Example: M: I really want to quit smoking. W: So, why don't you quit like the way my dad did. M: How did he quit? W: He did it cold turkey!
Definition: Cold
Turkey
means to quit an addictive habit abruptly Explanation: This idiom is referred to a person who abruptly quits using drugs (heroin etc) without any medical support. The terms comes from the appearance of the person when they quit.

This word is usually used when someone wants to stop a unwanted addiction like smoking. You can use it other than medical for example, A: I want to lose weight. B: ThenI suggest that you give up sweets. A: I know but it's so hard. B: You got to do it cold turkey! Cold Turkey is the idea of
the idea of suddenly or abruptly. Cold Turley is not used as a substitute of "coldly." Can cold turkey be used as a noun? Cold turkey is a noun. But can it be used as a noun? Good question...yes. For example, cold turkey is a method of quiting an addictive habit.

I'm sorry, I never heard of a "cold turkey letter." I've heard about a "Dear John" letter but not a cold turkey letter. I'll check but I make no guarantees.

kkk, kkk, kkk. I wish all my students were as curious as you. Dear John letter is when a person leaves another person by leaving a note. For example, after a girlfriend packs her bags and write a letter and leaves her boyfriend a letter telling him she's left. This was a bonus idiom!
