATIONS MANAGER – HNL Honolulu Airport - Full Time
Salary based on qualifications and experience + Benefits
Weekends and holidays required as needed
COMPANY BACKGROUND:
Smarte Carte, Inc. is the leading concessionaire of self-serve vended luggage carts, electronic lockers, commercial strollers and massage chairs, as well as other passenger and guest services.
Smarte Carte is headquartered in St. Paul, MN and has operations in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom and Singapore.
BASIC JOB FUNCTION:
Assist with overall responsibility for a multi-million dollar P&L, with the expectation to deliver profitable results vs. annual and strategic plans. This is a highly visible position, which will drive value and significantly impact bottom-line profitability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead a team of 10-25 associates.
Ensure daily operational performance goals are met through managing the labor force, and applying proven improvement methodologies (Lean and Six Sigma) to improve productivity and vend quality.
Assist in new business development; airport services, other vending opportunities.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within the airport community as well as with peers within Smarte Carte.
Understand key drivers and use data and analytical tools to drive business decisions.
Other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 1 year of experience in operational functions such as manufacturing, logistics, distribution, process improvement, etc.
Minimum 1 year of direct management experience.
Ability to manage across a wide range of capabilities and personalities.
Demonstrated strategic leadership, planning and critical thinking skills, business assessment expertise, and value chain approach.
Experience working in a cross-functional team environment.
Proven change management leadership capability.
Demonstrated business experience with a proven track record of success in an operational environment.
Ability to foster relationships with external parties; customers, clients, supplier partners, etc.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Financial and analytical skills; must be proficient in reading, interpreting, and analyzing financial statements, and understand how operational KPI’s affect financial outcomes.
Organized and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
P&L management a plus, but not required
Licenses & Certifications:
Valid Drivers’ license
Ability to get an Airport Badge required
SKILLS:
Professionalism/Customer Service - work in a professional manner and use courtesy when dealing with all airport customers, clients and staff.
Ability to communicate both written and verbally
Maintain good communication and cooperation with hourly employees, other location managers and facility management.
Understand and apply health and safety standards
