① 124가정을 찾아 세운 뜻

예수님의 120문도를 대신한 120가정은 세계적인 형입니다. 120가정은 세계의 대표형으로서 세계적인 탕감조건을 세울 수 있는 터전이 되기 때문에 120가정을 세움으로 말미암아 하나님이 세계적으로 찾아올 수 있는 기준을 세우게 된 것입니다. 그렇기 때문에 유엔 회원국이 120개 국가가 넘으면 그때가 말세라고 할 수 있습니다. (16－62)

120가정은 세계의 모든 국가를 대표한 기준에서 세워진 가정입니다. (20－342)

재림주님은 아담가정의 입장을 탕감복귀해야 합니다. 따라서 아담, 노아, 아브라함형 가정을 찾아서 조상으로 세워야 한다는 것입니다. 그러기 위해서는 먼저 아담형 12가정을 찾고 다음에 노아형 12가정과 아브라함형 12가정을 찾아 종적인 조상을 세워야 합니다.

그래서 선생님이 36가정을 세웠던 것입니다. 이 조상들을 중심삼고 가인 아벨형의 가정으로 찾아 세운 것이 바로 72가정입니다. 그리고 120가정은 세계 120개 국가의 지도자를 상징하는 것입니다. (22－215)

횡적인 기준을 세워 평면적인 사방수의 세계형을 찾아 세운 것이 120가정입니다. 이것은 120국가를 대표한 것입니다. (13－125)

124가정까지는 7년노정입니다. 오늘날 120가정이 있기 때문에 새로운 이스라엘권을 중심삼고 세계 120개 국가를 찾을 수 있는 기반이 연결되는 것입니다. 그렇기 때문에 예수님이 가정을 통해서 찾고자 했던 세계적인 모든 수가, 선생님이 120가정을 축복함으로 말미암아 복귀된 기준이 결정된 것입니다. (54－293)

여러분에게 필요한 것은 뭐냐하면 84명과 120명을 전부 종족권 내에 세우는 것입니다. 그것이 종적입니다. 36가정, 72가정, 120가정 아니예요? 120이라는 것은 세계 대표입니다. 그렇기 때문에 예수님이 부활한 후 오순절에 다락방에 120명이 모인 것입니다. 그건 세계적 대표입니다. 선생님이 124쌍 축복할 때 유엔 국가가 124개 국가였습니다. 그거 다 맞아 떨어져야 되는 겁니다. (198－17)

12수에 해당하는 것이 120문도입니다. 이것은 예수님시대에 있어서 120문도를 대신한 탕감복귀 수에 해당하는 것인데, 세계 국가의 대표자형입니다. 이것을 세워서 그 족장대표, 족장이 국가대표지요? 국가대표 기준을 편성하기 위해서, 세계적인 기준을 편성하기 위해서 축복해 준 것이 124가정이다 이겁니다. 4가정은, 이건 혹입니다. 그럼 4가정은 뭐냐? 그건 기혼가정입니다. 왜 기혼가정을 넣었느냐? 기혼가정을 넣지 않으면 앞으로 기혼가정을 구원할 도리가 없다는 것입니다. 이 4수는 동서남북 사방의 문을 상징하는 것이기 때문에, 이러한 타입의 형들을 중심삼아 가지고 기성가정들이 부활할 수 있는 길을 열어 주어야 되는 것입니다. 그렇기 때문에 124수를 축복한 것입니다. 120가정은 예수님 중심한 120문도를 대신한 것입니다. 네 가정은 결혼한 기혼가정입니다. 사방의 문을 열어 주어야 하기 때문입니다. (20－145)

