Year 10-13 Malay First Language Students from The International School of Penang (Uplands) Experience Kampung Agong!

Our Year 10-13 Malay First Language students had an incredible experience immersing themselves in traditional kampung life at Kampung Agong!

They explored traditional Malay houses, learned about rural architecture, and got hands-on with rice cultivation by planting paddy in the fields.

They also tried grinding rice and beans using traditional tools, gaining a real appreciation for the hard work of kampung life.

The fun didn’t stop there! Students enjoyed fishing in the paddy fields, taking home their catch, and playing traditional games like coconut bowling

, where they bowled with coconuts to knock down pins made from cans, and coconut hoola-hooping, which tested their balance and creativity!

A scenic buggy ride around the kampung gave them a chance to enjoy the serene surroundings and interact with the friendly ‘kampung’ animals.

It was a day filled with culture, learning, and unforgettable memories. Our students embraced every moment, strengthening their Malay language skills while connecting deeply with Malaysia’s heritage.

Truly a highlight of their Malay First Language journey!

10-13학년 말레이어 모국어 학생들은 캄풍 아공에서 전통적인 캄풍 생활에 몰입하는 놀라운 경험을 했습니다!
말레이 전통 주택을 탐험하고, 시골 건축에 대해 배우고, 밭에 논을 심으며 벼 재배를 직접 해보았습니다.
또한 전통적인 도구를 사용하여 쌀과 콩을 갈아보며 캄풍 생활의 노고에 대한 진정한 감사를 받았습니다.
재미는 여기서 멈추지 않았습니다! 학생들은 논에서 낚시를 즐기고, 캐치볼을 집으로 가져가고, 코코넛 볼링과 같은 전통 게임을 즐겼습니다. 

코코넛으로 볼링을 쳐서 캔으로 만든 핀을 쓰러뜨리고 균형과 창의력을 테스트한 코코넛 훌라후핑!
캄풍 주변의 경치 좋은 버기 라이딩을 통해 고요한 환경을 즐기고 친근한 '캄풍' 동물들과 소통할 수 있는 기회를 얻었습니다.
문화와 배움, 잊을 수 없는 추억으로 가득 찬 하루였습니다. 우리 학생들은 말레이시아의 유산과 깊이 연결되는 동시에 말레이시아어 실력을 강화하며 매 순간을 포용했습니다.
