二, 如來現相品

The Manifestations of the Thus Come One

五, 現瑞表法 상서를 나타내어 법을 표하다

1, 放光示法 광명을 놓아 법을 보이다

①爾時에 世尊이 欲令一切菩薩大衆으로 得於如來無邊境界神通力故로

放眉間光하시니 此光이 名一切菩薩智光明普照耀十方藏이라

其狀이 猶如寶色燈雲하야 徧照十方一切佛刹하사 其中國土와

及以衆生을 悉令顯現하시며

그때 세존께서 모든 보살대중들에게 여래의 그지없는 경계와 신통력을 얻게 하기 위하여

미간에서 광명을 놓으시니,

그 광명은 이름이 일체보살지광명보조요시방장(日切菩薩智光明普照耀十方藏)이라,

그 모양은 마치 보배빛 나는 등불구름 같아서, 시방의 모든 부처님 세계를 두루 비추며

그 가운데의 국토와 중생들을 모두 나타나게 하였다.

At that time, wishing to enable all the Bodhisattvas and others in the assembly to attain

the Thus Come One's boundless realm and power of spiritual powers,

the World Honored One emitted light from between his brows.

This light was called Light of All Bodhisattvas' Wisdom Universally Illuminating

the Treasury of the Ten Directions. In the form of a cloud of jewel-hued lamps,

it shone upon all Buddhalands throughout the ten directions.

The light revealed all the lands and beings within its illumination,

At that time:그때

wishing to enable ~to attain:얻게 하기 위하여

all the Bodhisattvas and others in the assembly :모든 보살대중들에게

the Thus Come One's boundless realm :여래의 그지없는 경계

power of spiritual powers:신통력  the World Honored One :세존

emitted light from between his brows:미간에서 광명을 놓으시니

This light was called:광명은 이름이

Light of All Bodhisattvas' Wisdom Universally Illuminating the Treasury of the Ten Directions

:일체보살지광명보조요시방장(日切菩薩智光明普照耀十方藏)

In the form of :그 모양 a cloud of jewel-hued lamps:마치 보배빛 나는 등불구름

it shone upon ~ : 비추며  all Buddhalands:모든 부처님 세계

throughout the ten directions: 두루 시방  The light revealed :모두 나타나게 하였다

all the lands and beings :국토와 중생들 within its illumination:그 가운데의

Then the Buddha, wishing to enable all the enlightening beings to realize the spiritual power of the boundless

realm of the Enlightened One, emitted a light from between his brows. That light was called Treasury of the Light

of Knowledge of All Enlightening Beings Illumining the Ten Directions. Its form was like a cloud of lamps with

jewel like light. It shone throughout all buddha-fields in the ten directions, revealing all the lands and beings

②又普震動諸世界網하야 一一塵中에 現無數佛하사 隨諸衆生의 性欲不同하야

普雨三世一切諸佛妙法輪雲하사 顯示如來波羅蜜海하시며

또 모든 세계의 그물을 널리 진동하여 낱낱 티끌 속에서 수없는 부처님을 나타내고,

모든 중생들의 근성과 욕망이 같지 아니함을 따라서 삼세 일체 모든 부처님의 미묘한 법륜구름을

널리 쏟아서, 여래의 바라밀바다를 나타내보이며,

and caused the network of all worlds to quake. It further manifested countless Buddhas

in every mote of dust. In accordance with the differing natures and desires of beings,

the light showered everywhere clouds of wheels of wondrous Dharma spoken by all Buddhas

of the three periods of time, and displayed the Thus Come One's ocean of paramitas.

caused ~to quake:널리 진동하여  the network of all worlds:모든 세계의 그물

It further manifested :나타내고  countless Buddhas :수없는 부처님

in every mote of dust:낱낱 티끌 속에서  In accordance with :따라서

the differing natures and desires of beings:모든 중생들의 근성과 욕망이 같지 아니함

the light showered everywhere :널리 쏟아서

clouds of wheels of wondrous Dharma :미묘한 법륜구름

all Buddhas of the three periods of time :삼세 일체 모든 부처님

displayed: 나타내보이며 the Thus Come One's ocean of paramitas:여래의 바라밀바다

It also caused all networks of worlds to tremble. In every single atoms it revealed innumerable Buddhas showering

the teachings of all the Buddhas of all times, in accord with the differences in character and inclination of the various

sentient beings. It clearly showed the Buddha's ocean of transcendent ways, <Thomas Cleary>

③又雨無量諸出離雲하사 令諸衆生으로 永度生死케하시며 復雨諸佛大願之雲하사

 顯示十方諸世界中普賢菩薩道場衆會하고 作是事已에 右遶於佛하야 從足下入하시니라

또 한량없는 모든 벗어버리고 떠나는 구름을 쏟아서 모든 중생들에게 영원히 생사를 떠나게 하며,

또 모든 부처님의 큰 서원구름을 쏟아서 시방 모든 세계 가운데의 보현보살 도량에 모인 대중들을

나타내보였다. 이러한 일을 짓고 나서 부처님의 오른쪽으로 돌고 발밑으로 들어갔다.

