4 Alors Jéhovah lança un grand vent sur la mer, et il y eut une tempête si violente que le bateau était sur le point de faire naufrage.
5 Les marins avaient tellement peur que chacun d’eux se mit à appeler son dieu à l’aide. Ils commencèrent aussi à jeter à la mer les objets qui étaient sur le bateau, pour l’alléger+. Jonas, lui, était descendu au fond du bateau* ; il s’y était couché et dormait profondément.
6 Le capitaine du bateau s’approcha et lui dit : « Pourquoi dors-tu ? Lève-toi et implore ton dieu ! Peut-être que le vrai Dieu montrera qu’il se soucie de nous, et nous ne mourrons pas+. »
4 Then Jehovah hurled a strong wind at the sea, and there was such a violent storm on the sea that the ship was about to be wrecked.
5 The mariners were so frightened that each of them began to call on his god for help. And they began throwing the articles of the ship into the sea, to make it lighter.+ But Joʹnah had gone down into the inner part of the ship,* where he lay down and fell fast asleep.
6 The ship captain approached and said to him: “Why are you sleeping? Get up, call out to your god! Perhaps the true God will show his concern for us, and we will not perish.”+
4 그러나 여호와께서 바다에 세찬 바람을 보내시니 바다에 사나운 폭풍이 일어 배가 부서질 지경이 되었다.
5 뱃사람들은 겁에 질려 저마다 자기 신에게 도와 달라고 부르짖으며, 배를 가볍게 하려고 배에 실은 짐을 바다로 던지기 시작했다.+ 그러나 배* 밑창에 내려간 요나는 누워 깊이 잠들어 있었다.
6 선장이 그에게 와서 말했다. “어찌하여 잠을 자고 있소? 일어나서 당신의 신에게 부르짖으시오! 참하느님께서 우리를 생각해 주시면 우리가 죽지 않을지도 모르오.”+