예수가 십자가에 피 흘리게 된 것은 72문도와 12제자를 더해서 84명이 하나 못 됐기 때문입니다. 그러니 여러분은 84명을 실체로 탕감복귀해야 합니다. 그 탕감복귀 기반 위에 여러분들은 결혼생활을 할 수 있습니다. 선생님도 그렇습니다. 그걸 하기 위해서 12, 12, 12해서 36가정입니다. 그것은 소생-장성-완성입니다. 이것은 세 패지만 축소시키면 한패입니다. 그 다음엔 72가정도 마찬가지입니다. 그 기반 위에 120가정, 120가정 기반 위에 세계가 연결되는 겁니다. 예수님이 부활 승천한 다음에 120문도가 오순절에 지상에 강림했지요? 그건 세계 대표를 상징합니다. 예수가 유대교적 기준을 못 이룬 것이 한이기 때문에, 그것을 대신한 120가정이 예수의 한을 풀어 줄 축복가정이라는 것입니다. 그렇기 때문에 120가정은 선두에 서서 희생해야 된다고 하는 것입니다. 요전에 출동교육을 받은 지역장들은 전부 120가정일 것입니다. 120가정은 희생해야 된다 이겁니다. 120가정은 예수시대의 120문도 입장으로 세계적인 지파 편성을 하는데 있어서 세계 120국가를 대표한 국가적인 기대입니다. (47－202)

예수님이 승천할 때에 120문도를 세웠지요? 120문도는 120가정을 말합니다. 그 다음에 지상에 있어서도 천상세계에 간 120국가 대표가 있는 겁니다. 그 국가 대표 반열에 여러분의 혈족들이 하나씩 들어감으로 말미암아 여러분의 활동무대가 120개 국가의 천국판도를 이어서 상속받아 가지고 거기에 활동할 수 있는 기지를 연결하는 것입니다. (215－129)

예수님에게 열두 제자와 70문도만이 있었던 게 아닙니다. 오순절에 승천하게 될 때에 120문도가 내려와 가지고 세계적 선교운동을 시작한 것입니다. 그것을 대표한 것이 120국가입니다. 우리가 120가정 축복할 때에도 유엔에 가입한 나라가 124개국이었습니다. 우리도 124쌍인데, 4쌍 가운데는 뭐냐면 동서남북을 중심삼고 범죄자였던 사람입니다. 전과 1범, 2범, 3범, 4범까지 124쌍에 전부 들어가 있습니다. 왜? 지옥에 가 있는 사람들을 구해 줘야 된다는 겁니다. 형무소에 있는 사람들을 구해 줘야 된다는 것입니다. 우리에게 120가정이 있는 것과 마찬가지로 여러분들도 영계의 12지파의 10배를 통한 120족속들이 있습니다. 지금 우리가 선교하는 전세계의 선교국을 120개국 아니면 160개국으로 보는 겁니다. 그렇기 때문에 올림픽 때에도 120개국의 국가 대표들이 와서 하나 된 것입니다. 그와 마찬가지로 여러분의 일족을 중심삼고 120개국의 대표를 세워 세계적인 국가 대표형으로서 여러분과 하나 만들어야 합니다. 그래야 예수님이 부활해서 영계로 승천함으로 말미암아 지상에 120문도 기지를 잃어버린 것을 탕감복귀할 수 있다는 것입니다. 그렇기 때문에 120가정이 필요하다는 것입니다. 이것을 지상에서 일으켜서 묶어 가지고 완전히 하나되어야 120대표들을 종족 앞에 연결할 수 있습니다. 그럼으로써 천상세계에 120국가도 연결되는 것입니다. 그러니 절대 필요한 수라는 겁니다. 하늘나라 백성을 최소한 예수님이 원하던 120명, 120가정은 데리고 들어가야 됩니다. 120가정이 뭐예요? 120가정은 지상을 대표한 국가 대표인 것입니다. 그렇기 때문에 일생 동안 전부 다 120가정을 데리고 들어가야 된다는 것입니다. 그것을 목적으로 해야 됩니다. 그건 뭐냐하면 예수가 죽지 않고 재림할 수 있는 대신자가 되어 종족들에게 보낸다는 것입니다. 가인 종족들에게 아벨 종족을 보내는 것입니다. 그것이 메시아 자격입니다. 그것이 종족적 메시아의 사명입니다. (215－185)

