IV. 하느님을 대변하는 음성

20 It is possible even in this world to hear only that Voice and no other. It takes effort and great willingness to learn. It is the final lesson that I learned, and God's Sons are as equal as learners as they are as Souls. The Voice of the Holy Spirit is the call to Atonement or the restoration of the integrity of the mind. When the Atonement is complete and the whole Sonship is healed, there will be no call to return, but what God creates is eternal. The Holy Spirit will remain with the Sons of God to bless their creations and keep them in the light of joy.

​20 이 세상에서조차 오로지 그 음성만 듣고, 다른 것은 듣지 않는 것이 가능하다. 이것을 배우려면 큰 노력과 용의가 필요하다. 그것은 내가 배운 마지막 레슨이었다. 그리고 하느님의 아들들은 영혼이라는 면에서 동등하듯이 배우는 자로서도 동등하다. 성령의 음성은 실로 속죄로의 부름, 즉 마음의 완전한 상태를 회복하라는 부름이다. 속죄가 완성되고 온아들 전체가 치유되면 돌아오라는 부름은 없겠지만, 하느님이 창조하신 것은 영원하다. 성령은 하느님의 아들들 곁에 남아서 그들의 창조물들을 축복하여 계속 기쁨의 빛 속에 간직할 것이다.

21 You are the Kingdom of Heaven, but you have let the belief in darkness enter your minds, and so you need a new light. The Holy Spirit is the radiance that you must let banish the idea of darkness. His is the glory before which dissociation falls away and the Kingdom of Heaven breaks through into its own. Before the separation you did not need guidance. You knew as you will know again, but as you do not know now. God does not guide because He can share only perfect knowledge. Guidance is eval‎uative because it implies that there is a right way and also a wrong way, one to be chosen and the other to be avoided. By choosing one, you give up the other.

21 네가 바로 천국이건만, 너는 어둠에 대한 믿음이 마음에 들어오도록 허용했기에 새로운 빛이 필요하다. 성령이 바로 그 광휘로서, 너희는 그 광휘가 어둠의 아이디어를 몰아내도록 허용해야 한다. 그 앞에서 해리가 사라져버리고 천국이 홀연히 자신의 것으로 나타나는 영광은 성령의 것이다. 너는 분리 이전에는 안내가 필요 없었다. 너는 앞으로 다시 알 것이듯 그때도 알았지만, 지금은 알지 못한다. 하느님은 오로지 완벽한 앎만을 공유하실 수 있기에, 안내하지 않으신다. 안내는 평가적이다. 그것은 바른 길은 물론 그른 길도 있으며, 그중 하나를 선택하고 다른 하나는 피해야 함을 함축하기 때문이다. 너는 그중 하나를 선택함으로써 다른 하나를 포기한다.

22 This is a conflict state. It means that knowledge has been lost because knowledge is sure. God is not in you in a literal sense; you are part of Him. When you chose to leave Him, He gave you a Voice to speak for Him because He could no longer share His knowledge with you without hindrance. Direct communication was broken because you had made another voice through another will. The Holy Spirit calls you both to remember and to forget. You have chosen to be in a state of opposition in which opposites are possible. As a result, there are choices which you must make. In the holy state, the will is free in the sense that its creative power is unlimited, but choice itself is meaningless.

​22 이것은 과연 갈등상태다. 이것은 앎이 상실되었음을 의미한다. 왜냐하면 앎은 확실하기 때문이다. 하느님은 문자 그대로의 의미로 네 안에 계시는 것이 아니다. 너는 곧 하느님의 일부다. 네가 하느님을 떠나기로 선택했을 때, 하느님은 더 이상 당신의 앎을 너와 방해 없이 공유하실 수 없었기에, 당신을 대변할 음성을 주셨다. 직접적인 소통이 중단된 이유는, 네가 다른 뜻을 통해 다른 음성을 만들었기 때문이다. 성령은 너에게 기억하라고 청할 뿐만 아니라, 잊으라고도 청한다. 너는 상반된 것들이 가능한 대립 상태에 있기로 선택했다. 그 결과 네가 선택해야만 하는 대안들이 실로 존재한다. 거룩한 상태에서는 뜻의 창조력이 제한되어 있지 않다는 의미에서, 뜻은 자유롭다. 반면에 선택은 무의미하다.

