In celebration of the release of George Michael‘s upcoming live album, Symphonica, a concert special filmed in Paris during the legendary pop singer’s 2011-2012 tour of the same name will premiere April 13 at 8 p.m. ET on the high-definition AXS TV channel. The show, which took place in September of 2012, marked the first time that a contemporary pop artist had ever performed at the city’s renowned Palais Garnier Opera House.
Symphonica, Michael’s sixth full-length album and his first since 2004′s Patience, is due out March 18. As previously reported, the 14-track collection was recorded during his Symphonica trek of the U.K. and mainland Europe, and contains a mix of original songs and covers. The album was co-produced by George and the late Phil Ramone, and was the legendary producer’s final project.
Fans who pre-order the digital version of the record will receive a bonus track, “I Remember You” Earlier this month, George release the lead single from Symphonica, a rendition of Terence Trent D’Arby‘s 1993 piano-driven ballad “Let Her Down Easy” In addition, separate promo videos have been created to accompany both live and studio versions of the tune.