자기 아들딸과 자기 혈족과 복귀된 백성과 더불어 영원한 창조이상적 전통을, 사랑의 전통을 어떻게 만들어 놓느냐 하는 것입니다. 저 나라에 가서는 이것이 하나의 무리가 되어서 자기의 영원한 생명의 권위, 생명의 위계를 찾아가는 것입니다. 일족을 처리하여 120가정 이상 데리고 가야 됩니다. 이제 그만큼 했으면 알 것입니다. 부끄러움을 면할 수 있도록 준비하라는 겁니다. 부끄러움만이 아니라 발가벗고 쫓겨나는 겁니다. (213－139)

예수님의 12제자의 12수를 십 배한 120수는 평면적인 세계를 대표할 수 있는 수입니다. 그래서 이 120문도와 같은 수를 맞추기 위해 120쌍 축복을 한 것입니다. 원래는 120이지만 4방수(四方數)인 4쌍을 더해서 124쌍을 축복했습니다. (16－62)

120개 국가 대표에 4를 합해 가지고 124쌍을 축복했는데, 종족적 중심이 결정된 기반 위에 세계적으로 124가정을 축복했습니다. 이것은 예수님이 120개 국가 상징 터전으로서 출발했던 기독교의 전체 중심을 대표할 가정이 성립됐다는 말입니다. 그러니까 그것은 선생님을 중심삼고 개인에서 사위기대를 이루고, 그 다음에 조상들을 묶고, 그 다음에는 민족을 묶고, 그 다음에는 세계를 묶는 탕감적 가정이다 이겁니다. 그러니까 이제는 세계에 널려 있는 수많은 국가권을 대표할 수 있는 국가들이 전부 다 한 곳으로 갈 수 있는 길이 열린다는 것입니다. 120문도는 세계를 대표합니다. 예수님도 120문도를 중심삼고 세계적인 출발을 하려고 했지만 그것을 못 했습니다. 우리는 이것을 갖추어 놓아야 합니다. 세계를 표준하고 나가는 길 앞에 있어서 다리를 놓을 수 있는 자기의 후손을 단계적으로 세워야 됩니다. 후손을 세울 때에는 아무렇게나 마구 세우는 것이 아니라, 세계적인 대표가 될 수 있는 자리에 세워야 합니다. 이것이 뭐냐? 통일교회의 36쌍, 72쌍, 124쌍 합동결혼식입니다. (34－262)

② 헌공식과 120개국 성지택정

124쌍 성혼식 후 헌공식을 했습니다. 하나님이 예수님을 통하여 이루지 못한 개인적, 가정적, 종족적, 민족적인 기반을 이루기 위하여 부활실체로 오셔서 일해야 될 분이 재림주이십니다. 그 일을 3년간 해왔던 것입니다. 이 3년은 자녀를 찾는 기간(종적기간)에 해당됩니다. 이 기간은 예수님이 유대교와 유대민족을 수습해야 했듯이 부활 실체인 한 분을 세워 놓고 그와 같은 일을 하는 기간입니다. (13－11)

120가정은 세계형입니다. 1965년에 40개국을 중심하고 120개 성지를 세운 이유도 여기에 있는 것입니다. (18－260)

사람을 찾은 후에는 땅을 찾아야 합니다. 선생님이 40개국을 순회한 이유는 성지택정을 하기 위해서였습니다. 한국에서 타락전 기준을 세웠기 때문에 성지를 택할 수 있었던 것입니다. 세계 40개 국가에서 105곳의 성지를 택했습니다. 120가정은 120개 국가를 상징하는 것입니다. 앞으로 우리는 120개의 성지를 택해야 합니다. (16－7)

120가정은 뭐냐? 120국가를 대표하는 형입니다. 그러면 하늘 조직으로 볼 때, 조상과 가정의 형태와 여기에 세계 대표자 형태를 갖추었는데 땅이 없다는 겁니다. 땅이 없으니, 하늘 앞에 있어서 사람 조직 형태는 갖추었지만 이 땅을 더럽힌 것을 하늘이 찾을 수 있는 기반이 안 되었기 때문에, 이걸 중심삼고 수를 맞추기 위해서 40개국을 중심삼아 120성지를 택정한 겁니다. 그래서 땅의 기반이 되었다는 것입니다. 그렇기 때문에 여러분들이 성지에 가서 기도한다면 그런 관점에서 기도하라는 겁니다. 여러분은 120가정을 대표하고, 70가정을 대표하고, 36가정을 대표하고, 하늘보좌의 중심인 참부모를 대표해 가지고 몽땅 지상에 내려와 평면으로 벌어진 입장에서 기도하라는 겁니다. 그렇기 때문에 앞으로 통일교회를 출세시키기 위해서는 하나님도 동원해야 되고, 지금까지의 선지선열도 동원해야 되고, 다 동원해야 되는 겁니다. 그들은 가인형이요, 여기는 아벨형이기 때문에 전부 다 땅을 위주하고 협조하는 겁니다. 하나님도 협조해야 되고, 천사도 협조해야 되고, 선조도 협조해야 됩니다. 百二十四家庭

