Chapter 1. Upper Classic : 21 Teachings, 157 Deeds.
The 2nd Principles : Trust(Shin)... Faith... The 55th Deed.
The 1st Stage : Righteousness(Ui)... Executing what must rightfully be done... the 56th Deed.
Righteoousness(Ui) is a movement that arises in response to a full and overflowing faith.
From this movement, a deep resonance manifests, causing courage to awaken.
If one governs this courage to establish their endeavors and keeps
it hidden deep within the heart, then even a thunderbolt cannot shatter it.
Its firmness and solidity are like iron and stone,
and the manner of its bursting forth is like a mighty river.
[ Original Classical Text & Pronuciation,
Righteoousness is the energy(Qi) that responds faithfully
to a solid foundation of trust.
As for this energy, it is stimulated by deep emotion
and gives rise to courage,
bodying that courage with stability,
one establishes their life′s work,
locking the gates of the mind so securely that that even a sudden
thunderbolt cannot break through,
it is as unyieding as metal and stone,
yet flows and poues forth dynamically like great rivers.