Then it rained down limitless, transcendent clouds that eternally liberated beings from birth

and death. It further rained down clouds of the great vows of all Buddhas, which revealed the

assemblies in Universal Worthy Bodhisattva's bodhimandas in the worlds of the ten directions.

Having done these deeds, the light circled to the right around the Buddha and went in under his

Then it rained down:또 ~쏟아서

limitless, transcendent clouds :한량없는 모든 벗어버리고 떠나는 구름

that eternally liberated beings from birth and death

:모든 중생들에게 영원히 생사를 떠나게 하며

It further rained down :쏟아서

clouds of the great vows of all Buddhas:모든 부처님의 큰 서원구름

which revealed :나타내보였다.  the assemblies :모인 대중들

in Universal Worthy Bodhisattva's bodhimandas :보현보살 도량에

in the worlds of the ten directions:시방 모든 세계 가운데의

Having done these deeds:이러한 일을 짓고 나서

the light circled to the right around :부처님의 오른쪽으로 돌고

the Buddha and went in under his feet: 발 밑으로 들어갔다.

and also rained infinite clouds of various emancipations, causing the sentient beings to forever cross over birth

and death. It also showered clouds of the great vows of the Buddhas, and clearly showed, in all worlds in the ten

directions, the universally good enlightening beings' congregations at the sites of enlightenment. Having done all this,

the light swirled around the Buddha, circling to the right, then went in under his feet. <Thomas Cleary>

2, 現華表義 연꽃이 나타나서 뜻을 표하다

①爾時佛前에 有大蓮華가 忽然出現하니 其華가 具有十種莊嚴하야

一切蓮華의 所不能及이니

그때에 부처님 앞에 큰 연꽃이 홀연히 출현하였으니 그 꽃은 열 가지 장엄을 갖추고 있어서

온갖 다른 연꽃으로는 미칠 수 없었다.

Suddenly, an immense lotus appeared before the Buddha. Surpassing all other lotuses,

the flower had ten kinds of adornments. <Translated into English by B.T.T.S.>

Suddenly:홀연히 an immense lotus :큰 연꽃이

appeared :출현하였으니 before the Buddha:부처님 앞에

Surpassing all other lotuses:온갖 다른 연꽃으로는 미칠 수 없었다.

the flower had ten kinds of adornments:그 꽃은 열 가지 장엄을 갖추고 있어서

Then an immense lotus blossom suddenly appeared before the Buddha. That lotus had ten kinds of adornments,

unmatched by any other lotuses. <Thomas Cleary>

②所謂衆寶間錯으로 以爲其莖하며 摩尼寶王으로 以爲其藏하며

法界衆寶로 普作其葉하며 諸香摩尼로 而作其鬚하며 閻浮檀金으로 莊嚴其臺하며

妙網覆上하야 光色淸淨하며

이른바 여러 보배가 사이사이 섞인 것으로 그 줄기가 되고, 마니보배왕으로 그 연밥이 되고,

법계의 온갖 보배로 널리 그 잎이 되고, 모든 향기 나는 마니로 꽃술이 되고,

염부단금(閻浮檀金)으로 그 연대(蓮臺)를 장엄하고, 미묘한 그물로 위에 덮어서 빛깔이 청정하며,

That is to say, it had a stem of assorted jewels, a seedpod of splendid mani gems, petals made

of all the jewels of the Dharma Realm, pistils of fragrant mani, and a base ornamented with

jambunada gold. Beautiful nets shaded it from above, and its hues were luminous and pure.