１．百二十四家庭を立てた意味

　イエス様の百二十門徒の代わりとなる百二十家庭は、世界的な型です。百二十家庭は、世界の代表型として世界的な蕩減条件を立てることができる基盤となるので、百二十家庭を立てることによって、神様が世界的に訪ねてくることができる基準を立てたのです。それで国連の加盟国が百二十カ国を超えれば、その時が「終末だ」と言うことができるのです。

　百二十家庭は、世界のすべての国家を代表した基準で立てられた家庭です。

　再臨主は、アダム家庭の立場を蕩減復帰しなければなりません。したがって、アダム・ノア・アブラハム型の家庭を取り戻して先祖に立てなければなりません。そのためには、まずアダム型の十二家庭を取り戻し、次にノア型の十二家庭とアブラハム型の十二家庭を取り戻して、縦的な先祖を立てなければなりません。それで先生が三十六家庭を立てました。この先祖を中心としたカイン・アベル型の家庭として探し立てたのが七十二家庭です。そして百二十家庭は、世界百二十カ国の指導者を象徴するのです。

　横的な基準を立てて、平面的な四方数の世界型を立てたのが百二十家庭です。これは百二十国家を代表したものです。

　百二十四家庭までは七年路程です。現在百二十家庭があるので、新しいイスラエル圏を中心として世界の百二十カ国を取り戻すことができる基盤が連結されるのです。それでイエス様が家庭を通じて取り戻そうとした世界的なすべての数が、先生が百二十家庭を祝福することによって、復帰された基準が決定したのです。

　皆さんに必要なのは何かといえば、八十四人と百二十人をすべて氏族圏内に立てることです。それは縦的です。三十六家庭、七十二家庭、百二十家庭、違いますか。百二十というのは世界の代表です。それでイエス様が復活したのち、五旬節に屋根裏部屋に百二十人が集まったのです。それは世界的な代表です。先生が百二十四双を祝福する時、国連の加盟国が百二十四カ国でした。それがすべて合っているのです。

　十二数に該当するのが百二十門徒です。これは、イエス様の時代において百二十門徒の代わりの蕩減復帰数に該当するので、世界国家の代表者型です。これを立てて、その族長代表が国家代表でしょう。国家代表基準として編成するために、世界的な基準として編成するために祝福してあげたのが百二十四家庭なのです。
　四家庭は、これはこぶです。その四家庭は、既婚家庭です。なぜ既婚家庭を入れたのでしょうか。既婚家庭を入れないと今後、既婚家庭を救う道がないのです。この四数は東西南北の四方の門を象徴するので、このようなタイプの型を中心として既成家庭が復活できる道を開けてあげなければならないのです。それで百二十四数を祝福したのです。

　百二十家庭は、イエス様を中心とした百二十門徒の代わりなのです。四家庭は、結婚した既婚家庭です。四方の門を開けてあげなければなりません。

　イエス様が十字架で血を流すようになったのは、七十二門徒と十二弟子を足した八十四人が一つになれなかったからです。ですから皆さんは、八十四人を実体で蕩減復帰しなければなりません。その蕩減復帰基盤の上で、皆さんは結婚生活ができます。先生もそうです。そのために十二、十二、十二の三十六家庭です。それは蘇生、長成、完成です。これは三つですが、縮小すれば一つなのです。
　その次の七十二家庭も同じです。その基盤上に百二十家庭、百二十家庭の基盤上に世界が連結されるのです。イエス様が復活し昇天したのちに、五旬節に百二十門徒が一つになって聖霊が地上に降臨したでしょう。それは世界の代表を象徴します。

