⛅🏞️Tåsinge, Denmark. ‘I was out walking the dogs early in the morning in the forest close to where I live, which is also adjacent to Valdemars Slot. I could see the sky was developing into something spectacular and so I returned to my van where, fortunately, I had my camera. It’s a short drive through the forest to the slot (castle) where I got this image of the tea pavilion and some of the castle’s other outbuildings.’ # David Whitfield

🐀유럽물쥐(Arvicola amphibius) 또는 북부물쥐는 반수생 설치류이다. 흔히 비공식적으로 물쥐라고 불리지만, 생김새는 쥐와 겉모습만 비슷할 뿐이다. 물쥐는 쥐보다 코가 둥글고, 짙은 갈색 털에 통통한 얼굴, 짧고 솜털 같은 귀를 가지고 있다. 쥐와 달리 꼬리, 발, 귀에는 털이 나 있다. 야생에서 물쥐의 평균 수명은 약 5개월이다. 사육 환경에서의 최대 수명은 2년 반이다. 웨일스 천연자원국은 2009년에 거의 천 마리의 물쥐를 방사했다. 물쥐의 길이는 14~22cm에 달하고 꼬리는 몸 길이의 약 절반에 이른다. 성인에 대해 보고된 체중은 다양하다. 크고 최적의 성체의 체중은 225~386g까지 가능하다. 하지만 이는 최대 체중이다. 유럽 물쥐는 전체적으로 균일한 짙은 갈색이며, 배 쪽은 약간 더 옅은 색을 띈다. 털은 매우 두껍고, 쥐와 달리 꼬리를 포함한 몸 전체에 털이 나 있다. 그들의 어두운 색깔은 그들이 서식하는 빽빽한 초목 지역에 잘 섞이도록 해준다.
