(Raytheon Aircraft Company)</p><p style="text-align: left;">The Netherlands has revealed plans to procure the Tomahawk land attack cruise missile from the US government, with deployment planned from both frigates and submarines.</p><p style="text-align: left;">Forming part of a broader investment in air and maritime strike capabilities, the planned procurement will make the Royal Netherlands Navy (RNLN) only the second naval service in Europe to introduce the Tomahawk into service. A proof of concept firing from a De Zeven Provinciën-class air-defence and command frigate (LCF) could occur as early as next year.</p><p style="text-align: left;"><b>State Secretary for Defence Christophe van der Maat detailed plans to acquire a maritime strike capability in a 3 April letter to the Dutch House of Representatives. I</b>n this so-called ‘A' letter – a document which outlines the analysis of requirements – he said that the Netherlands Ministry of Defence (MoD) had determined that a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) agreement with the US government represented the only viable option to deliver the capability required.</p><p style="text-align: left;">According to van der Maat, the<b> Maritime Strike Acquisition programme will see the Tomahawk initially acquired to equip the RNLN's four LCF frigates, and two of the service's four Walrus-class submarines.</b> “In the course of the [2030s], the four replacement frigates and four replacement submarines [will also receive] Tomahawk,” he added.</p><p style="text-align: left;">Manufactured by Raytheon, the Tomahawk missile has a range of over 1,000 km and can be re-targeted in flight, should the mission priority change. Current RGM-109E/UGM-109E Tomahawk Block IV rounds are being progressively recertified and upgraded to Block V standard for the US Navy (USN) and the UK Royal Navy (RN); Raytheon is also manufacturing newbuild Block V missiles.</p>

@위종민OPV에 토마호크는 위협이 없는 환경에서 만만한 나라들 살짝 때리는 임무에는 돈 들지 않고 딱 맞겠지만 세계대전급의 전쟁에서는 조금 위험할 것 같습니다. 토마호크의 최대 사거리를 다 쓰기 위해 멀리 떨어져서 쏘는데도 공격을 받는 가능성은 물론 작겠지만 그래도 방어 능력이 거의 없어서요.
2차대전 때 네덜란드해군의 6인치 포함 Flores는 1943년 9월 살레르노 상륙작전에 참가해 함포사격을 하다가 공습을 받고 손상되기도 했죠.
The successive Dutch ships were allocated a wide range of tasks. On average, each Dutch ship carried out 10 patrols, mainly along the west coast of Korea. The ships were also given the task of escorting a US or British aircraft carrier on a regular basis. The Dutch ships were also given the task of protecting the lines of communication and bombarding enemy troop concentrations, reinforcements and infrastructure.

홀란드급 OPV는 결국 VLS 빼고 건조돼 LCF에 넣을 수밖에 없게 됐네요.