　イエス様がユダヤ数的基準を成し遂げられなかったことが恨なので、それに代わる百二十家庭がイエス様の恨を解いてあげる祝福家庭だというのです。それで百二十家庭は先頭に立って犠牲にならなければなりません。この前、出動教育を受けた地域長は、全部百二十家庭なのです。百二十家庭は犠牲にならなければならないのです。百二十家庭は、イエス時代の百二十門徒の立場で世界的な支派編成をするところにおける、世界百二十国家を代表した国家的な基台です。

　イエス様が昇天する時に百二十門徒を立てたでしょう。百二十門徒は、百二十家庭を意味します。その次に、地上でも天上世界に行った百二十国家の代表がいるのです。その国家代表の列に皆さんの血族が一つずつ入っていくことによって、皆さんの活動舞台が百二十国家の天国の版図を相続して、そこに活動できる基地を連結するのです。

　イエス様に十二弟子と七十門徒だけがいたのではありません。五旬節の時に百二十門徒に聖霊が降りてきて、世界的な宣教運動を始めたのです。それを代表したのが百二十カ国です。私たちが百二十家庭を祝福する時にも、国連に加盟した国が百二十四カ国でした。私たちにおいても百二十四双ですが、四双は何かといえば、東西南北を中心として犯罪者だった人でした。前科一犯、二犯、三犯、四犯まで百二十四組にすべて入っています。なぜでしょうか。地獄に行っている人々を救ってあげなければならないからです。刑務所にいる人々を救ってあげなければならないのです。

　天国の民を少なくともイエス様が願った百二十人、百二十家庭は連れて入らなければならないというのです。百二十家庭とは何でしょうか。百二十家庭は、地上の国家の代表です。それで一生の間、百二十家庭を連れて入っていかなければなりません。それを目的としなければなりません。それは何かといえば、イエス様が死なないで再臨できる代わりの者となって氏族に送るということです。カインの氏族にアベルの氏族を送ることです。それがメシヤの資格です。それが氏族的メシヤの使命なのです。

　自分の息子、娘と自分の血族と復帰された民と共に、永遠なる創造理想的伝統を、愛の伝統をどのようにつくっておくのかというのです。あの世に行って、これが一つの群れとなって自らの永遠なる生命の権威、生命の位階を求めていくのです。一族を復帰して百二十家庭以上を連れていかなければなりません。これだけ話したから分かったでしょう。恥を免れるように準備しなさいというのです。恥どころか裸にされて追い出されます。

　イエス様の十二弟子の十二数を十倍した百二十数は、平面的な世界を代表する数です。それで、この百二十門徒と同じ数を合わせるために百二十双の祝福をしたのです。本来は百二十ですが、四方数の四双を足して百二十四双を祝福しました。

　百二十カ国の代表に四を加えて百二十四双を祝福して、氏族的中心が決定された基盤の上に世界的な百二十四家庭を祝福しました。これは、イエス様が百二十カ国の象徴基盤として出発したキリスト教全体を代表する家庭が成立したということです。ですからそれは、先生を中心として個人で四位基台を成して、次に先祖をつなげ、次に民族をつなげて、次に世界をつなげる蕩減的家庭なのです。ですから今は、世界に広がっている数多くの国家圏を代表することができる国家が、すべて一箇所へ行くことができる道が開けるというのです。

　百二十門徒は、世界を代表します。イエス様も百二十門徒を中心として世界的な出発をしようとしましたが、それができませんでした。私たちは、これを準備しなければなりません。世界を標準として行く道の前に、架け橋となることができる自らの子孫を段階的に立てなければなりません。子孫を立てる時はいい加減に立てるのではなく、世界的な代表になることができる位置に立てなければなりません。これは何でしょうか。統一教会の三十六双、七十二双、百二十四双の合同結婚式です。