That is to say:이른바  it had a stem of :그 줄기가 되고

assorted jewels:여러 보배가 사이사이 섞인 것으로

a seedpod of splendid mani gems:마니보배왕으로 그 연밥이 되고

petals made of all the jewels of the Dharma Realm:법계의 온갖 보배로 널리 그 잎이 되고

pistils of fragrant mani:모든 향기 나는 마니로 꽃술이 되고

a base ornamented with jambunada gold:염부단금(閻浮檀金)으로 그 연대(蓮臺)를 장엄하고

Beautiful nets shaded it from above:미묘한 그물로 위에 덮어서

its hues were luminous and pure:빛깔이 청정하며

That is to say, its stem was a mixture of various gems; its bud was of diamond; its petals were all the jewels in the

universe; its pistils were of fragrant gems; rose gold adorned its base; exquisite nets covered it above; its radiant

color was pure; <Thomas Cleary>

③於一念中에 示現無邊諸佛神變하며 普能發起一切音聲하며 摩尼寶王이 影現佛身하며

於音聲中에 普能演說一切菩薩의 所修行願하시니라

한생각 가운데서 끝없는 모든 부처님의 신통변화를 나타내 보이며, 온갖 음성을 널리 일으키며,

마니보배왕이 부처님의 몸을 비추어 나타내며, 음성 가운데서는 모든 보살이 수행하신 서원(誓願)을

널리 연설하였다.

In the space of a thought, it manifested the boundless spiritual transformations of all Buddhas.

It could produce every type of sound. Its splendid mani gems reflected the Buddha's body.

Its sounds proclaimed the practices and vows cultivated by all Bodhisattvas.

In the space of a thought:한 생각 가운데서  it manifested : 나타내 보이며

the boundless spiritual transformations of all Buddhas:끝없는 모든 부처님의 신통변화

It could produce every type of sound:온갖 음성을 널리 일으키며

Its splendid mani gems:마니보배왕이 reflected :비추어 나타내며

the Buddha's body:부처님의 몸 Its sounds proclaimed :널리 연설하였다.

the practices and vows cultivated by all Bodhisattvas:모든 보살이 수행하신 서원(誓願)

it instantaneously displayed the boundless miracles of the Buddhas; it could produce all kinds of sounds;

its diamonds reflected the body of Buddha. In its sounds it could expound all the practical undertakings cultivated by

enlightening beings. <Thomas Cleary>

3, 現衆表敎 보살들이 나아가서 가르침을 표하다

①此華生已에 一念之間에 於如來白毫相中에 有菩薩摩訶薩하니

名一切法勝音이라 與世界海微塵數諸菩薩衆으로 俱時而出하사

右遶如來하야 經無量帀하고 禮佛足已에 時勝音菩薩은 坐蓮華臺하시며

諸菩薩衆은 坐蓮華鬚하야 各於其上에 次第而坐하시니라

이 연꽃이 나고 나서 한생각 사이에 여래의 백호상(白毫相)가운데 보살마하살이 있으니

이름이 일체법승음(一切法勝音)이라, 세계바다 미진수의 모든 보살대중들과 한꺼번에

나와서 여래의 오른쪽으로 한량없이 돌고는 부처님의 발에 예배하였다.

그때에 승음보살은 연화대에 앉으시고 다른 모든 보살대중들은 연꽃 꽃술 위에 각각 차례대로 앉았다.

Instantly, when this flower had sprung up, there appeared in the Thus Come One's

white hair-mark curl a Bodhisattva Mahasattva named Sublime Sound of All Dharmas,

along with a multitude of Bodhisattvas as numerous as the dustmotes in a sea of worlds.

They all came forth and circled to the right around the Thus Come One an infinite number

of times, then bowed at the Buddha's feet. The Bodhisattva Sublime Sound seated himself

upon the base of the lotus, and the multitude of Bodhisattvas seated themselves on the lotus

pistils, arranging themselves in order.<Translated into English by B.T.T.S.>

Instantly:한생각 사이에  when this flower had sprung up:이 연꽃이 나고 나서

in the Thus Come One's white hair-mark curl:여래의 백호상(白毫相)가운데

a Bodhisattva Mahasattva :보살마하살이 있으니

named Sublime Sound of All Dharmas:이름이 일체법승음(一切法勝音)

a multitude of Bodhisattvas :모든 보살대중들 as numerous as the dustmotes :미진수

in a sea of worlds:세계바다  They all came forth :한꺼번에 나와서

circled to the right around the Thus Come One :여래의 오른쪽으로~돌고

an infinite number of times:한량없이

then bowed at the Buddha's feet:부처님의 발에 예배하였다

The Bodhisattva Sublime Sound :승음보살

seated himself upon the base of the lotus:연화대에 앉으시고

the multitude of Bodhisattvas :다른 모든 보살대중들  seated themselves :앉았다.

