글은 오래오래 종이에 남는 것이고
말은 그냥 사라지는 것으로 생각하기 쉽다

그러나
한 마디의 말 또한
듣는 이의 마음속에 오랫동안 간직된다

한 사람의 펜으로 씌어진 글은
그 사람 특유의 개성을 지닌 작품이 되듯
한 사람의 입에서 나온 말은
그 사람의 인격을 드러내는 하나의 작품이다

그러므로
끊임없는 노력으로
참으로 선하고 진실하고 아름다운
말의 작품을 빚을 일이다
