After receiving the drawings, High School and Grade 1 students met to discuss each character’s designs and key elements. The High School students then applied their ceramic skills to build the sculptural monsters, which were later revealed to the first graders.

This collaborative project supported academic development for both groups: High School students deepened their understanding of visual storytelling, interpretation, and technical ceramic processes, while the Grade 1 students practiced communication, description, and creative thinking. The cross-age collaboration also promoted empathy, active listening, and artistic appreciation across age levels.
