구입 일주일째 되는 지난 10월 23일 KOTM V3.1깔고 먹통 (부팅 불가, USB연결 불가) 이 된 오레곤을
드디어 오늘 대만가민사로 부터 수리 받았습니다.
고장 다음날 구입처에도 전화를 했으나 전화받는 태도로 봐서 도통 기대키 어렵고
기대하는 내가 그르지 닌들 뭘 알겠나 싶어 정식A/S절차 밟는 쪽으로 선회.
A/S신청 절차는 펌웨어 다운그레이드 하는 과정에서 나오는 오류메세지를 가민지원부로
보내는 것으로 시작했습니다.

I will be happy to set up a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) for the repair; however, I will need to verify some information to be able to do so. Please verify and complete as needed the following information in a reply to this email:

* All Garmin products are warranted to be free from defects in materials or workmanship for one year from the date of purchase.
* If your device is under 1 year old, to obtain warranty service, an original or copy of the sales receipt from the original retailer is required showing the original date of purchase. Online auction confirmations are not accepted for warranty verification. You may do this by either by attaching an image to this email, or if you need to send it by fax, please send it to: 913-440-8280 Attn: ADAM H, Associate #6124 Please include all information from above as well. Once warranty is verified, the device by repaired at no cost to you (you will not need to place a check in the box). Your return unit includes a 90 day warranty or the remainder of your current warranty whichever is the greater.
* If your unit is over 1 year old, outside of warranty there is a flat rate of repair of $99.00 plus tax if applicable. This will cover any and all issues with your current unit, and includes updating software, return shipping, and provides your return unit with a 90 day warranty (or the remainder of your original warranty, whichever is the greater.)
· You may send in a check to cover the repair costs. Please rubber band the check to the device with the RMA number in the memo line of the check. I will include the total amount (including tax if applicable) with RMA number in my reply. Keep in mind, shipping of the returned item may be delayed until the check has cleared.
**Request submitted via email will by default be setup as payment by check.**
*If you desire payment by other means:
· While it is not recommended that you provide credit card information in your e-mail, if you choose to do so, please provide the full name as it appears on the card, expiration date, the card number, and accepted card type: American Express, Visa, Master Card, or Discover
· If sending credit card information by way of email is a concern, please provide us with a contact number and a best time to reach you, and we will make the attempt to contact you.
If you have not done so already, please register your device here: https://my.garmin.com/mygarmin/marketing/register.htm . It is important to have your unit registered so that in the unlikely event your device is separated from the paper work, or lost in the mail, we will have a record of the serial number in question.
When I receive this information, I will email you the address and your RMA number to have the unit shipped back to us for the repair. We cannot guarantee GPS data recovery, if at all possible, please backup your GPS before sending it to us. From the time that we receive the unit, we should have a replacement unit back to you in approximately 10-14 business days.

메일을 읽는 담당자에 따라 약간씩 다른 답변들이 오던데 이 카페에서 발견할 수 있는 조치방법을
해보라는 식의 답장이 오고.....
이미 해볼건 다 해본터라
그래도 되지않으니 수리를 위해서 어디로 보내면 되는냐의 질문에
아래의 답장을 받을 수 있었습니다.
제가 영어가 짧아 오레곤과 케이블을 같이 넣어서 보내라는 정도 밖에 알아먹질 못해서
두개만 보냈더니 RMA form이 빠졌다는 메일이 오더군요.
이게 없으면 수리를 진행할 수 없다고.... 순간 섬찟했는데
내용은 메일로 이미 미국본사로 보낸터라
빠진부분을 메일로 보충하는 걸로 해결이 되었습니다.
RMA form 은 이름 주소등 신상명세와 고장증상, 기기번호, 이메일주소, 구입일 그리고 가장 중요한
수리비, 우송료를 결재할 수 있는 카드정보 (발행국, 발행은행,카드종류, 번호, 사용기한날짜, 카드뒷면의 3자리번호)
가 있어야 되더군요. (위 답장 참조)
비용은 보낼때 ems 14,700원 그쪽에서 카드결제 한게 $31.84
이렇게 들었습니다.

Thanks for contacting GARMIN corp. Your mail has been forwarded on to us from Garmin International.
The problem you are experiencing will require your the unit and USB cable to come into Garmin Taiwan for repair. I will be happy to set up a Return Material
Authorization(RMA) for a warranty repair which does not cover failures due to abuse, misuse, accident or unauthorized alterations or repairs.
Please be noted that the freight fee is USD$32 by DHL after repair.
Meanwhile, we will format all the data in your unit, so please back up all your necessary data from your unit before it is sent back to be repaired.
Such repairs or replacement will be made no guarantee that users' own accessories (ex. screen protector membrane) will be returned in the original condition.
Please remove your own accessories if you want to keep them.
And the normal repair process will take about 5-7 business days upon receiving your unit.
Before shipping the unit to Garmin, please make sure that you have completed the following :
1. Fill out (Typing, please) the attached RMA Form
2. Return the device and USB cable with the RMA form to the following address: Please send in the unit with an RMA number on the outside of the package.
(The valid period of this RMA form is 30 days.)

첫댓글 고생하셨습니다.판매처라면 어디를 말씀하시는건가요? 혹시 이곳에 보내 보셨나요? http://www.garmin.co.kr/ 이곳에서 A/S가능한것으로 알고 있는데 궁금하네요.마음고생도 하셨을것 같구요...
고장이 생기면서 바로 한글판을 구입하긴 했지만 이건 거기서 구입한게 아니라 연락을 해보진 않았습니다.
한글판이 고장나서 거기 보내도 결국 대만으로 넘기지않겠습니까.

사실 해외구매 선호하는 입장에서 제일 꺼려지는 것이 A/S 발생시 어떻게 대처할 것인가 하는 부분인데, 많은 도움이 되었습니다.
가민 코리아에서 아직 550을 판매치 않아 구매대행이나 ebay 등을 알아보고 있는데, djaTma님은 어디에서 구매하셨는지요?
구매처를 밝히기는 좀 그렇네요. 아직 거기도 550은 없더군요.
국내 버전을 구입하여 사용중 갑자기 기기먹통으로 AS요청해서 수리비용이 20만원 나왔습니다(신품으로 교체해주더군요). 가민Cx . 국내버전이 고장나도 수리비는 엄청나다는 뜻으로 말씀드리는 것입니다.
1년이 넘었거나 사용자 잘못으로 인한 고장일 경우 수리비 99불을 받는다고 합니다.
20만원은 너무 과한 가격이네요.
