While meeting and chatting with pilgrims and taking photos, my wife, Ether Park, expressed her desire to walk the same path as the pilgrims. She suggested I give it a try once I recovered. León, the capital of the former Kingdom of León, which, along with the Kingdom of Castile, was a driving force behind the unification of Spain, also developed as a transit point on the Pilgrim's Way, and we arrived in León around 4 p.m. We rested for about two hours at the hotel.
Today, I decided to invite Mr. and Mrs.Jeong to celebrate my 37th wedding anniversary. I asked the hotel manager for a restaurant that represented Leon, and was recommended "La Mejillonera," which specializes in seafood dishes.

41)4월2일(월) 행복 성지 순례: Leon-Spain 3대 성당과 가우디의 숨결이 있는 건물-


순례자들을 만나 얘기도 하고 사진도 찍으면서 Leon으로 가는 렌터 카 안에서 아내 박집사는 순례자들과 같은 길을 걷고 싶다고 한다. 내가 건강이 회복되면 한번 도전하자고 하였다.
카스티아 왕국과 함께 스페인 통일의 원동력이 된 옛 레온 왕국의 수도이며 순례자의 길의 중계지로서도 발전한 Leon에는 오후 4시경 도착 후 호텔에서 2시간 여 휴식을 취하였다.
오늘 결혼 37주년 기념일에 정공 내외를 초청하기로 하였다.  Hotel Manager에게 Leon을 대표할 수 있는 레스토랑을 소개해 달라고 하여 해산물 요리를 잘하는 '라 메히요네라'를 소개받았다.    

Leon also has a Gaudí work. The spires rising from the building's four corners are recognizable as Gaudí's work. The building is called Casa de Botines. In 1894, Gaudí, invited by the Bishop of Astroga to build a building he had designed, came to Leon and built this Neo-Gothic building. It now serves as a bank.
Leon에도 가우디의 작품이 하나 있다.건물의 네 모틍이에 솟아 있는 첨탑에서 가우디의
작품임을 알 수 있엇다.건물이름은 Casa de Botines', 1894년 가우디가 Astroga의
주교의 초청을 받고 그가 설계한 건물을 건축하러  왔을 때 Leon에도 와서 이 네오 고딕 양식의 
건물을 지었다. 지금은 은행으로 사용하고 있다.

Korean donuts, was delicious after trying it in Valencia, so I wanted to try it again. I hadn't seen a place that made it until today, when I saw it in Leon and immediately bought a few. Mr. Jeong really liked these donuts.

우리나라 꽈배기와 같은 Churreria, 발렌시아에서 먹어 보고 맛있어서 다시 먹고 싶었으나
그동안 이것을 만드는 곳을 볼 수 없었으나 오늘 Leon에서 보고 바로 몇개 샀다.
이 과베기를 정공이 매우 좋아 하였다.

Fried in clean olive oil, these squids are refreshing and tender. A couple who have been making them for over 40 years explain the ingredients and method, boasting of their clean and delicious taste.
이꽈베기는 깨끗한 올리브 오일에 튀겨 먹기가 상쾌하고 부드럽다. 40여년 이상 이 것을
만든 노 부부가 재료와 만드는 방법을 설명하며 깨긋하고 맛있게 만든다고 자랑한다,

I paid one euro to a street musician in Leon and requested a "Besame Mucho." To this tune, Esther and I danced the "Rumba" for the first time in a long time. Today, the two of us celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary by dancing Latin. Mrs. Jeong looked up with a smile
Leon의 거리 악사에게 1유로를 주고 '베사메무쵸'를 신청했다. 이 음악에 맞춰 오랜만에
Janet와 '룸바'를 췄다. 결혼 37주년이 되는 오늘 둘이서 라틴 춤을 추며 자축했다.

One of Spain's three major cathedrals. Along with the cathedrals in Seville and Toledo, it is famous. Built in the late 13th century, it is in the Gothic style.
스페인 3대 Catedral의 하나. 세비아, 톨레도에 있는 성당이 Leon의 성당과 함께 유명하다.

                                    Both the front and south entrances are decorated with luxurious and splendid carvings.
                                                    정면과 남쪽 입구는 모두 호화 찬란한 조각으로 장식되었다.

                                                  There are also over 120 beautiful stained glass windows.
                                                       또 120여 개 이상의 스테인  글라스가 아름답다.

                                              The splendor of stained glass can truly be said to be an art created by light.
                                                       스테인 글라스의 화려함은 실로 빛이 자아내는 예술이라고 할 수 있다.

                                   As Easter approaches, there are parades and festivals related to the Passion of Jesus.                                            

                                            부활절이 가까워 옴에따라 예수 수난에 관한 가면 행진과 Festival이 있다.

Dinner was held to celebrate their 37th wedding anniversary, but Mr. &Mrs. Jeong were a little tired. Because Leon's festival ended late that day, dinner was served after 10 p.m. Spanish people have a custom of eating dinner from 9 p.m. to midnight, but we were exhausted from our trip...
37주년 결혼 기념을 위한 식사, 그러나 정공 내외는 피곤에 약간 지쳐 있었다.
이날 Leon의 축제가 늦게 끝났기에 저녁 식사를 10시 지나서 하였다. 스페인 사람들은
저녁식사를 9시 부터 자정까지 하는 습관이 있으나 우리는 여행에 지쳐 있어서,....

                                       Seafood dishes are famous. It was delicious with white wine and seafood.
                                                  해물 요리가 유명하다.Whte wine과 겻들인 그맛, 좋았더라.

The chef is said to have found this Wedding Cake while wandering around downtown Leon. He made the number 37 with red candles and lit it.
                               주방장이 Leon시내를 해매면서 이 Wedding Cake를 찾았다고 한다.붉은 초로 37을 만들고 불을 키다.

                              Esther and I were happy. Thank you, Esther, for caring for me as I was dying and keeping me healthy.