​23 Freedom to choose is the same power as freedom to create, but its application is different. Choosing means divided will. The Holy Spirit is one way of choosing. This way is in you because there is also another way. God did not leave His Children comfortless, even though they chose to leave Him. The voice they put in their minds was not the voice of His Will for which the Holy Spirit speaks. The call to return is stronger than the call to depart, but it speaks in a different way.

​23 선택할 자유는 창조할 자유와 같은 권능이지만, 그 적용은 다르다. 선택한다는 것은 뜻이 갈라졌음을 의미한다. 성령이란, 선택을 내리는 하나의 방법이다. 네 안에 이 방법이 있는 이유는, 다른 방법도 있기 때문이다. 하느님은 당신의 아이들을 위로 없이 버려두지 않으셨다. 비록 그들은 하느님을 떠나기로 선택했지만 말이다. 그들이 자신의 마음 안에 둔 음성은 하느님 뜻의 음성이 아니었다. 성령은 바로 그 뜻을 대변해 말한다. 돌아오라는 부름은 떠나라는 부름보다 강하지만, 다른 방법으로 말한다.

24 The Voice of the Holy Spirit does not command because it is incapable of arrogance. It does not demand because it does not seek control. It does not overcome because it does not attack. It merely reminds. It is compelling only because of what it reminds you of. It brings to your mind the other way, remaining quiet even in the midst of the turmoil you have made for yourselves. The Voice for God is always quiet because it speaks of peace. Yet peace is stronger than war because it heals. War is division, not increase. No one gains from strife.

24 성령의 음성은 오만할 수 없기에, 명령하지 않는다. 그 음성은 통제하려 하지 않기에, 요구하지 않는다. 그 음성은 공격하지 않기에, 정복하지 않는다. 그 음성은 다만 상기시켜줄 뿐이다. 성령의 음성이 설득력이 있는 이유는 단지, 그것이 상기시켜주는 내용 때문이다. 그 음성은 네가 스스로 지어낸 소란의 한가운데서조차 조용히 남아있는 다른 방법을 너의 마음에게 가져다준다. 하느님을 대변하는 음성은 평화에 대해 말하기에, 항상 조용하다. 하지만 평화는 치유하기에, 전쟁보다 강하다. 전쟁은 늘어나는 것이 아니라, 분열되는 것이다. 다툼에서 득을 보는 자는 아무도 없다.

​25 "What profiteth it a man if he gain the whole world and lose his own Soul?" That means that if he listens to the wrong voice, he has lost sight of his Soul. He cannot lose it, but he can not know it. It is therefore lost to him until he chooses right. The Holy Spirit is your Guide in choosing. He is the part of your mind which always speaks for the right choice because He speaks for God. He is your remaining communication with God, which you can interrupt but cannot destroy.

​25 “사람이 온 세상을 얻고도 제 영혼을 잃으면 무슨 유익이 있겠는가?” 이 말은, 사람이 그른 음성에 귀기울인다면 자신의 영혼을 볼 수 없게 된다는 것을 의미한다. 사람은 자신의 영혼을 잃을 수는 없지만, 알지 못할 수는 있다. 따라서 그의 영혼은 그가 바르게 선택할 때까지 그에게 상실되어 있다. 성령은 너의 선택을 돕는 안내자다. 성령은 하느님을 대변해 말하기에, 너의 마음에서 언제나 바른 선택을 대변하는 부분이다. 성령은 너에게 아직도 남아있는 하느님과의 소통으로서, 너는 그것을 방해할 수는 있지만 파괴할 수는 없다.

