주간묵상 25-34

<환부를 도려내자!>

꾸며본 가설-

백만 원이 꼭 필요한 때

폐차하러 가던 차를

상대방의 과실로 접촉사고

뒤 본네트 교체가 필요.

상당한 수리비가 예상.

상대는 내막을 모르고

백만 원에 합의하자며

손을 비비며 머리를 숙인다.

하나님의 은혜일까?

“폐차하려는 차인데

괜찮습니다. 그냥 가세요.”

바보인가? 참 목사인가?

여러 면에 적용해 보자!

말 한마디에 백만 원이 좌우.

아니 수억도, 물론 구원도.

백만 원을 받고 폐차장에 갔는데

백만 원 준분이 폐차장 사장.

사돈을 교도소에서 만난 격.

조금 후 폐차장에

부속을 구하러 오신 장로님.

“목사님! 여기 어쩐 일이세요?”

“아 장로님 어 거시기 --”

하필 이때 장로님이-

폐차장에는 쥐구멍이 없었다.

사기꾼이란?

거짓을 사실처럼 속이거나,

사소한 것을 부풀려 과장하거나.

진실을 왜곡하여 상대에게서

불의한 이득을 취하려는 것.

거짓말을 해야 할 때도 있다.

옛날 심방하던 때가 생각난다.

“목사님 식사 안하셨지요?”

“아뇨! 배불리 먹었습니다.”

사실은 배가 고프지만

폐를 끼치지 않으려고-

부모는 거짓말쟁이

“엄마는 배부르다.”

“아빠는 고기 좋아하지 않는다.”

목사도 거짓말쟁이

“저는 괜찮습니다.”

목사는 사기꾼이 아닌

거짓말쟁이면 좋겠다.

기독교의 캐논은 고무줄 잣대.

신구약 저울추는 두 개.

성경해석은 아전인수.

윤리도덕성은 내로남불.

겉모습은 회칠한 무덤.

신앙은 이기주의, 샤머니즘.

기복설교는 사기꾼의 감언이설.

그런 기독교는 사기집단.

예수님의 십자가와 부활 없이

모세오경이 해석 될 수 없고,

오경을 모르면 성경 전체를

정상적으로 이해할 수 없는 것.

모든 종교는 윤리도덕을 부르짖지만

십자가와 부활은 기독교뿐이다.

십자가가 없으면 부활도 구원도 없다.

한국기독교는 십자가가 부러졌다.

11살에 아버지를 떠날 때,

가방에 성경 한 권을 넣어주시며

“어디를 가든지 가지고 다녀라!”

“요한계시록강해”를 쓸 수 있었고,

“십자가와 모세오경”을 쓸 수 있었고,

“성서신학, 목회학, 선교학. 교육학” 등

30여권의 책을 쓸 수 있었던 것,

“아버지! 감사합니다.”

환부를 도려내는 심정으로-

“십자가와 모세오경(한⋅영 합본)”

<Cut Away the Infected Part!>

An imagined scene-

A moment when a million won is desperately needed.

On the way to scrap an old car,

a sudden accident-caused by the other driver.

The rear bonnet smashed,

the repair bill, surely high.

The other driver, unaware of the truth,

bows low, rubbing his hands,

“Let’s settle it for a million won.”

Is this God’s providence?

“But this car is bound for the junkyard. It’s fine. Go your way.”

A fool? Or a true pastor?

Think of it-one word can decide a million won.

One word could mean billions-even salvation.

But what if you took the money, and at the junkyard you discovered-

the one who paid was the owner himself?

Like meeting your in-law in prison.

A little later, an elder walks in, seeking spare parts:

“Pastor! What brings you here?”

“Oh, Elder, well… you see-”

At that moment,

there was no mouse hole in the junkyard to crawl into and hide.

What is a swindler?

One who dresses lies as truth,

who magnifies the trivial to deceive,

who twists what is right

to snatch unrighteous gain.

Yes, there are times when a lie slips from our lips.

I recall the days of visitation:

“Pastor, you haven’t eaten, have you?”

“Oh no, I’m full.”

Though my stomach growled,

I would not burden them.

Parents too become liars:

“Mommy is full.”

“Daddy doesn’t like meat.”

Pastors as well:

“I’m all right.”

Better, far better,

to be a harmless liar-than to be a swindler.

Christianity’s canon-like a rubber ruler.

Two weights for Old and New.

Interpretation bent to self-interest.

Ethics and morals, sheer hypocrisy.

Outwardly, a whitewashed tomb.

Faith twisted into selfishness,
shamanism in disguise.

Prosperity preaching,
the sweet talk of swindlers.

Such Christianity-a den of fraud.

Without the Cross and the Resurrection,

the Pentateuch cannot be understood.

Without the Pentateuch,

the whole of Scripture cannot be rightly known.

All religions cry for morals,

but only Christianity proclaims the Cross and the Resurrection.

Without the Cross,

there is no Resurrection-
and no salvation.

In Korea, the Cross has been broken.

At eleven years old,
when I parted from my father,

he placed a Bible in my bag:

“Take this with you, wherever you go.”

Because of that gift,

I could write Exposition on Revelation,

The Cross and the Pentateuch,

and thirty more volumes-

Biblical Theology, Pastoral Theology,
Missiology, Christian Education.

“Father, thank you.”

With the resolve to cut away every infected part,