on the lotus pistils:연꽃 꽃술 위에 arranging themselves in order:각각 차례대로

When this flower had sprung up, in an instant there was, in the curl of white hair on the Buddha's brow,

a great enlightening being named Supreme Sound of All Truths, together with a group of enlightening beings,

as numerous as atoms in an ocean of worlds: they all came forth together and circled the Buddha to the right

innumerable times; then, having bowed to the Buddha, Supreme Sound of All Truths sat on the flower dais,

while the other enlightening beings sat on the pistils.<Thomas Cleary>

②其一切法勝音菩薩이 了深法界하야 生大歡喜하며 入佛所行하야 智無疑滯하며

入不可測佛法身海하며 往一切刹諸如來所하며 身諸毛孔에 悉現神通하며

그 일체법승음(一切法勝音)보살은 깊은 법계를 깨달아 큰 기쁨을 내었으며, 부처님이 행하신 바에

들어가서 지혜가 의심되고 막힘이 없으며, 헤아릴 수 없는 부처님의 법신바다에 들어가며,

온갖 세계 모든 여래의 처소에 나아가며, 몸의 모든 털구멍에서 다 신통을 나타내며,

The Bodhisattva Sublime Sound of All Dharmas, having understood the profound Dharma Realm,

felt tremendous joy. He entered the practice of the Buddhas. Nothing could impede his wisdom.

He entered the unfathomable sea of the Buddha's Dharma body, and visited the Thus Come Ones

in all lands. Every pore of his body displayed spiritual powers.

The Bodhisattva Sublime Sound of All Dharmas:일체법승음(一切法勝音)보살

having understood the profound Dharma Realm:깊은 법계를 깨달아

felt tremendous joy:큰 기쁨을 내었으며 the practice of the Buddhas:부처님이 행하신 바

Nothing could impede his wisdom:지혜가 의심되고 막힘이 없으며

the unfathomable sea of the Buddha's Dharma body:헤아릴 수 없는 부처님의 법신바다

visited the Thus Come Ones in all lands:온갖 세계 모든 여래의 처소에 나아가며

Every pore of his body :몸의 모든 털구멍에서 displayed spiritual powers:신통을 나타내며

This enlightening being Supreme Sound of All Truths comprehended the profound realm of reality, gave rise

to great joy, and entered the sphere of action of the Buddha, his knowledge unobstructed.

He entered the unfathomable ocean of the Buddha's reality-body, and went to where the Buddhas were in all lands.

In each hair pore of his body he showed mystical powers. <Thomas Cleary>

③念念普觀一切法界하며 十方諸佛이 共與其力하사 令普安住一切三昧하며

盡未來劫토록 常見諸佛無邊法界功德海身하며 乃至一切三昧解脫神通變化하시니라

생각생각에 일체 법계를 널리 관찰하며, 시방 모든 부처님이 다 함께 그 힘을 주어 일체 삼매에

널리 안주하게 하며, 미래의 겁이 다하도록 모든 부처님의 끝없는 법계와 공덕바다 몸과 내지 온갖

삼매와 해탈과 신통변화를 항상 보았다.

In every thought he contemplated all dharma realms.

The Buddhas in the ten directions bestowed their powers upon him,

enabling him to abide in all samadhis.

To the ends of time, he can always see the Buddhas' boundless Dharma Realm body with its

ocean of merit and virtue, as well as all their samadhis, liberations, spiritual powers,

In every thought:생각생각에

he contemplated all dharma realms:일체 법계를 널리 관찰하며

The Buddhas in the ten directions:시방 모든 부처님

bestowed their powers upon him:다 함께 그 힘을 주어

enabling him to abide in all samadhis:일체 삼매에 널리 안주하게 하며

To the ends of time:미래의 겁이 다하도록 he can always see :항상 보았다.

the Buddhas' boundless Dharma Realm :모든 부처님의 끝없는 법계

body with its ocean of merit and virtue:공덕바다 몸

as well as all their samadhis: 온갖 삼매

liberations, spiritual powers, and transformations: 해탈과 신통변화

In every moment of thought he contemplated the entire cosmos. The Buddhas of the ten directions al bestowed

their power on him, causing him to rest in all meditation states, forever seeing the Buddhas' body of the ocean of

qualities of the boundless cosmos, including all meditations and liberations, mystic powers and miraculous displays.

Then, in the midst of the assembly, empowered by the Buddha, <Thomas Cleary>

선재동자: 삼매는 시방의 모든세계를 비추어줄 강력한 힘을 가지고 있아옵니다

              위대하신 성자시여, 이러한 일체지혜의 경계를 얻을 수 있는 삼매를 무엇이라 이름 하나이까?

해당비구: 이는 청정광명반야바라밀 삼매의 법문이라는것이다.

               이 삼매는 일체의 세계를 포용하여 무엇하나 빠짐이 없느니라
