Taipei Tzu Chi Hospital celebrates the Mid-Autumn Festival by reciprocating their gratitude to Tzu Chi volunteers. 

As the annual TIMA Convention kicks off this year, volunteers welcome participants home to Hualien.

1. 北慈懿德中秋+慈中秋家訪 

We begin today’s program in Taiwan. At the Taipei Tzu Chi Hospital, staff and volunteers have been preparing for the Mid-Autumn Festival. We’ll check out some of their recent activities including tagging along with a medical team on a home visit to see a 95 year old patient. And, we’ll also see how the medical staff has been preparing almond cookies as a way to say thank you to the volunteers for their hard work. 

台北慈濟醫院為中秋佳節做足準備。先帶大家來看看，最近舉辦的一些活動，包括醫護人員家訪一位95歲長者的病人。接著，還要一起來看看，醫護人員如何製作杏仁餅，送給照顧他們的醫院志工，表示感恩。 

2. 基隆颱風關懷 

On the eve of Typhoon Meranti’s approach in Taiwan, Tzu Chi volunteers in Keelung brought their love to care recipients living in mountainous regions, reminding seniors to protect themselves from torrential rain and wind. 

強颱莫蘭蒂來勢洶洶，基隆的慈濟志工，趕在強颱莫蘭蒂來襲前，帶著關懷到山上訪視獨居長者，關心長輩，叮嚀防風雨的準備。 

3. 閩坂東初勘併 

Moving to China, on July 9, Typhoon Nepartak struck Fujian Province with the most affected areas being Bandong and Putian City near Fuzhou. To prepare for this year’s winter distribution, Tzu Chi volunteers recently made another inspection of care recipient’s conditions to learn about their needs. 

轉到中國，七月九號尼伯特颱風，重創福建省福州，其中以兩個地區，受災範圍最大，今年的冬令發放前，志工展開挨家挨戶進行初訪，更是要看看鄉親們，最近好嗎。 

4. 路州水患再發放 

In the United States, on August 10, Southern Louisiana suffered severe flooding from a heavy rainstorm. On August 23, Tzu Chi volunteers from the Texas Chapter began three weeks of disaster surveys. A month has passed and many of the residents have yet to stabilize their living conditions. Tzu Chi’s volunteers recently went back to Baton Rouge to conduct another cash card distribution, this time even aiding some first responders. 

路易斯安那州8月10日，連續多日的洪水，水患嚴重，慈濟德州分會的志工，從8月23日進入災區，進行勘災賑災的行動，大水過後一個月，許多受災居民還沒能恢復穩定生活，慈濟志工再度來到巴頓魯治，舉辦現值卡的發放，這次還幫助了搶救生命的前線救難人員。 

5. 全球人醫報到 

The 2016 TIMA Convention kicked off on the evening of September 14 in Hualien, Taiwan. More than 600 attendees from some 20 countries across the world have come to take part in this event. To ensure that their counterparts get sufficient rest, local volunteers worked together to make their guests feel right at home. 

2016國際慈濟人醫年會，在9月14號正式開營，來自全球20個國家地區的620多位學員前來參加，為了讓大家養精蓄銳，當地志工們同心協力，讓這些人醫有回到家的感覺。 

6. 醫療三十 

This year, Tzu Chi Foundation’s Mission of Medicine celebrates 30 years of service. In the early years, Master Cheng Yen personally conducted home visits to deliver aid to impoverished families. Through such visits, she discovered that illness and poverty are interconnected. To address the problem, the Master set up a free clinic in Hualien while also raising funds to build a hospital. After overcoming many obstacles, the Hualien Tzu Chi General Hospital was finally inaugurated in 1986. 30 years on, Tzu Chi’s medical network continues to expand across the globe while its volunteers continue to reach out to every corner where medical help is needed. 

今年是慈濟醫療志業三十年，回想當年，證嚴上人都會親自訪貧，將物資給貧窮家庭，也因此上人發現了貧病總相依，上人為了幫助他們，在花蓮市仁愛路成立義診所，進而號召眾人善心，吊部蓋醫院，僅管歷經波折，花蓮慈濟醫院也在1986啟用，三十年後，慈濟醫療網已經遍佈全球各個角落，將醫療帶給需要的人。 

7. 星月下愛延敘(三) 

Syrian refugees living in exile fear getting sick, now with help from the Turkish government they can go to public hospitals for free medical treatment. However, the language barrier between Turkish doctors and Syrian patients still prevents many refugees from going to the hospital. For this reason, in March of 2016, Tzu Chi volunteers in Turkey established a free clinic for Syrian refugees. The Turkish government provided the facilities while Tzu Chi recruited Syrian physicians and nurses to help protect the health of their fellow countrymen. 

流亡在外的敘利亞難民，最怕遇到身體的病痛，土耳其的敘利亞難民，在土耳其政府的協助下，生病了可以到土耳其的公立醫院，免費看病，但是語言障礙，讓敘利亞難民無法與土耳其醫師們溝通，有些人因此不願意上醫院，因此土耳其慈濟志工，不捨敘利亞鄉親受病痛之苦，開始籌備義診中心，2016年3月正式成立慈濟義診中心，由土耳其政府提供場地，慈濟基金會則找來敘利亞籍醫師與護理人員，守護敘利亞鄉親們的健康。 

8. 麻坡成就素宴 

In Malaysia, the Tzu Chi Muar Branch recently held a vegetarian banquet to help raise funds to construct a Jing Si Hall. Thanks to workers and participants, the entire event went off without a hitch. 

在馬來西亞，慈濟麻坡支會舉辦的愛心素宴護持靜思堂，因為大家的參與與成就，已經圓滿落幕。 

END：恆春災後復原 

Typhoon Meranti made landfall in Southern Taiwan and swept through much of the Hengchun region, including Tzu Chi’s recycling station, which was severely damaged. Though disaster victims themselves, Tzu Chi volunteers put aside their own clean up to help other residents’ first.
