08. Lost Languages!
“Seven days from now
I will send rain on the earth for forty days
and forty nights,
and I will wipe from the face
of the earth every living creature I have made.”
(Genesis 7:4)
Participating in Noah’s Ark salvation project is solely a matter of the difference in the ability to recognize and look at God’s word and the result of faith. Even if one does not fully understand that God will judge, the event of Noah’s Ark was to show that a person of faith would naturally be saved.
People who spoke the same language scoffed at Noah’s words, but many animals that could no longer communicate through language came towards their salvation without being informed separately. Anyway, Noah obeyed God’s command and carried it out, becoming a great figure in the history of faith.
Through such a process, Noah finally closed the door of the ark according to God’s word. And he waited three more days inside Noah’s Ark, waiting for God’s promise. When the time came for God to fulfill His promise, God’s plan was carried out as scheduled. On that day, the imbalanced elements of the earth’s ecosystem, accumulated since Adam, suddenly broke the earth’s balance due to God’s touch. And as this great change in the earth’s ecosystem occurred, the sensitive water layer boundary that had been thickly protecting the earth was first destroyed, and all that water began to pour down on the earth at once.
Meanwhile, as this situation unfolded, the animals that had come out to Noah’s Ark to survive and the many people who had come to see Noah’s Ark showed opposite reactions. The animals waited calmly, hoping they might also get a chance to board Noah’s Ark, but the people watching this scene mocked Noah and his family, not knowing that the rain would engulf the world. Then, when the rain finally started pouring down, people laughed and said,
“It’s raining as Noah said!”
They laughed, holding their bellies, thinking how much rain could come, and even if it did, how much water it would be, based on their life experiences. However, the animals left behind, unable to board the ark, instinctively sensed their impending death and destruction and cried out loudly, making this place a truly tragic and ironic scene.
Contrary to people’s thoughts, the rain that was pouring down to engulf the world grew thicker, and in the scene where the animals cried out more desperately, people mocked Noah’s family even more. But the rain formed a great flood and swallowed them all. When the heavens opened and the water layer that had been protecting the earth from space and maintaining the earth’s environment collapsed, all the water in the sky poured down on the earth at once. And most of the land exposed above the water was instantly submerged.
In the process, people who suddenly felt a sense of crisis tried desperately to climb to higher places, whatever they were, to find a way to survive. Some people screamed and begged to open the door of the ark, but it was only for a moment. Soon, those sounds were drowned out by the rain, and even if the sound was loud, it was already too late. Once closed, the door of the ark never opened again. And the water streams and waves that came from somewhere swallowed them all at once, and all living creatures that breathed through their noses were drowned in the water, and even the plants on the ground seemed to have become extinct.
And the enormous weight of the water that poured down acted with tremendous pressure, and the crust of the continent, unable to withstand this water pressure, broke like an ice sheet, causing tectonic movements where the land and land pushed and pushed each other, one side being pushed into the ground and the other rising above it, creating phenomena where the surface of the earth was violently shaken.
As the land shook and was pushed into the ground, the many waters in the ground, pressed by the great weight and force, squeezed between the ground and soared high into the sky, spewing out large streams of water. The force of these water streams was so strong that they pushed away the water that had already covered the ground and soared high into the sky, falling back down like a waterfall. What could be seen was only the water pouring from the sky and the water gushing from the ground due to the movement of the earth! The world was filled with nothing but water.
And the hot lava that flowed out from the ground due to the tectonic movements rapidly evaporated the water, and a large amount of steam soared into the sky, meeting the cold air in the sky and rapidly turning into water droplets, pouring back down to the ground. This strange phenomenon continued for about 30 more days after the first 10 days of rain following the flood.
Now, the whole world was truly a water world and a battlefield of waters. In such chaos, the weak part of the east of Canaan, the center of all the land, split vertically, separating the eastern land mass into America, forming the Atlantic Ocean between the two continents. And this valley in the water continued from Europe and Africa to Canaan, forming the Mediterranean Sea by splitting the center into upper and lower parts, connecting to the Atlantic Ocean. And the southern part of Canaan, the lower part of India, split, forming the Indian Ocean. As a result, the Pacific Ocean, which was entirely a sea, was halved, pushed from east to west, and the Indian Ocean was pushed from west to east, unable to withstand the forces pushing from both sides, rising up from the ground, forming the highest peaks in the world, such as the Pamir Plateau, the Tianshan Mountains, and the Altai Mountains, and gradually forming the current map of the world’s land and sea.
As the land split and the lands collided, one land was pushed up onto another, and the other was pushed down, creating phenomena where the two plates met and formed a deep line in the sea, connecting Japan and the Philippines, forming a major earthquake zone due to the friction caused by the two plates still being pushed from both sides. The Indian Ocean also split and pushed eastward, forming a line of land from Thailand to Indonesia, which is the earthquake zone created by that scar.
Due to the great tectonic movements under the water and land, the once unified continent was greatly divided into east and west, and as the land mass was torn apart, many scars appeared on the edges of the land, and the land pushed and collided, creating places that rose and sank, and the appearance of the land under the water had already changed to a completely different appearance from before.
As the great earthquake and various other forces shook all the waters on this land, there was no way for any breathing creature or plant to survive. And this sight was only seen and known by God; no human could witness it. Moreover, Noah and his children in the Ark had no idea about this and simply waited quietly, holding their breath, for the day the rain would stop. The animals in the Ark, due to the situation, sat or lay down in the dark ship, falling into a deep sleep until their world would return.
However, only Noah’s Ark, which was built exactly as God had instructed, floated safely on the water amidst such tremendous trials. And as the continuous rain, which had been falling day and night, gradually began to decrease, after 40 days, all these phenomena finally ended, and the rain stopped.
