교회의 존재 이유는 무엇인가? 그것은 교회가 받은 사명이 결정합니다. 그 사명은 임박한 구원과 심판의 메시지를 전하는 것입니다. 이를 위해 교회에게 먼저 필요한 태도는 무엇인가? 전한 말씀을 먼저 먹으라는 것은 무엇이 증인의 조건이라는 뜻인가? 에에공, 성경은 하나님이 천사의 손으로, 그리고 주님의 손으로 전해주신 하나님의 말씀 이다, 요한의 손에 들어왔지만 요한이 만든 두루마리가 아니고 성경마다 인간 저자가 있지만 모든 성경은 저자를 통해 하나님께서 자신의 영의 감동으로 쓰신 하나님의 뜻이며 호흡이다.

두루마리가 개봉된 인과 나팔 심판 시리즈는 회개를 촉구하도록 고안되었다. 힘센 천사는 하나님의 현현(구름)과 그리스도의 영광(무지개, 해, 불기둥)을 드러내며 사자의 포효처럼 큰 소리로 부르짖는다. 이러한 외양과 음성은 그가 하나님의 명령을 수행

하기 위해 보냄 받은 자인 것과, 그가 전하는 심판과 구속의 메시지(펴놓은 작은 두루마리)의 신적 기원과 권위를 드러낸다. 세상을 파괴하고 사람들을 죽이기 위해 하늘에서 떨어진 별(9:1,사단)과 달리 그는 최후의 심판을 앞두고 온 세상과 교회에게 하나님의 뜻을 전하기 위해 하늘에서 내려온 것이다.

회개와 심판의 목소리가 잦아드는 시대에 나는 하나님의 부르짖음을 듣고 있는가? 일곱 우레가 말한 것을 인봉하고 기록하지 못하게 하신다. 일곱인과 일곱 나팔 재앙보다 더 완벽하고 근본적인 심판의 계획(재림)을 예비해 놓으셨기 때문 이다. 이 일에 하나님은 결코 지체하지 않으실 것이다. 이는 더 이상 자비가 없는 최종적인 심판이 임박한 상황에서 교회와 성도들의 사명(11)이 얼마나 중요하고 긴박한 지를 일깨워준다.

즉 재앙 가운데서도 회개하지 않는 세상을 향해 교회가 마지막까지 감당해야 할 것이 복음 증거의 사명임을 강조하는 것이 아닐까? 복음을 전하다가 밧모 섬에 유배된 요한에게 천사의 손에 펴 놓인 두루마리를 갖다 먹고 다시 백성과 나라와 방언과 임금에게

가서 예언하라고 하신다. 다시 냉소와 조소, 거절과 핍박, 고난과 죽음이 기다리는 곳으로 가서 회개와 심판의 메시지를 전하라고 하신다. 가기 전에 말씀을 먹으라고 하신다.

먼저 말씀의 단맛을 알아야 쓰디쓴 고통을 감내하면서도 말씀을 왜곡하지 않고 바로 전할 수 있다는 뜻이다. 말씀을 향한 겸손한 수용과 말씀을 전하기 위한 목숨 건 충성이 절실한 시대다. 본문에서 찾은 하나님은 약속에 신실하심(무지개), 거룩함과 영광(얼굴이 해 같음), 능력과 견고함(발이 불기둥 같음), 천사로 바다와 땅을 밟고 큰 소리(복음)로 외치게 하심, 작은 책의 비밀(구원 계획)을 지체하지 않고 속히 이루시려고 요한에게 미션을 주신 분이다.

약속하신대로 나팔 불 때 하나님의 비밀이 복음의 내용대로 이루어진 것을 인하여 감사드립니다. 계속해서 앞으로 다가 올 그 날까지 저부터 먼저 나라의 정체성을 지키며 실천하겠습니다. 당신의 나라로 산다는 것은 많은 고통이 따르지만 과거, 현재, 미래에 걸쳐 구속사를 지체하지 않고 이루시고 계셨던 내 님을 신뢰하며 기꺼이 의로 옷을 빨겠습니다.