26 The Holy Spirit is the way in which God's Will can be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Both Heaven and earth are in you because the call of both is in your will and therefore in your mind. The Voice for God comes from your own altars to Him. These altars are not things; they are devotions. Yet you have other devotions now. Your divided devotion has given you the two voices, and you must choose at which altar you will to serve. The call you answer now is an eval‎uation because it is a decision. The decision itself is very simple. It is made on the basis of which call is worth more to you.

26 성령은 하느님의 뜻이 하늘에서와 같이 땅에서도 이루어질 수 있게 하는 방법이다. 하늘과 땅은 모두 네 안에 있다. 하늘과 땅의 부름은 모두 너의 뜻 안에 있으며, 따라서 너의 마음 안에 있기 때문이다. 하느님을 대변하는 음성은 하느님께 바치는 너 자신의 제단에서 나온다. 이 제단은 어떤 물건이 아니라 헌신하는 마음이다. 하지만 너는 지금 다른 것에 헌신한다. 이렇게 헌신을 가름으로써 너는 두 음성을 갖게 되었고, 따라서 어느 제단을 섬길지 선택해야 한다. 네가 지금 어떤 부름에 응답할지는 하나의 결정이며, 따라서 하나의 평가다. 그 결정 자체는 아주 단순하다. 그것은 네가 어느 부름을 더 가치 있게 여기는지에 근거하여 이루어진다.

​27 My mind will always be like yours because we were created as equals. It was only my decision that gave me all power in Heaven and earth. My only gift to you is to help you make the same decision for yourself. The will for this decision is the will to share it because the decision itself is the decision to share. It is made by giving and is therefore the one act of mind that resembles true creation. You understand the role of "models" in the learning process and the importance of the models you value and choose to follow in determining what you will to learn. I am your model for decision. By deciding for God, I showed you that this decision can be made and that you can make it.

​27 나의 마음은 언제까지나 너의 마음과 같을 것이니, 우리는 동등한 자들로 창조되었기 때문이다. 나는 단지 어떤 결정을 내림으로써 하늘과 땅의 모든 권능을 부여받았다. 내가 너에게 주는 유일한 선물은, 너 스스로 그와 같은 결정을 내리도록 돕는 것이다. 그런 결정을 내리려는 뜻은 그런 결정을 공유하려는 뜻이다. 그 결정 자체가 곧 공유하려는 결정이기 때문이다. 그런 결정은 주기를 통해 내려지며, 따라서 마음의 행위 가운데 유일하게 진정한 창조를 닮은 것이다. 너는 학습 과정에서 “모델”의 역할을 이해하며, 무엇을 배울지 결정하는 과정에서 네가 소중히 여겨 따르기로 선택하는 모델의 중요성을 이해한다. 나는 네가 결정할 때 따를 모델이다. 나는 하느님을 대변해 결정함으로써, 이러한 결정을 내리는 것이 가능한 일일 뿐만 아니라 너도 그러한 결정을 내릴 수 있음을 보여주었다.

28 I promised you that the mind that made the decision for me is also in you and that you can let it change you just as it changed me. This mind is unequivocal because it hears only one voice and answers in only one way. You are the light of the world with me. Rest does not come from sleeping but from waking. The Holy Spirit is the call to awake and be glad. The world is very tired because it is the idea of weariness. Our task is the joyous one of waking it to the Call for God. Everyone will answer the Call of the Holy Spirit, or the Sonship cannot be as one. What better vocation could there be for any part of the Kingdom than to restore it to the perfect integration that can make it whole?

