미시시피 델타의 심장인 Stovall plantation에서 태어나 1960년대 '화이트-블루스’의 가장 영향력 있는 블루스맨중 한 명으로 손꼽히는 전설적인 뮤지션, Eddie Boyd (1914. 11.25 ~ 2994. 7. 13)가 1964년 발표한 첫 번째 앨범이자 최고작 중 하나.

유럽 투어 중 런던의 유서 깊은 Wessex Sound Studio에서 레코딩한 이 앨범에는 앨범 타이틀로도 명명한 리듬 앤 블루스 차트 히트 싱글인 “Five Long Years"가 수록되었으며 이후 B.B.King, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton을 비롯한 수많은 뮤지션들이 그의 곡을 커버하였다.
