GM chat on MSN
FineAssman55 in Onstage_1 asks: Are there any other CD signings coming up in the near future?
MSNLive_Star says: I have let my fans know it depends on how the year goes, how I'm feeling. I've gotten my summer writing ability back and I don't want to do anything to jepordize that.
MSNLive_Star says: I'm doing the one in L.A. today but I don't know of plans for any others. I may do one in New York when I'm there, but I've not heard of any more.
DishDiva says: Are the fans different around the world? UK vs. US for instance?
8Thank you! Our guest has received your question and will make every effort to answer it. However, due to the large number of questions submitted, not all questions can be answered.
MSNLive_Star says: I think in all honesty I think there's a possibility I've lost more fans in the states by revealing my sexuality than in Europe. Maybe not, but that's the impression I've gotten from my website.
jcweho in Onstage_1 asks: Hi george .am i going to see you at virgin records tonight?! Cannot wait!
MSNLive_Star says: Yes, the one on Crescent Heights and Sunset, I'll be there from 7pm on signing and smiling (laughs).
DishDiva says: That's pretty cool. Do you get nervous doing in stores?
MSNLive_Star says: This is nerve wracking for me because I haven't done it for the better part of 20 years. I'm kind of a shy person.
MSNLive_Star says: I'm hoping it will be a plesant experience, just an unusual one for me.
DishDiva says: So for everyone here who is in LA, makesure you go visit George this afternoon!
Manolis_Varnasactor1 in Onstage_1 asks: George do you still feel nervous when you sing live on stage in front of thousands of people when you are on tour?
MSNLive_Star says: I've never felt nervous in front of thousands of people, that's the strange thing. If there are thousands of people I am very confident. If there are only a handful, I'm a shy person. No one gets to hear me sing at the dinner table.
DishDiva says: Do you sing in the car?
MSNLive_Star says: Only when I'm alone. (laughs)
DishDiva says: I find that you know you are really good friends when you sing in front of each other.
MSNLive_Star says: Sing or fart, one of the two. (laughs)
ablazemichelle in Onstage_1 asks: Is this really you, George?
8Thank you! Our guest has received your question and will make every effort to answer it. However, due to the large number of questions submitted, not all questions can be answered.
MSNLive_Star says: Yes, very definitely. Believe me I wouldn't subject the world to any of the people around me. (laughs)
DishDiva says: Quite fond of them, are you?
MSNLive_Star says: I think they might abuse the privilege a little if they got online. Just to take the piss out of me. (laughs)
soulsingersongs in Onstage_1 asks: Hi, George. I'm producing Jim Verraros from American Idol Top 10. We're both looking forward to seeing you tonight at Virgin. Will you be having a U.S. tour?
DishDiva says: Are you doing any performances worldwide?
MSNLive_Star says: If I do, I'd love to play the Forum again. Like I said, I really don't know yet.
DishDiva says: Do you have any European?
MSNLive_Star says: I'm not sure about that either. I'd be surprised if there weren't any European dates, but it's all still up in the air.
DutchyATL in Onstage_1 asks: Hi George, do you think your music is more appreciate in Europe because listeners there appreciate a larger diversity in the charts?
MSNLive_Star says: I'm not really sure, the truth is I haven't promoted here therefore I've disappeared. I have a feeling if they would have heard the music and it would have been the same.
DishDiva says: helennic says: How much has your music changed since the 80's?
MSNLive_Star says: I like to think it's changed in that it's more sophisticated, stands the test of time more, I'm just trying to do what I've always done, just better.
DishDiva says: jillian says: Do you care what the critics say?
MSNLive_Star says: I'd love to say no. The only ones that bug me are generally constructive and they make critisism, you have to take them seriously. You can't help but be curious. To be honest, I've had a lot of great reviews, but I don't think the reviewers understand the
MSNLive_Star says: lyrics. Most of the are half my age now so I shouldn't be surprised really.
DishDiva says: Do you have a favorite place you have toured or a performance that really stands out for you?
MSNLive_Star says: I think probably the last Wham show Wembley was the most momentous time of my life. It was a mixture of pride and sadness.
soulsingersongs in Onstage_1 asks: How tough do you think it is for an openly gay artist to get a deal? Do you think if the music is good enough, A&R won't take sexuality into consideration?
MSNLive_Star says: I think we've at least in Europe we've gotten to the state where if the material is good enough, then the sexuality is irrelevant. In America I think there's a way to go before that happens.
DishDiva says: whamfan says: Hi George! Did you always know you were going to be an artist?
MSNLive_Star says: It's all I wanted since I was 7 or 8 years old. I had a strange determination and I was completely convinced it would happen for me. I couldn't say I knew I would be an artists, I just had a feeling I would have a voice in this world.