​28 나는 나를 대신해 그런 결정을 내렸던 마음이 네 안에도 있으며, 너는 그 마음이 나를 바꿨듯이 너도 바꾸도록 허용할 수 있다고 확실히 말했다. 그 마음은 오로지 하나의 음성만 듣고 오로지 하나의 방법으로만 응답하기에, 모호하지 않다. 너는 나와 더불어 세상의 빛이다. 안식은 잠이 아닌 깨어남에서 온다. 성령은 깨어나 기뻐하라는 부름이다. 세상은 매우 지쳐있으니, 세상은 실로 피로함이라는 아이디어이기 때문이다. 우리의 과제는 세상을 하느님을 대변하는 부름으로 깨워내는 기쁜 과제다. 모든 이가 성령의 부름에 응답할 것이다. 그렇지 않으면 온아들은 하나일 수 없다. 천국의 부분이 받은 소명 중에, 천국을 온전하게 만들 완벽한 통합 상태로 회복시키는 것보다 더 나은 소명이 있겠는가?

​29 Hear only this through the Holy Spirit within you, and teach your brothers to listen as I am teaching you. When you are tempted by the wrong voice, call on me to remind you how to heal by sharing my decision and making it stronger. As we share this goal we increase its power to attract the whole Sonship and to bring it back into the Oneness in which it was created. Remember that "yoke" means "join together" and "burden" means "message." Let us reconsider the Biblical statement, "My yoke is easy and my burden light" in this way: "Let us join together, for my message is light."

29 네 안의 성령을 통해 오로지 이 말만 듣고, 내가 지금 너를 가르치고 있듯이 너의 형제들도 귀기울이도록 가르쳐라. 그른 음성의 유혹을 받거든, 나의 결정을 공유하여 더욱 강화함으로써 치유할 방법을 일깨워 달라고 나에게 청하라. 우리가 이러한 목적을 공유함에 따라, 온아들 전체를 끌어당겨 그것이 본래 창조된 하나인 상태로 회복시킬 그 목적의 권능이 강화된다. “멍에”는 “함께 결합하기”를, “짐”은 “메시지”를 의미함을 기억하라. 그러므로 “내 멍에는 메기 쉽고, 내 짐은 가볍다.”라는 성서의 구절을 다음과 같이 다시 생각하자. “우리 함께 결합하자. 나의 메시지는 가볍기 때문이다.”

​30 I came into your minds because you had grown vaguely aware of the fact that there is another way or another Voice. Having given this invitation to the Holy Spirit, I could come to provide the model for how to think. Psychology has become the study of behavior, but no one denies the basic law that behavior is a response to motivation, and motivation is will. I have enjoined you to behave as I behaved, but we must respond to the same mind to do this. This mind is the Holy Spirit, whose will is for God always. He teaches you how to keep me as the model for your thought and to behave like me as a result.

​30 내가 너의 마음 안으로 들어온 이유는, 네가 어렴풋이 다른 길 혹은 다른 음성이 있다는 사실을 점점 더 자각하게 되었기 때문이다. 네가 성령께 이러한 초대장을 보냈기에, 나는 생각하는 방법을 위한 모델을 제공할 수 있게 되었다. 심리학이 행동에 대한 연구가 되어버리기는 했지만, 행동은 동기에 대한 반응이고 동기는 곧 뜻이라는 기본 법칙은 아무도 부정하지 않는다. 나는 너에게 내가 행한 대로 행하라고 일렀지만, 그러려면 우리는 같은 마음에게 반응해야 한다. 이 마음이 바로 성령이며, 그의 뜻은 언제나 하느님을 대변한다. 성령은 네가 어떻게 하면 나를 네 생각의 모델로 삼아서, 그 결과 나처럼 행동할 수 있는지 가르쳐준다.

31 The power of our joint motivation is beyond belief but not beyond accomplishment. What we can accomplish together has no limits because the Call for God is the call to the unlimited. Child of God, my message is for you to hear and give away as you answer the Holy Spirit within you.

​31 우리의 결합된 동기의 권능은 믿을 수 없을 정도이지만, 성취할 수 없을 정도는 아니다. 우리가 함께 성취할 수 있는 것에는 한계가 전혀 없다. 하느님을 대변하는 부름은 정녕 한계 없음으로의 부름이기 때문이다. 하느님의 아이야, 나의 메시지를 들어라. 그리고 너의 내면의 성령께 응답하여, 그 메시지를 형제들에게 나눠주어라.