２．献貢式と百二十カ国聖地選定

　百二十四双の成婚式ののち、献貢式を行いました。神様がイエス様を通じて成すことができなかった個人的、家庭的、氏族的、民族的な基盤を成すために復活実体として来られ、み旨を成さなければならない方が再臨主です。それを三年間しました。この三年は、子女を取り戻す期間（縦的期間）に該当します。この期間は、イエス様がユダヤ教とユダヤ民族を収拾しなければならなかったように、復活実体の一人のお方を立てて、それを収拾する期間です。

　百二十家庭は、世界型です。一九六五年に四十カ国を中心として、百二十箇所の聖地を立てた理由もここにあります。

　人を取り戻したのちには土地を取り戻さなければなりません。先生が四十カ国を巡回した理由は、聖地を選ぶためでした。韓国で堕落前の基準を立てたので、聖地を選ぶことができたのです。世界四十カ国で百五箇所の聖地を選びました。百二十家庭は、百二十国家を象徴します。今後、私たちは、百二十箇所の聖地を選ばなければなりません。

　百二十家庭とは何でしょうか。百二十国家を代表する型だというのです。それでは天の組織で見たとき、先祖と家庭の形態と、ここに世界の代表者の型を備えたのに、土地がないというのです。土地がないので、天の前に人的組織の型は備えたものの、この地を汚したことを天が取り戻せる基盤がなかったので、これを中心として数を合わせるために四十カ国に百二十の聖地を選んだのです。それで地の基盤となったのです。そのようになったので、皆さんが聖地に行って祈祷するときは、そのような観点で祈祷しなさいというのです。
　皆さんは百二十家庭を代表して、七十家庭を代表して、三十六家庭を代表して、天の王座の中心である真の父母を代表して、すべて地上に降りてきて、平面に広がった立場で祈祷しなさいというのです。それで今後、統一教会を発展させるためには神様も動員しなければならず、今までの先知先烈（注：先駆け歩んだ義人たち）も動員しなければならず、すべて動員しなければならないのです。彼らはカイン型です。ここはアベル型なので、すべて地を中心として協助するのです。神様もしなければならないし、天使も協助しなければならないし、先祖も協助しなければならないのです。

The 124 Couples

3.1. Significance of 124 Couples

The 120 Couples, representing Jesus’ 120 followers, stand on the global level. As the representatives of the nations of the world, the 120 Couples are the foun­dation upon which the global indemni­ty condition can be met. By establishing these couples, the basis upon which God can come unto the world can be secured. Hence, we can say that the day on which the number of member states of the United Nations exceeded 120 marked the begin­ning of the Last Days. (16-62, 1965.12.26)

The 120 Couples were established in the position of representing all nations of the world. (20-342, 1968.7.20)

Christ at his Second Advent must restore through indemnity the posi­tion of Adam’s family. Accordingly, he must restore families typifying those of Adam, Noah, and Abraham, and estab­lish them as ancestors. In order to do so, he must first find twelve couples typify­ing Adam’s family, then twelve typifying Noah’s family, and finally twelve typify­ing Abraham’s family, and set them up as vertical ancestors. Thus, I established the 36 Couples. Centering on these ancestors, the 72 Couples were estab­lished as the representatives of Cain and Abel’s families. The 120 Couples sym­bolize the leaders of the 120 nations of the world. (22-215, 1969.2.6)

The 120 Couples typify the world, horizontally expanding the earthly foun­dation in all directions; they therefore represent 120 nations. (13-125, 1963.11.16)

The Blessings up to the 124 Couples were within the Seven-Year Course. As we now have 120 Couples based upon the realm of the new Israel, a founda­tion is established upon which the 120 nations of the world could be restored. Consequently, the restoration of all sig­nificant numbers, which Jesus attempt­ed through his family, was accomplished globally through the 120 Couples Bless­ing. (54-293, 1972.3.26)

What you need to do now is restore eighty-four and 120 people within your tribes. That is the vertical part. Didn’t the Blessing take place in the order of the 36, 72, and 120 Couples? The 120 Couples are representatives of the world. Thus, after Jesus’ resurrection, 120 people were gathered in the Upper Room on the day of Pentecost. They were the representa­tives of the world. When I blessed 124 Couples, the number of member states of the United Nations was also 124. All these numbers must be in accord with each other. (198-17, 1990.1.20)

