Year 6 Entry Point - Migration
For Year 6's Entry Point for Migration, the children were told before school that they suddenly needed to flee Penang and were given just 10 minutes to pack a bag. Once at school, the students discussed which items were essential survival needs versus personal comforts, and they even had the opportunity to trade items with one another.
To pass through border control, the children created passports to keep safe throughout their journey. They then navigated a series of realistic scenarios to test their preparedness for travelling to another country, leading to a border checkpoint challenge. Finally, the students worked in groups to build temporary shelters, however, when a “monsoon” hit, many of the structures unfortunately failed to hold up.
