Changemakers Rhea, A’lysha and Melvina, guided by their tutor advisor, Dr Sathisha, took on a new learning adventure at the 13th Regional Congress Search for SEAMEO Young Scientists.
This year's theme? Using STEAM to tackle One Health-related challenge!
They chose to address the critical issue of antimicrobial resistance in the poultry industry. With the help of bacteriophages, natural viral predators of bacteria, they proposed a sustainable alternative to the overuse of antibiotics.
Thanks to the mentorship of Associate Professor Dr Heraa and Dr Sivachandran from AIMST University, our young scientists turned their theoretical concepts into practical solutions. They mastered microbiology lab skills and genomic analysis using cutting-edge tech tools!
During the presentation, the trio showcased their groundbreaking work among 130 schools from Southeast Asia and formed friendships with fellow young scientists passionate about using STEAM to make the world a better place!
Join us in congratulating our young scientists for their resilience and innovation!