The 120 followers of Jesus represent the number twelve. The 124 Couples were blessed in order to organize and establish a model of tribal and nation­al leadership worldwide. In actuality, 124 couples were blessed, four being extra. These four were already married couples. Why were they included in the Blessing? Had they not, there would have been no way to save other already married couples from that time on This number four represents gates facing the four cardinal directions of north, south, east, and west. Based on the four cou­ples, therefore, the way must be opened through which all already married cou­ples can be resurrected. Hence, I blessed 124 Couples. (158-170, 1967.12.27)

The 120 Couples represent Jesus’ 120 followers. Additionally, four couples are already married couples. They were included because they are the ones who must open the gates of the Blessing in the four directions. (20-145, 1968.5.26)

Jesus shed his blood on the cross because the seventy-two disciples and twelve apostles totaling eighty-four were disunited. Hence, every one of you must substantially restore eighty-four peo­ple through indemnity. Only on such a foundation can you lead married lives. The same was true for me. In order to fulfill this, I blessed the 36 Couples, who can be subdivided into three groups of twelve each, representing formation, growth, and completion. Strictly speak­ing, they are three groups, but they can be compressed into one; similarly, the 72 Couples. On that foundation, the 120 Couples were blessed, and on that basis, the world could be connected. After Jesus’ resurrection and ascension, didn’t the 120 followers gather on the day of Pentecost? They symbolized representa­tives of the world. (122-117, 1982.11.1)

The 120 Couples stand in the posi­tion to dissolve Jesus’ anguish aris­ing from not being able to restore the standard of Judaism. Hence, I am tell­ing them to stand in the forefront and sacrifice themselves. All district leaders recently educated for mobilization were of the 120 Couples. The 120 Couples must sacrifice themselves. They stand in the same position as the 120 followers at Jesus’ time as the national representa­tives of the world’s 120 nations and are forming global tribes. (47-202, 1971.8.28)

Upon ascending to heaven, hadn’t Jesus appointed 120 followers? The 120 Couples signify them and also represent 120 nations on earth and in the spirit world, respectively. Once members of your tribes take their places among the ranks of national representatives, your field of activity will be expanded to the 120 nations, which can then be con­nected to the Kingdom of Heaven. You will be able to inherit such positions and from there connect to the bases on which you can carry out your activities. (215-129, 1991.2.6)

Jesus did not just have twelve apos­tles and 70 disciples. On the day of Pen­tecost after his ascension, 120 follow­ers gathered to begin their worldwide missionary work. They are represented by 120 nations. At the time of the 120 Couples Blessing, the United Nations had 124 member states. The number of couples actually blessed was 124, out of which four had been criminals from the four directions of north, south, east, and west. Included among 124 couples are criminals who were convicted once, twice, thrice, and even four times. Why? It is because we have to save even those who are in hell. We need to save those who are imprisoned. (215-129, 1991.2.6)

Just as I have the 120 Couples, all of you have 120 kinfolk of your own, through twelve tribes multiplied by ten in the spirit world. At present, we regard the number of nations in the world in which we are carrying out missionary work as 120 or 160. Hence, at the time of the Seoul Olympics, national repre­sentatives from 120 nations got togeth­er to become as one. Similarly, within your tribe, you must establish represen­tatives of 120 nations and make them unite with you as the representatives of the nations of the world. Only thus can you restore through indemnity the lost base of the 120 followers on earth at the time of Jesus’ resurrection and ascen­sion, which is why we need the 120 Cou­ples. Only when they are established on earth, brought together and completely united can the 120 representatives in the spirit world be connected to the tribes. In this way, even the spirit world can be connected to the 120 nations. Thus, the 120 Couples are absolutely indispens­able to us. (215-129, 1991.2.6)

When entering heaven, you must take with you at least 120 families – something Jesus wanted to do. Who are the 120 Couples? They are representa­tives of the nations in the physical world. Hence, during your lifetime, you must successfully witness to at least 120 cou­ples and ensure that you will bring them to heaven. This should be every mem­ber’s purpose in life. Each person is sent to his or her tribe as the representative of Jesus who has not died but come again to earth; this is the sending of Abel tribes to Cain tribes in the capacity of the mes­siah. Such is the mission of tribal messi­ahs. (215-185, 1991.2.17)

