Greg's Number Game Was Phoney;
Wouldn't Vote for Kelly Anyway
Hello Survivor Fans.
I heard an interesting piece of news that I had to pass on, since I am getting sick of all the Greg bashing. Oh how people whine. “Greg gave the million to that Evil Richard because of his childish number guessing game” or “Greg was a coward who couldn’t make a decision and used his guessing game as a cop out”. Get Real!
Here’ the story behind Greg’s “pick a number” strategy (If you could call it that) straight from the source, Greg Buis. A local radio morning show in Phoenix, “The New Guys” on 101.5 The Zone, found out the hotel Greg was staying at and the alias he was staying under, so they called him on Thursday morning. After several attempts Greg finally answered the phone. Greg was very tired from “partying like a rock star” (his words) the night before after the Town Hall Meeting. He made a remark about how he was disappointed about the Town Hall Meeting because of Bryant Gumbel’s “boring questions” (once again, his words).
The New Guys (huge fans of the show) then asked Greg about his reasoning behind his “pick a number” voting strategy. They asked Greg “What if Kelly had picked 8,9 or 10? Then she would have won the million?” Greg then answered with this bombshell “If Kelly had picked a number closer to mine than Rich, I would have changed my number”. The DJs then asked “So you wanted rich to win?” and Greg replied “ Yeah, pretty much.”
So I guess Greg had already made up his mind to vote for Richard. He had to get up and say something, so he came up with “pick a number” in his wacky Greg mind. I for one, laughed out loud, after he asked his “question”. Especially after the requisite “Job interview” questions asked by the previous jury members. Oh so boring.
Anyway, I thought I’d pass along this nugget of info since only a small number of Phoenix radio listeners were privy to Greg’s ramblings that morning.
