오늘날의 문화에서는 그릇된 것들을 대변하는 사람들에게

관심이 집중되는 것이 거슬리지 않습니까?

Does it bother you to see

how much attention is paid in today's culture

to people who stand for all the wrong things?

그들은 어쩌면 음악이나 영화, TV 프로그램에서

부도덕한 인생철학을 옹호하며 헤드라인을 장식하는 연예인이거나,

아니면 올바른 삶의 기준을 공개적으로 무시하는 지도자들일지도 모릅니다.

Perhaps it is entertainment stars who get the headlines

while espousing immoral philosophies

in their music, movies, or programs.

Or it could be leaders

who openly thumb their noses at right-living standards.

이에 대해 불평하고 절망하며 양손을 쥐어짤 수도 있겠지만,

시편 37편은 더 나은 방법을 제시해줍니다.

It would be easy to fret about this and wring our hands in despair,

but Psalm 37 suggests a better way.

다윗의 현명한 충고를 들어보십시오.

“행악자를 인하여 불평하여 하지 말며 불의를 행하는 자를 투기하지 말지어다”(1절).

Listen to David's wise advice:

"Do not fret because of evildoers,

nor be envious of the workers of iniquity".

살맛이 안 나는 어두운 세상에서 “소금과 빛”(마 5:13-14)이 되어,

어디서나 가능한 한 예수님의 빛을 비추어 줌으로써

죄와 맞서 보려고 애쓰는 것은 옳은 일이지만,

다른 한편으로 부정적인 힘들이

우리로 하여금 화나 분노 속에 살도록 내버려두어서는 안 됩니다(시 37:8).

While it is right to be "salt and light"

in this tasteless, dark world

―attempting to counter sin by reflecting Jesus' light

wherever possible we cannot let negative forces cause us

to live in anger and wrath.

그것 대신

우리는 행악자들에게 최후의 말씀을 하시는 하나님에게 의지해야만 합니다.

“저희는 풀과 같이 속히 베임을 볼 것이며 푸른 채소 같이 쇠잔할 것임이로다”(2절).

Instead,

we must rely on God to have the ultimate say about evildoers:

"They shall soon be cut down like the grass".

그 외에도

우리는 다윗의 접근 방식을 따라야 합니다.

Beyond that,

we should take David's approach:

(1) “하나님을 신뢰하고 선한 일을 하라.”

(2) “주님의 신실하심을 먹고 살라.”

(3) “주님 안에서 또한 크게 기뻐하라.”

(4) “주님께 네 길을 바치라.”

(5) “주 안에서 쉬라”(3-7절).

(1) "Trust in the Lord, and do good."

(2) "Feed on His faithfulness."

(3) "Delight yourself also in the Lord."

(4) "Commit your way to the Lord."

(5) "Rest in the Lord".

우리는 우리가 보거나 들은 사회의 어떤 단면들에 대해 좋아할 수는 없을 것입니다.

그러나 하나님이 통치하신다는 사실을 기억하십시오.

We may not like what we see and hear

from some aspects of society, but remember this:

God is in control.

하나님이 옳은 일을 행하신다는 것을 믿으십시오.

그리고 초조해하지 마십시오.

Trust Him to do what is right.

Psalm 시편 37:1-11  

[시] 37:1	악을 행하는 자들 때문에 불평하지 말며 불의를 행하는 자들을 시기하지 말지어다 Of David. Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong;
[시] 37:2	그들은 풀과 같이 속히 베임을 당할 것이며 푸른 채소 같이 쇠잔할 것임이로다 for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away.
[시] 37:3	여호와를 의뢰하고 선을 행하라 땅에 머무는 동안 그의 성실을 먹을 거리로 삼을지어다 Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
[시] 37:4	또 여호와를 기뻐하라 그가 네 마음의 소원을 네게 이루어 주시리로다 Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.
[시] 37:5	네 길을 여호와께 맡기라 그를 의지하면 그가 이루시고 Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this:
[시] 37:6	네 의를 빛 같이 나타내시며 네 공의를 정오의 빛 같이 하시리로다 He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
[시] 37:7	여호와 앞에 잠잠하고 참고 기다리라 자기 길이 형통하며 악한 꾀를 이루는 자 때문에 불평하지 말지어다 Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.
[시] 37:8	분을 그치고 노를 버리며 불평하지 말라 오히려 악을 만들 뿐이라 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret--it leads only to evil.
[시] 37:9	진실로 악을 행하는 자들은 끊어질 것이나 여호와를 소망하는 자들은 땅을 차지하리로다 For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land.
[시] 37:10	잠시 후에는 악인이 없어지리니 네가 그 곳을 자세히 살필지라도 없으리로다 A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found.
[시] 37:11	그러나 온유한 자들은 땅을 차지하며 풍성한 화평으로 즐거워하리로다 But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy great peace.

When tragedy, heartache, and sorrow abound, When evil appears to have conquered the right, We center our heart on our Father's great love, For He will bring hope in the darkest of night. Don't despair because of evil; God will have the last word.

비극, 마음의 고통,  슬픔이 가득할 때에 악이 정의를 이길 때에 우리는 하나님 아버지의 위대한 사랑을 마음 중심에 두니 이는 주님이 가장 어두운 밤에 희망을 가져오시기 때문이라 악으로 인해 절망하지 말라. 하나님이 최후의 말씀을 하실 것이다.