The question is how you can establish the tradition of love, the eternal tradition of the ideal of creation, with your chil­dren, tribe, and restored citizens. Once you enter the spirit world, you, along with them, will form a group and restore your eternal dignity and order of life. While you are still on earth, you must deal with your tribe and restore at least 120 fami­lies. I think I have explained more than enough for you to understand. I am tell­ing you to be prepared so that you will not be embarrassed. You would not just be embarrassed, but be stripped bare and kicked out. (213-139, 1991.1.16)

The number 120, which is ten times twelve, derives from Jesus’ twelve apos­tles and represents the physical world. Thus, the 120 Couples were blessed in accordance with the number of Jesus’ 120 followers. Originally, the number should have been 120, but I blessed 124, adding four representing the four direc­tions of north, south, east, and west. (16-62, 1965.12.26)

I blessed the 124 Couples repre­senting the world’s 120 nations and the number four, on the global level, on the foundation of having established the center of tribes. What this means is that families have been formed that will rep­resent the center of all Christianity that originated from Jesus’ 120 followers, who themselves symbolized the founda­tion of 120 nations. These therefore are couples whose responsibility it will be to achieve the four-position foundation on the individual level under my leader­ship, and bring together the ancestors, the races, and finally the world. As such, from now on, the way will be opened for all nations of the world to move toward one common destination. (75-150, 1975.1.2)

The 120 followers represent the world. Jesus wanted to begin his world­wide dispensation with these 120 fol­lowers, but couldn’t during his lifetime. We must fulfill this work. On the way toward world restoration, my descen­dants must be chosen in stages in order to act as bridges connecting all people. In doing this, I cannot just select anyone to become my descendants, but rather this must be done with care, as they will be representing the world. How was this done? It was through the joint weddings of the 36, 72 and 124 Couples in the Uni­fication Church. (34-262, 1970.9.13)

3.2. Dedication ceremony and designation of 120 holy grounds

After the Blessing of the 124 Couples, I conducted a special dedication ceremo­ny. Christ at his Second Advent comes as the resurrected substantial being with the mission of establishing the founda­tions on levels of the individual, family, tribe, and people – the work of God that remained incomplete at the time of Jesus. I carried out this work over the past three years. This period corresponds to that of restoring children (vertical period). During this period, I was called as the resurrected substantial being in order to fulfill this mission, just as Jesus intended to save the followers of Judaism and the Jewish people. (13-11, 1963.9.12)

The 120 Couples typify the world. This is why I designated 120 holy grounds in forty nations worldwide in 1965. (18-260, 1967.6.12)

After restoring the people, we need to restore the land. I toured forty nations around the world to establish holy grounds. I was able to do this because I had established the standard existing prior to the Fall in Korea. I established holy grounds in 105 places in forty nations around the world. The 120 Cou­ples symbolize 120 nations. From this day forward, we need to establish 120 holy grounds. (16-7, 1963.12.21)

What are the 120 Couples? They are the representatives of 120 nations. How­ever, from the viewpoint of heavenly structure, although the ancestors, fam­ilies, and representatives of the world were established, we still have no territo­ry. Since we have no territory, although we formed an organization of people in front of God, we still do not have the foundation upon which He could sanc­tify this defiled land. I therefore estab­lished 120 holy grounds in forty nations, making the numbers correspond with each other. That was how the foundation for the restoration of land was laid.

When you go to the holy grounds to pray, you should be conscious of this background. In the context of mobilizing benevolent spirits to come to earth and spread across the world, you should offer prayers as representatives of the 120, 72, and 36 Couples and the True Parents as the center of the heavenly throne.

Hence, from now on, in order for the Unification Church to advance, even God will be mobilized and the patriot­ic forefathers of the past as well. In fact, everyone in the spirit world should be mobilized. Those in the spirit world are in the Cain position, whereas we who are living on earth are in the Abel posi­tion, and so all of them will render us assistance in connection with territory. God, the angels, and our ancestors must help us. (158-129, 1967.12.26)