MSNLive_Star says: Some of the things that have happened since my mother and old partner have died, life is probably a cycle, things happen before, sometimes you can sense your own future. I never dreamed I would be this successful. But I did have an intrinsic belief I was
MSNLive_Star says: going to be heard.
DishDiva says: georgemichaelfan1 says: What do think when you you look back and see your videos?
MSNLive_Star says: I have to say, even though I'm very proud of Wham, I'm not altogether proud of all the videos. But everything you do leads to where you are today, so it's best not to regret.
DishDiva says: Any thoughts on the big hair back then?
MSNLive_Star says: Only that I've learned how to use a hair dryer now. (laughs)
DutchyATL in Onstage_1 asks: What is the big thought behind "Patience"? What inspired you to make this album?
MSNLive_Star says: The inspiration behind this album was to survive. I was obsessed with this album because it's all my life was about to arrive at a finished album. Some of the album was molded by the time we're living. But the major thing was to make an album that
MSNLive_Star says: wouldn't let people down. That was my obsession.
Tankey95 in Onstage_1 asks: Do you and Andrew still keep in touch?

MSNLive_Star says: Yes. I spent New Year at Andrew's house. He lives 4 hours away from me by road and he comes to see me when he's in London. It's still a good relationship with him, I tend to hold onto my friends.
kim10705 in Onstage_1 asks: George, from your FAITH CD...which is your favorite song?
MSNLive_Star says: I guess it would have to be "One More Try" not as a record, but as a heart felt song. I think it was the highlight of the album.
soulsingersongs in Onstage_1 asks: When you write music, do you usually come up with melody, chords progressions or lyrics first. I suppose it varies, but I'm curious if there's a way that happens more often.
MSNLive_Star says: Not really, it can be any one of those three things. I just grab the inspiration where I can find it.
DutchyATL in Onstage_1 asks: Your new song "American Angel" has a lot of different themes. What is at the core of that song?
MSNLive_Star says: I think really at the core is the way that Kenny stood by me through my depression. The day or day after I met Kenny my mother told me she had cancer. So he never knew me without this terrible thing hanging over me. So the fact that he's stood by me.
ManishDixit in Onstage_1 asks: George, I noticed that from the US release of Patience did not have Shoot the Dog in it. Why do you think that happened?
MSNLive_Star says: Basically I was asked to leave it off the album because they didn't want the controversy, Walmart not stalking it or whatever. It wasn't really written for the U.S. it was written to warn the British about Blair's relationship with Bush. I understand how
Manolis_Varnasactor1 in Onstage_1 asks: george are you planning to work with elton john again and record another song together you are a great artist?
MSNLive_Star says: confusing and frightening this situation is for America and it's a small sacrifice.
MSNLive_Star says: It's a small record and we probably won't reproduce that.
kim10705 in Onstage_1 asks: Do you know when your OPRAH interview will be on? And what made you do OPRAH?
MSNLive_Star says: I think it's either Tuesday or Wednesday, and I did Oprah simply because it's so close to my demographic and it was really weird, it was the first time I have experienced being a nostalgia act. People were going crazy. I think that's what a come back
MSNLive_Star says: feels like.
DishDiva says: I am sure you are so busy lately. What is your idea of a perfect day off?
MSNLive_Star says: A perfect day off is to hang out in our house in the country with Kenny and my dogs, Megan and Abby, and not have anything to do but watch TV and eat.
neptune3764 in Onstage_1 asks: George which is your favorite album of yours?
neptune3764 in Onstage_1 asks: George, out of your entire catalog of songs, which is the MOST heart felt for you?
MSNLive_Star says: At the moment I would say "Patience" because I really believe it's my best album. It's always hard to say. In a year's time it may be a toss up between "Patience" and "Older."
MSNLive_Star says: I can't pick one because they all mean different things to me.
Tankey95 in Onstage_1 asks: My brother lost his partner of 15 years in December and we lost our mother in 1997, listening to your music always has a calming effect on me, thank you.
MSNLive_Star says: That's really sweet. I think that's one of the most gratifying parts of my career. I know that album and sharing that experience I'd had with Anselmo, there's a lot of hope and positive feeling and I'm glad it helped you.
MSNLive_Star says: That whole incident in the park was a publicity stunt and actually I'm in Spearmint Rhino five nights a week. (laughs)
DishDiva says: George, thanks for being here today to talk with your fans around the world about "Patience."
MSNLive_Star says: I think you'll all love the video for "Flawless" and will be on MTV by the weekend.
DishDiva says: Thanks to George Michael for being our guest today.
