Bible Reading - Proverbs 4:1~9

4:1 Listen, my sons, to a father's instruction; 

내 아들들아, 아버지의 훈계를 들으라.

pay attention and gain understanding. 주의를 기울이고 명철을 얻으라.

4:2 I give you sound learning, 내가 너에게 건전한 학식을 준다.

so do not forsake my teaching.그래서 내 가르침을 저버리지 말라.

4:3 When I was a boy in my father's house, 내가 내 아버지의 집에서 소년이었을 때

still tender, and an only child of my mother, 여전히 유약하며 내 어머니의 유일한 아들이었다.

4:4 he taught me and said, 그가 내게 가르쳐 말씀하시기를 

"Lay hold of my words with all your heart; 전심으로 내 말을 붙잡고 

keep my commands and you will live. 내 명령을 지키면 네가 살 것이다. 

4:5 Get wisdom, get understanding; 지혜를 얻으며 명철을 얻으라

do not forget my words or swerve(빗나가다) from them.

내 말을 잊지 말라 그렇지 않으면 그 말들로부터 빗나가게 된다. 

4:6 Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; 

지혜를 버리지 말라 그러면 지혜가 너를 보호할 것이다. 

love her, and she will watch over you. 지혜를 사랑하면 지혜가 너를 지켜줄 것이다. 

4:7 Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. 지혜가 최고이니 그러므로 지혜를 얻으라.

Though it cost all you have, get understanding.

비록 네가 가진 모든 것을 들인다해도 명철을 얻으라.

4:8 Esteem her, and she will exalt you; 지혜를 존중하며 지혜가 너를 높일 것이다. 

embrace her, and she will honor you. 지혜를 껴안으라 그러면 지혜가 너를 존중할 것이다. 

4:9 She will set a garland of grace on your head 

지혜가 너의 머리 위에 은혜의 화관을 씌울 것이며 

and present you with a crown of splendor."

영광의 왕관을 너에게 줄 것이다.
