Lily Lee. Today, I brought with me one intriguing story that why do people abhor the sound of fingernails on a chalkboard. Picture that finger nails now working
their way across a chalkboard. Some of you might have felt a shiver. In fact,
it is one of those sounds that provokes a physical reaction. So, why we hate the sound of this? One scientist found that the sound produced is at a critical
frequency where our ear is most sensitive on a range of 2000hz-4000hz. other
sounds like a baby’s cry and the sound of a vacuum cleaner fall in that category
too.
